Plot Summary change
editThe plot summary indicates that "Omkara arrives at the ambush and spots Billo wearing the missing jewelry"; Omkara arrives at the bar at about 1:38 in the film, and watching the scene carefully, it does *not* look like he spots Billo wearing the missing jewelery. In fact, it looks like Langda fires a shot to *prevent* Omkara from seeing the belt (though I'm not sure why he does this). So, I will remove this statement from the summary, but someone can restore it if I'm mistaken.
Untitled
editI think that the identification of Naseerudding Shah's character (bhaisaheb) with Brabantio is incorrect. In Shakespeare's play Brabantio is Desdemona's father, which corresponds to vakilsaheb in the film. Bhaisaheb corresponds to Venice's rulers, maybe the Duke would be the closest corresponding character.
Also, perhaps the style of the synopsis is not as neutral and factual as it should be. Phrases like "Omi goes about tearing up his own safe and secure world" and "But like all love stories which never really end" do not seem appropriate for an encyclopedia.

I'm going to edit out bits about Om being 'retarted'and 'unbormal' (sic). I'd suggest the author consult an English dictionary and ponder on whether Om or Othello were in any way retarded. Utter rubbish.
i saw omkara. it's really a nice movie. set in indian backdrop, it's screenplay is fantastic.
Synopsis copied from officia website.
editThe synopsis proided in WIKI has been copied from the official website of OMKARA...: [[[1]]]...... The official website has provided such sypopsis that would attract public, but the duty of the encyclopedia in to give information rather that copy stuff from here and there(the official site is sure to provide misleadind spnopsis) and publish on the encyclopedia.
List of Awards
editDo we need such a long list of awards and nominations? i dont think they have any encyclopidic value, furthermore i think it was decided earlier tht Bollywood articles may only list Winners and not Nominations Quork 17:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:OmkaraStill.jpg
editImage:OmkaraStill.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Character Outlines
editThese are unnecessary. If there are no objections, I will remove them myself --Maurice45 (talk) 15:37, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Why pointless? I can see this section in many Indian movies wiki pages..Anshuk (talk) 09:09, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes and I have had to remove a large number of them for copying off of other websites. To top it all, the majority of these are more POV than anything and have no place here --Maurice45 (talk) 14:42, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Copyright violation is a different issue. If you think these character outlines are picked from other websites, as is, please go ahead and remove them. As far as POV is concerned, even a former featured article like Titanic (1997 film) has such sections.. Anshuk (talk) 12:42, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
