Template talk:Editnotices/Group/Wikipedia:In the news/Candidates

edit

Will an admin familiar with WP:ITNC please consider including a link to {{ITN candidate}} in the ITNC editnotice? Thanks. Strange Passerby (talkcont) 02:23, 21 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected update request for syntax update

edit

{{ITN candidate}} has been updated with a new parameter for ongoing discussions. Please update the collapsed template syntax copy here to match the new syntax. Mamyles (talk) 13:56, 30 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Two more parameters

edit

I added two more parameters—altblurbs IV and V—because I see altblurbs II and III becoming more useful to everyone. Can you update the syntax? --George Ho (talk) 19:55, 1 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Level-3 or level-4 heading

edit

I see tendencies to make nomination headings level-three. One equal sign (=) at each side should be removed. The bot won't be affected by level-3 headings, will it? George Ho (talk) 04:23, 30 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

RD-only nominations

edit

Preview of the proposed edit:

For recent deaths nominations
==== Nomination header ====
{{ITN candidate
| article       = <!-- Do not wikilink -->
| recent deaths = <!-- (yes/no); instead of specifying a blurb the nomination can be for the "Recent deaths" line -->
| sources = <!-- Include one or more references from verifiable, reliable sources. -->
| updated       = <!-- (yes/no); Leave blank if you aren't sure -->
| updated2      = <!-- (yes/no); only if there's a second article and article2 is filled in! Leave blank if unsure -->
| nominator     = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- Do NOT change this -->
| updater = <!-- Should be filled with the username of the person who has contributed the most to updates. -->
| updater2      = <!-- if more than one updater -->
| updater3      = <!-- if more than two updaters -->
| note = <!-- Can be used to note potential problems with the nomination or article. -->
| nom cmt = <!-- Add the reason for nominating the item. -->
| sign          = ~~~~ <!-- Do NOT change this -->
}}

This helps others no longer copy and paste other unnecessary parameters for RD nominations. Rather than replace, the passage should be added in. --George Ho (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I recommend seeking consensus at WT:ITN before requesting this change. Mamyles (talk) 18:45, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • I don't see the problem, we have blank parameters all over Wikipedia. Adding this would make it unnecessarily complex, especially on occasions when it might be an RD or a blurb. This looks, once again, like a solution searching for a problem. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:29, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected update request for syntax update

edit

{{ITN candidate}} has been updated with a new parameter for ongoing discussions. Please update the collapsed template syntax copy here to match the new syntax. See also this discussion for more information. Fuebaey (talk) 03:06, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Fuebaey: I would like to split off the syntax section of Template:ITN candidate/doc into a new page for transclusion both at the doc page and here, so this editnotice need not go through syncing requests with the doc page. Objections? — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 03:32, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
None here. Thanks for responding. Fuebaey (talk) 03:48, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  Done here and here. Please ping/re-open if there are issues. Thanks. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 04:22, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Can someone please change the two '&' to 'and' per Wikipedia style. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 23:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
