Mia 2[1][2] 2 is a 2024 supernatural horror drama written and directed by Jay in his debutant produced by Vivek Bandi and Tirumalaraju Varma. It follows a mother and daughter who experience terrifying supernatural occurrences when they move into their new home, themes explored are grief, love, and the supernatural. Plot Summary

The narrative revolves around Leena who is in her early thirties and is considering to get married soon with Leo (Vova) a former soldier at the border who dedicated his life for his country, consequently lost his life in battle. Leena, now a In Leena is desperately trying to piece her life back together and devote all of her love into raising 15-year-old Mia (Kim) who continues to be haunted by the memory of her father.

Mia didn't care when Leena said she wanted to leave the house, so to help Mia put the past behind her she tells Mia they will start fresh and go for a real estate shopping for a broker. Soon after they move into a new house, Mia hears her friends at school talking about spirits. Enthralled and desperate to be reunited with her deceased father, Mia uses the back of her exam pad as a chalkboard trying to evoke his spirit. Little do they know she just unwittingly summoned all the evil spirits looking for a good time with their old pal from grade school.

With supernatural acts intensifying, Leena and Mia discover that the house is cursed. Seeking a solution to save Mia and remove the spirits inhabiting their house, Leena goes to a mentalist Kaali (played by Paul) and his friend Rudra (played by Sunny D). They fight the dark forces together and also find out deeper secrets tied to the house and their past.

Theme

Mia 2 is not only supernatural horror but a story of dealing with the loss and the healing after. It's a bit of in-built metaphor for the trauma of his father's death as the lost souls that follow Mia everywhere serve as physical manifestations of her lingering grief. Leena is constantly brave for Mia and their bond holds the film together, with the supernatural plot as a means to challenge the strength of this union.
