STOP ADDING MORE SONIC CHARACTERS !
editFor some reasons, people have adding more Sonic characters without proof.
I've found a comment on GameFAQs from a real SEGA developper (he had a VIP profile; I've checked):
"Hello,
First the character roster isn't the same as SST. Two reasons for this...
1. Animation wise, SST needed something like 250 animations per character. So we had to develop a system where we could share certain animations as a starting point. Hence NiGHT's and Reala, Beat and Gum, AiAi and MeeMee etc. This time we are looking at unique animations per character, so we can have a more diverse mix.
2. We want to get a more diverse mix anyway. You've seen all the Sonic characters bar one (and I'll let you speculate!) and we're trying to get some of the fan favourites missing from SST. We'll always have a mix of recent, modern and retro - just hopefully a more fan pleasing selection this time. Note that characters that are quite old or 'obscure' may not make it as playables, but might as cameos.
With such a large selection of Sega characters to draw from - we'll always not get everyone in but we're doing our best to improve on SST at any rate :P"
That was before Knuckles was announced, so that means that the Sonic characters roster is complete. So stop adding more names ! (WebJiCi (talk) 16:58, 19 October 2009 (UTC))
Course name
editThe Sonic racecourse seen in screenshots and videos heavily resembles Seaside Hill from Sonic Heroes, because it shares many of the same textures, decorations and color schemes as that stage in particular. Therefore I propose it should be called Seaside Hill until proven otherwise.
Here's my proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwXyMLWNj-U PsychoJosh (talk) 05:53, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
According to GameTrailers E3 2009 coverage of the game, the track is called Forgotten Falls.Wonchop (talk) 04:07, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion
editShould I or should I not add unconfirmed characters in this article? JMBZ-12 (talk) 20:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- If they are not confirmed then they are only speculation, and thus have no place on this article. Please do not add any characters until they are confirmed. PsychoJosh (talk) 04:53, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Banjo-Kazooie
editI taken out all the Banjo-Kazooie stuff from the page.
Do not post them in the game, until more physical (and credible evidence) is seen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rouge2 (talk • contribs) 02:37, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- On a similar note, please don't use the Edit Summary box for petty arguments. They have forums for that, you know. As it stands, even if the boxart originated from Sega.com, it is not 100% proven until it is officially announced, so I think it's best to keep that hidden until then. Who knows, Sega may be playing a little trick on us.
- Playing a trick? Are you serious? Sega wouldn't post something on their official site without it being true. If it WAS false, they would have said so. This is nowhere near close to April 1st, as Sega of America seems to like holidays. Besides, it shows artwork for Banjo-Kazooie that is completely new, and can't be faked. The fact that they took it down immediately only proves that they wanted it to be secret, as they tried covering up Banjo-Kazooie numerous times, and failing miserably at it. Take Super Smash Bros. Brawl for example. The English boxart was revealed close to a full YEAR before it was released in America. Many people thought it was false, and they certainly felt idiotic when they found out it was true. (66.214.233.221 (talk) 03:09, 17 December 2009 (UTC))
- The images were merely found on the website, and based on what I've read up on weren't properly implemented. Furthermore, they were removed from the site's servers later the same day, at the very least meaning someone at Sega did what they weren't supposed to (most likely the same reason the boxart was taken off Wiki). Due to certain contracts, noone at Sega or Sumo Digital can confirm or deny anything that hasn't been officially announced or approved by Sega.
Nonetheless, Wikipedia pages require some sort of formality, meaning anything that can't be 100% proven with evidence, such as a press release or officially released screenshots (not just the thumbnail kind), should be treated as rumour. Even if we think it's highly probable, we have to stick to the 100% proven facts over speculation. And no, comparing it to Smash Bros boxart is not a valid reference. Be patient and wait for an official announcement.
Also, in the event the true boxarts are verified, I reccomend using one of the ones without Banjo on the front for the article. Looks a bit classier that way. Wonchop (talk) 03:52, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

- How funny. They were confirmed right after the leaked images, along with Avatars for the 360. I bet naysayers are feeling pretty stupid now.... (66.214.233.221 (talk) 23:48, 17 December 2009 (UTC))
- Just to point out, this goes for Ulala as well. Even if she's been 'more or less confirmed' by Nintendo Power and ESRB, it is not official until Sega unveil her. Wonchop (talk) 23:52, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Sega has just officially released box-art for all systems. http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2009/12/17/pack-fronts-for-sonic-sega-all-stars-racing/#more-3525 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.165.111.27 (talk) 17:20, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
Also related, there really is no need to put "known as Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie on the Xbox 360" in the article, since it's not actually called that. That's mainly a statement that Banjo is in the game. Wonchop (talk) 16:35, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Possible Exclusive characters.
editWhat characters seem likely to be used for Wii, DS, and PS3? For Wii, it would be Miis to counter the Avatars, and either Mario or Captain Falcon. DS, Mario or Diddy Kong. PS3, Ratchet and Clank. Discuss. (66.214.233.221 (talk) 23:50, 17 December 2009 (UTC))
- It's highly unlikely they'd have Mario. Not smart to have Mario in another kart-racing game when he already has his own. But yeah, Miis seem likely, and Captain Falcon also seems likely. PS3, no they specifically said in the leaked documents they're not using Ratchet & Clank. This leaves us with characters like Jak & Daxter and Sackboy. DS, I don't think there will be one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.61.249.143 (talk) 08:15, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, since they can use the EXACT same things as the Avatars, just replace them with Miis. (Watch as PS3 does something similar with THEIR avatars...) Captain Falcon would be a better choice, as F-Zero GX was the game that Nintendo and Sega first worked together to make. I also think Sackboy has a better chance, IMO, as it would have Sega returning the favor for Sony adding Sonic Unleashed costumes for him. (66.214.233.221 (talk) 14:18, 18 December 2009 (UTC))
- have removed all info regarding mii's as sega have not confirmed they will be availble on the wii version where as they have confirmed avatar support for the xbox 360. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.186.109 (talk) 15:48, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, they confirmed Miis a month ago. There's even screenshots and gameplay footage. In fact, there was a source for Miis' inclusion which you deleted along with their entry. Please be more careful when editing the page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 21:36, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

- no sega have not confirmed any info regarding mii's all screen shots are fake, look at the sonic and sega all stars racing website THAT is the only confirmed sources of chacters so i will delete all info regarding miis and they should not be reinserted unless ACTUALLY CONFIRMED by Sega.
- Actually they have; if you actually bothered to read the source you keep deleting, you would see that confirmation of the Miis came directly from Sega. Or are you saying that Sega's official word is fake too, and that they can fake video footage as well? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

- just because some random website said that sega said that dosen't mean its true, just look at the sonic and sega all stars website, you know the OFFICAL website for the game, no info there only info about xbox 360 exclusive characters so NO sega have not confirmed it unless its comes directly from them....time to delete the rubbish you keep putting back there and the so called "SOURCE". if you dont belive me go to this site http://www.sega.com/sonicracing/ 86.152.186.109 (talk) 21:48, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- You're not making any sense. The site you keep deleting has been proven as a verifiable source in the past and cited Sega's official European blog for confirmation. Not to mention there's official trailers for the game with the Mii's featured. Stop vandalizing the page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 22:54, 14 February 2010

- it may very well be true but there is no OFFICAL comment from sega and the blog mentions nothing about, anyone can make a video with mii's on but go to the offical site and look...do you see any info about miis? no.
- Oh really? Seriously, STOP vandalizing the page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 23:25, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- And aside from that, on the official site, on the All-Star Moves section, you will find Mii. (Avatars and Miis aren't on the characters, probably because they are customizable.) I guess that Mii's are all Wii owners are getting...but it sucks even more for PS3 owners. They get NO version exclusive characters. (66.214.233.221 (talk) 23:03, 15 February 2010 (UTC))

Redirect from S&SA-SR?
editI think if someone types in "S&SA-SR" it should redirect to this article. I don't have an account so if someone else could do this that'd be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.61.249.143 (talk) 12:50, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think that it should "S&SA-SR" and Sonic All-Stars Racing should redirect here. Also, there should be a page called Sonic Racing (that currently redirects to Sonic R) that has links to this page and Sonic R. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.91.194.12 (talk) 19:30, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Banjo-Kazooie Tracks?
editWhoever keeps putting those there; you kind of need sources... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.61.249.143 (talk) 21:21, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- Steve Lycett has mentioned on the Sega forums that Banjo will not receive any character specific tracks.
You might add this
edithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSwIDRs6nC0 I think the game has been leaked like SSBB. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.168.246.248 (talk) 17:56, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- News based on potential characters should stay off the main roster until Sega has officially announced them. Wonchop (talk) 14:07, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Placement of the Demo Information
editstop moving the info about the xbox 360 demo to the gameplay section. Gameplay = game mechanics, handling, game modes ect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.186.109 (talk) 21:44, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well it certainly does not belong in the intro summary either. A demo release isn't notable/important enough to be put in the initial summary, especially once the game is released (which is soon.) Maybe try putting it in the "Download Content" section? Not the intro though... Sergecross73 (talk) 21:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
i disagree and think it should be in the intro section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.186.109 (talk) 12:47, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well you need to figure out how wikipedia works. It doesn't belong there. And if you haven't noticed, I'm not the only one who keeps taking it out of the intro, several others are too, so it's not ever going to stay there very long... Sergecross73 (talk) 17:45, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- You're the only one who thinks so. IMO, the demo should stay in whichever section the blurbs about E3, SoS09, and the French press event are. If you move one, the other three move with it. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 17:42, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- I've since moved mention of all the public demos to the development section, since I feel they would best fit there as opposed to in Gameplay or the intro. Any objections? -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 21:38, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- Makes sense. Sergecross73 (talk) 22:56, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- agreed. devlopment is the appropriate place for this info, well done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.186.109 (talk) 21:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Concerning 'with Banjo-Kazooie' title
editWhilst it indeed says 'with Banjo-Kazooie' on the Xbox 360 box, the official title, as evidenced by the title screens in-game, is simple Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. Admittedly it is confusing with the rather large disclaimer on the box. If Sega or Sumo Digital officially say the game is officially called 'with Banjo-Kazooie', then so be it, but so far they have just reffered to it as the regular title, regardless of format. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.204.237 (talk) 18:45, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Tails's Origin Correction
editThough a technicality, The game origin for Miles "Tails" Prower in the roster is slightly incorrect. Yes, he does make his first appearance in Sonic 2, but his first game was Sonic 2 8-bit, not 16-bit. 8-bit was released earlier than the 16-bit version, though 16-bit Sonic 2 had him playable for the first time. 68.206.76.252 (talk) 09:33, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

glitched out achievements
editsomeone should really post something about 100g not unlocking for some people, how certain things won't unlock here's an example, check out my gamertag evilronnie42 if you don't believe me http://forums.xbox.com/31540123/ShowPost.aspx —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronnie42 (talk • contribs) 15:52, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- Only if there's a reliable source for it. (A gamertag would not count...) Sergecross73 (talk) 03:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
ok if you want proof then contact sumo digitial since they are aware that many different people are having this problem also my gamertag was not the only person to prove this, since i had to complete the game twice to unlock it i suggest contacting sumo digital since they are a 'reliable source'--Ronnie42 (talk) 00:55, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Japanese release date?
editDoes anyone know when this was released in Japan as it just says JP2010?
PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions.
editThere was a category that the PS2 and PSP versions on it, I Don't know is this true or not, if this true then the source, if this false, then erase the Category ones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sonicfan28 (talk • contribs) 22:52, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
