article name
editI would go with "Revel" but that's a disambig page. I went with Revel Transit, as that's the company's legal name, but Revel (bikes) or something similar may be better.Hydromania (talk) 07:53, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

- ... that scooter sharing company Revel dropped 1000 new scooters on New York City streets in the space of one week? Source: "but the...scooters from a startup called Revel kept coming...until 1,000 were parked on city streets within just one week" ([23])
- ALT1:... that a scooter from electric moped sharing startup Revel was involved in a crash just two days after their debut in Washington, D.C.?

QPQ: Done. |
Overall: Some minor corrections needed: (1) COO link needs to be disambiguated. (2) "Compared to" is about things being similar. "Compared with" is about things being different. So you need "compared with." (3) History section - "revel" needs a capital; 3 more "revels" in Mopeds section; 2 more in Safety section.(4) Please confirm that you have achieved fewer than five DYKs, so that I can clear the QPQ requirement. This is a useful article; thank you for creating it. Thank you. Storye book (talk) 12:31, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, this is only my second DYK. Not sure why my first doesn't show up, but it's at Template:Did you know nominations/Yifat Bitton should you like to confirm. other minor issues dealt with. Hydromania (talk) 17:18, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you. Good to go, now. Storye book (talk) 18:26, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
Requested edits to Revel Transit article
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
article intro
editThe first sentence may give the impression that Revel as a company no longer exists. I would suggest substituting to "Revel is an electric vehicle rideshare and charging platform based in New York City. The startup began with dockless electric moped sharing, which it announced would end in November 2023."[1]
Revel's rideshare and public fast charging businesses began in summer 2021, half of the time the company has been in operation. [2]
article body
editI would also suggest language describing electric moped sharing throughout the article be changed to past tense, such as "Revel's mopeds were manufactured..." instead of "Revel's mopeds are manufactured..." The reason being that Revel mopeds are no longer available to customers, so this could be confusing to readers thinking that they are currently in operation. [3]
history
editRegarding employee count, as of July 2024, Revel has about 150 total employees. The comapany is headquarted in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. [4]
In June 2021, Revel opened its first public fast charging hub with 25 chargers in Brooklyn. [5] Today, Revel has three charging stations in New York City with plans to develop 200 more chargers through 2025, supported by a partnership with Uber. [6]
driving requirements
editI would suggest this section is removed because Revel mopeds are no longer in operation. [7] It could also be confused as being driving requirements for the rideshare EVs, which are driven by specially licensed rideshare drivers in New York City, not general consumers.

- I've gone ahead and made the edits, with some changes to better incorporate your requests into the article. However, I haven't removed the Driving requirements section, since I feel I feel the information is relevant, and IMO is better placed with additional sections.⸺(Random)staplers 22:10, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
