Notability
editWhy is this guy notable? Just appearing in court in relation to various legal cases does not make him anything special: all lawyers do it and many, many of them get their names mentioned in newspapers because of it. - Sitush (talk) 08:08, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
He is a Notable person, You Sitush are ignorant towards the news how he has tried to resolve the disturbances caused by some migrated Nigerians at the Khirki Extension. ABP News Special: The reality of Delhi's Khirki Extension
Have courage to Listen to the people of Khirki Extension first, Do not spread Negativity Somnath Bharti a hero for Khirki Extension residents

before deleting any info on anyone citing no-source as reason, you must apply your mind. Plz restore the article as it was earlier. He is one of the three candidates to be fielded by AAP against Minister Kiran Walia of Congress in Delhi election. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.161.141.41 (talk) 10:08, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- Please read WP:BURDEN and WP:CRYSTAL. The AAP is a new political party and there is a long history of short-lived political movements in India. - Sitush (talk) 10:12, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Date of Birth
editSomnath bharti (declared) date of birth can be confirmed through his Affidavit Candidature form. (The website and Candidature form is in Hindi language ) TY of Walk 17:09, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Please see WP:BLPPRIMARY. - Sitush (talk) 23:22, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Sitush is correct. Wikipedia wants to see a reliable WP:SECONDARY source, not a primary source such as certificates, filings, etc. Binksternet (talk) 23:39, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Alumni association
editWhy is his past presidency of an alumni association so notable? I can see that being a member of the Senate might be because that relates to day-to-day operations of the IIT (I think!) but the alumni group is really not terribly special. Nor, I suspect, are quite a few of the cases that are mentioned. We are not here to list every achievement that Bharti has ever had nor - to pre-empt something that will probably happen - to act as a part of his election campaign literature. - Sitush (talk) 20:19, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Confusion regarding Spam theory
editThere is no way to establish that Somnath bharti mentioned in those PCquest articles is Somnath bharti of Aam Aadmi party. I am removing the content under Business section and I am amused that editor choose to allege bharti is the same person without any Reliable source identifying the minister bharti to be the same person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.177.8.204 (talk) 00:19, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- The reference cited in the article does make it clear that it's the same person. Here are a couple of other sources:
- From spamming taint to outbursts, Somnath Bharti's past is no comfort for AAP (Financial Express)
- Law minister Somnath Bharti is also a ‘spammer’ (Hindustan Times)

Wife
editAn allegation of domestic violence has been made recently and has surfaced in this article. For safety's sake, bearing in mind that Bharti is alive and that this is at present basically the word of one person against that of another, I have queried our specialist noticeboard re: whether or not the material should be included. See here. - Sitush (talk) 12:12, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- While there may be issues with the content I mention above, there is most definitely an issue with the content that keeps getting adding with edits like this. It is so far from neutral phrasing as to be unreal. Please review our policy regarding neutrality and note again that the original stuff is already subject to review at WP:BLPN. - Sitush (talk) 12:53, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- I have just removed the entire section, as per my note at Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Somnath_Bharti_-_allegations_of_domestic_violence. Any further discussion should probably take place there. Please note that this does not mean that the material will remain absent from the article - it is merely a gesture until some sort of consensus can be determined. - Sitush (talk) 13:21, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
evidently Mr Bharti has not appeared before the DCW when summoned several times in the domestic violence case (http://www.oneindia.com/india/somnath-bharti-fails-to-appear-before-dcw-next-hearing-on-july-6-1796142.html .) eventually this should be incorporated in the article. if Bharti is noteworthy, everything about him is germane.Adambrower (talk) 05:21, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
Accusation of vigilantism
editWhat became of the inquiry into alleged vigilantism that, according to our article, was going to report some time after March 2014? I am aware that Indian legal etc processes can be extremely slow but is it really still in limbo or does the article need updating? Either way, we could do with sources to reflect the current status. - Sitush (talk) 12:23, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
