David J. Hogan, in Dark Romance: Sexuality in the Horror Film: "Though an obvious imitator of Jaws (1975), Piranha is effective as both thriller and comedy." (Sugar Bear (talk) 02:33, 1 February 2009 (UTC))Reply

Listening to the DVD commentary last night, producer Jon Davison says the budget was exactly $660,000. I believe he said $400,000 was put up by United Artists, $200,000 by Roger Corman (who was originally supposed to put up $400,000 but changed his mind), and $60,000 by a Japanese actress whose name I do not recall.
Shouldn't be an issue. I'd recommend the reference read along the lines of "Audio Commentary, Piranha DVD". If there's been more than one DVD release, including the year of the release would probably be a good idea as well, along with any other specific identifying information that comes to mind. See Godfellas for an example of an article that uses an audio commentary as a reference. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 15:28, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
