- This is an Olympic hook. It could appear on whatever day or days the shot put is contested.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 04:34, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- It seems that Athletics at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's shot put is on August 3.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:35, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- Note that this is a former Olympian. Not sure how much date priority there is for including this.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:42, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- Instead of placing this in August 3, which seems to have too many hooks, I am placing this in the general area at the top of the Olympic hold area.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:11, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

- Tipping the line at just 1500 characters, new enough and long enough at time of nomination. QPQ done. No images to check. Article is neutral enough. No plagiarism concerns. Hook is properly formatted. Hook is supported by source.
- There have been concerns about hooks about family members while looking like about the person. I'm kind of meh on this given that history and kind of worry this might be removed. It would be better if the article was longer to make this fact seem not undue about his son. And just over the line. I kind of feel some one might have concerns on this hook. : / I guess I'm giving it the go on the mover's prerogative. --LauraHale (talk) 07:25, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- This article has fewer than 1200 prose characters about Augie Wolf, with the bulk of the Personal section given over to his son, AJ. That much AJ, especially extraneous details about football, is inappropriate for the article, especially one that is meant to be featured on the front page. A single sentence (the last one) is sufficient to mention the shot put championships (NY and Junior National); the highly rated is redundant. Since the 2012 Blue Devils season hasn't begun yet, he hasn't played for Princeton so far, though it's certainly worth a brief mention. As it stands, however, it is not ready to be promoted. When was Augie married to Anne? Is AJ their only child, or do they have more? That's the sort of info that needs to be in a Personal section, not a subarticle about the son's sporting prowess. - I have shortened the amount of content about his son. I have added what I could find regarding your other concerns.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:40, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- That was basically my concern. : / Technically yes but it is a bit of a problem given recent precedent where a similar type hook failed because it wasn't about the person but about another family member. --LauraHale (talk) 23:27, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- If you feel I have omitted any worthwhile encyclopedic content I would gladly add it. Point anything out and I will oblige.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:02, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- You might start with the Personal section issues I mentioned above. Also, how much longer Augie competed after returning to the sport before he retired (and when). BlueMoonset (talk) 15:34, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- Note: Changed hook wording from "the junior national shot put champion" to "a junior United States national shot put champion". Cmprince (talk) 14:56, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Article now 2014 prose characters, personal section updated with latest available info (nothing, alas, available on when Augie and Anne married or what her name was prior to marriage); A.J.'s info is less prominent as requested. Added a 1989 second place in Indoor Nationals to Career section. Removed "stub" designations on talk page. Approved; will move to appropriate section in special Olympics holding area.
