Source?

edit

@Moheen: Can you please provide a reliable source for the award as I'm unable to find any. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:30, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please see Lions Gold Awards#2019 ~Moheen (keep talking) 09:36, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is not a reliable soruce and I have removed her name from the list as unsourced. I'm asking for an external "reliable source" such as The Times of India etc. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
I am looking for that. ~Moheen (keep talking)

Redirect

edit

@GSS: she obviosly passes WP:NACTOR. Her mere presence on airport make news headlines[1][2][3].

Quoting WP:NACTOR:

Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions.

which she obviously has.

Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following.

She have 2 million followers on Instagram[4], 1.7 million on Facebook[5].

Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment

again she obviously has.

Apart from that, she continuously has been in news[6] LearnIndology (talk) 16:27, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

No, she has only acted in one film so far and her other film is yet to release and having a large internet and social media following isn't sufficient for notability. GSS💬 17:02, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
She undoubtedly passes WP:NOTABILITY. Having acted in fewer movies doesn't mean one isn't notable. Notability has nothing to do with the "number of movies" for that matter. LearnIndology (talk) 17:49, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
You must review the policy for actors which is WP:NACTOR that strictly ask for notable roles in multiple notable productions. If you continue removing the redirect you will be reported for edit warring and the page will be nominated for deletion. GSS💬 05:01, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Stop cherry picking. WP:NACTOR clearly says and I quote

Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions

which she obviously have and I am not going to repeat same thing again and again. @Lithopsian: your comments will be appreciated, please do look at this, as you reviewed this article.LearnIndology (talk) 05:10, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
P.S You had not made any comment (replied) when you reverted me and told me to look at your comment[7]. What comment were you referring to? LearnIndology (talk) 05:20, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Don't look at me. I have only ever reviewed perfectly legitimate redirects from an actor to a movie they were in. This has to be done every time this page switches from being a redirect to an article and back again. Lithopsian (talk) 13:05, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Alright, thanks for the response. LearnIndology (talk) 15:02, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@GSS: I am still waiting for your response. LearnIndology (talk) 02:00, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have extensively explained above how she meets each criteria to have an article. Can you please elaborate how she doesn't meet WP:NACTOR. LearnIndology (talk) 17:26, 9 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dispute Resolution

edit

@LearnIndology, Onel5969, and GSS: - A request was made for dispute resolution at DRN of whether to expand the redirect back to an article. I closed (declined) the dispute resolution request, because DRN does not decide notability disputes. I have recommended that the submitter write a draft and submit it for review, and whether to accept the draft can be discussed here.

I only see one major role. It is difficult to prove a cult following, and that is not done via social media anyway.

Robert McClenon, thanks for the heads up. It's tough when a glorified SPA doesn't get the policy criteria, and refuses to understand. Onel5969 TT me 00:13, 10 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Robert McClenon, Onel5969, and John B123: Can you confirm how this revert or the current version ensures that the subject now passes WP:NACTOR? I still see only 1 major role. Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 18:11, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
User:CapnJackSp - Why are you asking us? The revert to restore the article was made by a now-blocked user, Theregypsy, not by me, or by User:John B123 or User:Onel5969, who have in the past restored the redirect. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:28, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
User:CapnJackSp - Are you satisfied now? Robert McClenon (talk) 21:00, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Robert McClenon for nominating for AfD. I am commenting there now. Captain Jack Sparrow (talk) 08:11, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

established notability

edit

Hi User: Robert McClenon User:John B123, User:Onel5969 I have established a new set of references in Warina Hussain. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Warina_Hussain&oldid=1115242291 Need to restore the article. notability changes over time from June to October 2022, and cult following is subjective. Hi User:CapnJackSp We dont nominate Afd for personal satisfaction i think,If that is the case most of the articles related to models who appeared in 2-3 films, and item songs must be deleted. Fostera12 (talk) 15:14, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fostera12, what has happened between June & October to make her notable? --John B123 (talk) 21:20, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
She has appeared in more films, people started recognizing and following her in social media, and in addition all major publishers, The Hindu, Times, and deccan chronicle wrote various articles about the artist's background, and career in music, modeling, awards, and films. Fostera12 (talk) 07:15, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
2 small roles this year, not sure if they were before or after the AfD, but that's irrelevant. Plus more PR fluff pieces. Nothing's changed since the AfD. Onel5969 TT me 10:23, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Onel5969 hello sir, the actress mentioned in this article has now completed shooting another film (https://www.firstpost.com/entertainment/bollywood/and-its-a-warp-for-actress-warina-hussains-dill-bill-11062621.html) and bagged another opportunity as a female lead in movie: Yaariyan 2 (https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/lifestyle/big-break-441169)
so will this qualify the article to be directed to a draft so that it can be further developed? Thank you 456legend(talk) 13:59, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
After that film gets released, (the one that just wrapped) probably. Onel5969 TT me 14:10, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Onel5969 Okay sir, Thank you for your response. 456legend(talk) 14:14, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yaariyan 2 is almost being released and it's already notable as well. I think definitely it's a good time for you to get the Warina Hussain article back. Maybe add a bit more Personal Life info as well (as covered by many Indian articles) and it will be even better! Fgiiffi (talk) 16:27, 11 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
