{{editprotected}} Please replace template with code in Template:Tcmdb name/sandbox; this is to add documentation and update categories. Cheers! PC78 (talk) 02:50, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 10:19, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Repair needed

edit

It seems that TCM has revamped their website, and this template is no longer working anymore. Any idea how to fix this problem? - Artoasis (talk) 08:45, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I started a discussion at WikiProject Film here. One should be started at WikiProject actors and Filmmakers, too. Erik (talk | contribs) 14:00, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Has it not been working all these years, or is it broken again? Not working for Herbert Rawlinson --Ronz (talk) 21:36, 2 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
The discussion above was archived here. I hope there was other discussion somewhere. --Ronz (talk) 21:39, 2 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please change the http://tcmdb.com -> https://tcmdb.com . Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bcxfu75k (talkcontribs) 05:00, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: Using an https link results in a certificate error for me, or to a Firefox page that says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". Does this web site work at all? (Note: I am outside of the US, which may be the problem, so can a US editor please try it?) – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:49, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
sorry, I was misunderstanding. https://www.tcm.com/ is good. https://tcm.com/ is bad.--Bcxfu75k (talk) 19:21, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
I still get redirect errors in three different browsers. If it works for you, I'm going to have to let someone in the US, or at least someone who is not using my computer, handle this. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:50, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
uh... sorry, I withdraw my request. I will propose it again in the future. Thanks for taking you time. --Bcxfu75k (talk) 21:12, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

TCM has updated their ID scheme

edit

TCM appears to have updated their ID scheme to have two ID numbers for most of their actors. I haven't been able to figure out how it works, but most links from this template appear to be broken. Someone may have to write to TCM to ask them to redirect their old URL scheme or explain to us how to create links to their site. I have made it work at Alfred Hitchcock by updating the TCM ID in Wikidata, but it looks like some sort of mass changes will need to happen to fix this template's transclusions. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:45, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yeah exactly, it needs fix. How do you even update something to these new IDs in regular Wikipedia? Because new IDs include | and that causes problem, wiki thinks it as a new parameter when you put |. How to encode and escape that | ?Tehonk (talk) 11:54, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK figured how to escape the pipe with {{!}}, but still this needs to be fixed.Tehonk (talk) 12:08, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
This template still needs updating/fixing for whatever change TCM put in place. I just updated Season Hubley with a bandaid solution to the issue. PKT(alk) 16:29, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

don't think the trailing "/wp" is right anymore

edit

for instance, https://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/person/64402%7C0/Jodie-Foster/wp fails but https://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/person/64402%7C0/Jodie-Foster works Joeyconnick (talk) 21:32, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

What this template produces is https://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/person/64402%7C0/wp, which is still working, not https://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/person/64402%7C0/Jodie-Foster/wp. Nardog (talk) 23:16, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
