Gamestop.ca says that it will be released October 1, 2012 for the PS3 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.110.110 (talk) 05:59, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

360?

edit

Tekkenpedia claims there'll be a 360 version, and all sources I can find don't indicate either way whether there will or won't be. Any news on that here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.98.133.45 (talk) 03:54, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

EDIT (this is the same person here, just at a different location): Other fans have said that Harada has confirmed in several interviews that there will be a 360 version. I can't find a reference myself, but this means there must be one out there... can we try to find it? 119.224.17.8 (talk) 14:07, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

There's no evidence of a 360 release yet, so let it go unless there is. On a side note however, if you're enthusiastic about Tekken to such a degree and you don't have the respective PlayStation console of the generation, you're doing it wrong, lol. Strykie-boy (talk) 04:10, 11 December 2011 (UTC) i havent seen it anywhere and the playstation 3 version is out so i believe that there could be a person messing up wikipedia for fun somewhere.Reply

Ultimate TTT2

edit

So far, only Anime News Network lists something. We may have to wait for further info from a different site. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-02-16/namco-bandai-tekken-ultimate-tag-tournament-2-revealed --Addict 2006 17:30, 16 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

This was probably about the release of TTT2 Unlimited in March of the same year. Garyoak99 (talk) 04:55, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Kazuya/Devil Kazuya

edit

Incidently, does it say anywhere that Kazuya and Devil Kazuya are the same "spot"? Because if this keeps up with people continually adding them as seperate, we might need to lock the thread. 85.210.181.145 (talk) 20:29, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

A) Devil Kazuya is not a separate character like he was in the original Tekken Tag, Kazuya just transforms into him in order to gain access to Devil Beam etc. B) Wikipedia is not a forum, there'll be no "locking of threads" here.--FLStyle (talk) 20:41, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I mean protection. Not locking. And basically, what I mean is is there a reference we can put up to show that Devil Kazuya is not a seperate character, to prevent the constant frustrations? 85.210.181.145 (talk) 21:39, 29 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Julia Chang and Jaycee?

edit

I was just wondering..is both Julia Chang and Jaycee separate characters in this game? As in can you play as Julia Chang only as herself as well? Bleubeatle (talk) 12:48, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Playable Characters

edit

Is it really necessary to have two separate tables for the arcade and console versions? I feel it would be much more convenient to just have one list or table, and write (only playable in console version) after each console exclusive character. - Aphasia83 (talk) 21:25, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I understand how you feel. But there are characters like Unknown who is unplayable in the arcade version, but will be playable in the console version. How will you fix this just one list or table? If you can fix it then just go and edit! - SideMaster (talk) 2:37, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

US Arcade release still very much in doubt!

edit

The possibility of an American arcade release of this game is still VERY much in doubt!

Please read the following quote from Rip who attended the Las Vegas Amusement Expo and played the Unlimited version of the game:

I was told that the game should be updated in asian markets within the next month. If/When the USA gets a release it will be directly the Unlimited version. Now, while all evidence points to a USA arcade release the reps cautioned me that this is not decided yet. Apparently, the reason to bring the machine to this event was to see what the interest level is. If there is enough interest then they will do the release. However, at this point its not guaranteed.

That was the status as of March. I have yet to see any indication that it will arrive in American arcades.

Character list

edit

Why remove the list and replace it with a paragraph? It's so hard to read now and looks like a mess. Krystaleen (talk) 10:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Jaycee should be listed as notable 'new' character to this series.

edit

The only thing that links her to Julia is her background story (she is Julia herself). I don't think its right for people to exclude her from being mentioned as a notable new addition to the cast of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 just because her real identity is an old character. Doesn't she have her own unique move sets? Bleubeatle (talk) 03:19, 24 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done. I've added Jaycee information and stated that she is Julia's alter-ego as well as the moves. Bleubeatle (talk) 06:22, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Character redirects

edit

I have seen quite a few people redirecting character pages and fixing redirects, and I think we should not fix redirects as per WP:NOTBROKEN. This includes character links in Tekken (series), and all the other games in the series pages.--Krystaleen 15:44, 27 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well, it seems to generally be preferred not to link to redirects. It should just be where any character that is merged into the character list article is linked there, rather than the redirect page, if you ask me. It seems to make more sense that way. Kokoro20 (talk) 12:33, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Have you read the link? What do you think? WP:NOTBROKEN says there are several cases where we should not fix redirects, and I think some of the reasons listed apply to this case, especially this one "Redirects can indicate possible future articles."--Krystaleen 13:50, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, that's a good point. Several characters who used to be merged with the character list article now have their own article since those now pass the notability guideline. But then again, once a character does get their own own article, we could always just update the page to link to their article too. Kokoro20 (talk) 14:50, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
The point was we'll never know if they're popular enough to be notable and have their own page if we link them directly to the merged page. We can't check the hit count whereas if we keep the redirects we can easily check the redirect page hit count.--Krystaleen 16:02, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

There are actually people who go through the articles and change the links to lists back to the redirect article links as part of cleanups. --Niemti (talk) 22:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, and I just ran the article through Reflinks and it fixed all the character links. I guess it's preferred this way, it's tidier too.--Krystaleen 11:56, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is it actually that retarded? --Niemti (talk) 19:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • I have hoped to see a good formatted reference style, but the same issues can be encountered in this article. Incorrect publishers, inconsistent date formats, redundant mention of the time, missing parameters, etc.--Tomcat (7) 12:54, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Perfect formatting is not needed for GA at all. --Niemti (talk) 23:34, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reception could be better but I had no hand in this. --Niemti (talk) 00:16, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • "Features suggested by Katsuhiro Harada include recording" - outdated information?
  • "The Wii U Edition will feature an exclusive Mushroom Battle" - also outdated as already released in North America
  • The lead does not seem to summarize the article. Perhaps add a few sentences about its marketing/promotion, and perhaps state what exactly was praised.
  • Make sure you update the whole article.
  • There are several dead links, eg Ref 40.--Tomcat (7) 11:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I must comment that the third image, of the special edition, does not have a proper fair use rationale. The rationale describes the contents of the image, not why it is important. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 04:08, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Tenses updated, lead extended (a bit), image removed, also some more stuff. --Niemti (talk) 22:30, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Console time release?

edit

Isn't that confusing? I wondered what it meant for a second. Why don't just say DLC? Much clearer.--Krystaleen 03:47, 12 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since no one objected I'm gonna change it myself.--Krystaleen 05:53, 21 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

North American console release date

edit

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 were released in North America approximately 11 years after the September 11 attacks. How amusing. 50.89.56.198 (talk) 16:35, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
