Was Shepard ever popular for reasons independent of Ally McBeal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.224.74 (talk) 14:22, 16 May 2004 (UTC)
- Vonda Shepard did some performances before Ally McBeal, but Ally McBeal put her on the map! Especially in season 2 when she was added as not just a musical guest, but a main cast member (which she remained as for the rest of the series). Addition of {{AllyMcBeal}}
editPlease do not add navbox {{AllyMcBeal}} to this page. This is a biographical article about a real-life human person, not a fictional character. Therefore the appearance of this human person in a television series is a performance, so WP:PERFNAV applies. --woodensuperman 11:56, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- This is why I reverted and asked you to participate in a discussion if you insist on your way. This becomes an interesting question, which you may or may not have an answer to. If an individual is also a fictional character, as Ms. Shepard is presented as a recurring character in the television show Ally McBeal, is she then both a real person and a character or just one or the other. Would be good to clarify if the clarification hasn't been made as yet. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:06, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- This article only contains biographical information, therefore it is clearly NOT about the fictional version of herself. I'm trying to think of an example where we have articles for fictionalised versions, but nothing comes to mind, although I'm sure there are some. --woodensuperman 12:31, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- Larry David (character) is one such existing section of an article, but yes, it is about the character and not David himself. It is an interesting question. Does the biographical Vonda Shepard naturally cross-over to the presentation of her character in Ally McBeal (a great television show in first-run) and how far does the character overlap with Shepard if at all.
