Overall:   Ca, looks good to me. NYT and WaPo are paywalled, so AGF. Pending QPQ unless this is your 5th or earlier nomination. No preference between ALTs, but if ALT0 is picked I'd change "Gen Alpha" to "Generation Alpha". This is clearer and bypasses a redirect (see WP:MPNOREDIRECT). "The dialogue-free series"

edit

This is outdated, and should be changed. In "skibidi toilet 70 (part 1)", at the 3:18 timestamp, one of the "Astro Toilets" very clearly says "You all will die." in English. Hulias0 (talk) 20:12, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

caveat added. Alyo (chat·edits) 22:29, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I guess the lyrics in the music would count for something too, then? Having one line in the whole series is loosely defining it as having dialogue. 64.124.38.140 (talk) 14:07, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Since I made that topic, every new episode (except 71) has had several lines of dialogue in them. Hulias0 (talk) 19:19, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't really matter, as this line is not in the article anymore. Alyo (chat·edits) 20:28, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've added Template:Toilets template to the article.

Were there to be any objections to the addition of said template. Feel free to discuss here.

Since this article is indeed linked on the template, that makes sense. I'd support removal if skibidi gets removed from template:toilets. Alyo (chat·edits) 19:44, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Seasons?

edit

How does skibidi toilet have 23 seasons when it was released in 2023? Is that a typo or do they do a season every two weeks? 174.198.8.194 (talk) 03:21, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yes, each season only has a handful of episodes and episodes used to be published in a daily basis. Ca talk to me! 07:40, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Skibidi Toilet isn’t the second most subscribed channel

edit

This article says that skibidi toilet passes Mr Beast in YouTube subscriber rankings when in reality it isn’t in the top 50. 12.74.53.22 (talk) 01:05, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the sentence refers to the subsciber growth not the total subscriber count. I modified the sentence to make this clearer. Ca talk to me! 02:30, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Is it worth making the direct comparison to Mr beast. Seems a little forced in this context? YannLK (talk) 11:05, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
This is very subjective, but the fact that this smallish channel surpassed the subscriber growth rate of the largest YouTuber seem notable to me. In any case, it's the Washington Post making this comparison, not the editors. Ca talk to me! 14:18, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I would argue that it isn’t particularly relevant since the biggest youtube channels can (and sometimes do) have negative subscriber growth rates. YannLK (talk) 14:41, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Adding a picture of the humanoids with electronics on their heads

edit

Could an editor of this article add a picture of the humanoids discussed in "Plot and Characteristics"? There is a picture of one of the toilets, so it would probably also be helpful to have a picture of a Speakerman/Cameraman/TVman. Thank you. 2601:447:D17C:3340:2541:F905:6793:379C (talk) 21:06, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps? The character design wasn't really a major topic of discussion in reliable sources, and the toilet screenshot already embodies the visual style of the show well. So, I don't think an additional image would pass the bar outlined at WP:NFF. Ca talk to me! 16:08, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for replying. It makes sense to have just the toilet in the article, so another picture might not be necessary, but it may be helpful though it is of low importance. 64.124.38.140 (talk) 14:01, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'd think it'd make sense to include them small and off to the side. Ned Retherbrick (talk) 23:18, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

"G-Man"

edit

This character is never once referred to as "G-Man". "G-Man" is a character from Half-Life, the character in the skibidi toilet series is canonically called "G-Toilet", which is a name that has been in use since episode 47, which came out back in July 2023. Since then, many episode's YouTube descriptions have featured this name, like 47, 60, 64, 65 part 1 (shorts version), 68 "fake g-toilets", 72, and most recently 73. While a lot of the community still refers to him as "G-Man" or "G-Man Toilet" due to his face being the G-Man from Half-Life, this name is fanmade, and shouldn't be used in a Wikipedia article. Hulias0 (talk) 23:11, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for noticing this! I will add a efn addressing this. G-Man seems to be the more popular name, that even WaPo uses it, so both names seem worth mentioning. Ca talk to me! 05:08, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Country of origin

edit

"Skibidi Toilet is produced by Alexey Gerasimov (Russian: Алексей Герасимов, born 1997 or 1998), known online as "DaFuq!?Boom!" or "Blugray" Since 2014, he has been learning animation on his own. He lives in the country of Georgia. His channel has seen prior hits; his video I'M AT DIP accumulated over 45 million views by July 2023" Since Alexey is an ethnic Russian, it has to include both countries, Why? Because Alexey has ethnic ties with Russia and since we don't yet know if Alexey is born in either countries and that Alexey also works in Georgia. DariEnfants (talk) 12:38, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@DariEnfants To add such info there'd need to be reliable source(s) which explicitly confirm that Alexey is Russian. Jothefiredragon🐲talk🐉edits 13:10, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
He is indeed Russian as it says in the article. Even if he's not born in Russia, he has ethnic ties with the country. DariEnfants (talk) 13:15, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DariEnfants In the article introduction there's this comment: <!-- Gerasimov is not Georgian; he only lives in Georgia (the country). He is purportedly Russian, but no reliable sources have confirmed it yet.--> Jothefiredragon🐲talk🐉edits 14:26, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Skibidi Toilet referenced in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

edit

A short animation referencing Skibidi Toilet was made in Episode 1473 from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Funnily enough, I found this from a tweet which I then searched on Youtube. Unfortunately, it's real. (timestamp: 7:05) If there is a reliable source about this, could this be inputted as a part of this article?

  • What I think should be changed: (this would be added to the plot and characteristics section, prefacing the sentence mentioning Business Insider) "After the events of the strike mission, the aforementioned titans clash with the G-Toilet in attempts to destroy him. G-Toilet escapes, leaving the camera and speaker titan severely damaged. Human survivors are also discovered in the toilet's hideout. The "Astro Toilets"- a rogue splinter group introduced earlier in the series arrive onto Earth with reinforcements, planning to destroy both the Skibidi Toilets and the alliance."
  • Why it should be changed: New details have been recently introduced into the series- concerning the discovery of a group of human survivors, and the invasion of earth by spaceship-like toilets known as "Astro Toilets". These are the most glaring plot points, but I omitted other parts for brevity. TLDR: new plot points were introduced.
  • References supporting the possible change: [1]
@Phaserblast, thanks for the nicely written summary. I knew the section was due for an update but thank God I don't have to watch that series again *shudder* Ca talk to me! 23:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reddit Post concerning potty training

edit

Recently, a Reddit post has gained attention surrounding skibidi toilet. The post outlines a parent's struggle to toilet train their child, who is afraid of "the skibidi toilet". A clause could be added to this page referencing this in the section about the violent nature of the videos (the Guardian and Indonesian Newspapers). 4rkange1 (talk) 08:17, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that Reddit posts usually don't count as reliable sources. So such information wouldn't be able to be added unless it's also covered in reliable sources. Jothefiredragon🐲talk🐉edits 10:26, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Seems like the newer generations are trying to add meaning to the term, "Skibidi"

edit
NOTFORUM

As the meme progresses and gains popularity, it seems as though people are starting to add a meaning to the word. Some children see a peer doing something considered cool, or interesting, and follow up with "That's so Skibidi", "[name]'s so Skibidi", etc. So maybe kids are trying to add a positive meaning to the strange word. It can also be considered as something disrespectful, or negative though as well depending on the context. Some children have taken different outlooks on the word however. Some kids have used the word in a more offensive form perhaps, examples should be, "What the Skibidi," or "This is so Skibidi." Sometimes these are said when a person is looking at something they might find to be irritating, or annoying. "What the Skibidi", you can clearly see Skibidi is used in a form of a curse word, which can be concerning for a parent. In "This is so Skibidi", the child could be referring to another curse word, or it could be used in reference to the term, 'stupid'. This new term "Skibidi" can be taken in different ways depending on the context and the tone when being said. The official meaning as of right now is refrence to the war themed videos of the toilets with heads that are currently swarming the media as brainrot. Further meaning is to be determined, as of right now, these are just suggestions that can be taken into consideration. Chumistar, Out. Chumistar (talk) 15:32, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

The meaning varies widely depending on context. As the meme drifted out of favor, it's now mainly a meaningless interjection. Like if you were to say, "What the what?" However in certain contexts, it may carry a meaning of chaos, unpredictability, ect. Altho it seems this became less common again due to the meme falling out of favor amongst ages 6-8+.
