He is one of the first five administrators of Bengali Wikipedia (only one from India, along with four others from Bangladesh) who had joined hands in Giving Bengali Wikipedia its shape and momentum in 2006 after Hiwami (Hasan Ikbal Wami) from Bangladesh Started it in 2004.

This user was born in Kolkata. His paternal native place is Birbhum. He was trained as a physician at AIIMS, New Delhi. He studied Biological Sciences at Stanford, California, along with research in cell biology. Thereafter he did a post doctoral fellowship at UC Davis and a residency in Clinical Pathology and a Fellowship in Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine at the University of Chicago. He also has professional training in Tabla and painting.
