Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you. Alexfusco5 22:05, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Returning thanks

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PDD Logo 2.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:PDD Logo 2.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:28, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I invited quite a few Sox fans so it may be hard to find more for now :)   jj137 Talk 23:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Nice recruiting Stormtracker. It seems I missed a few big Red Sox fans.   jj137 Talk 04:00, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
I did something similar. I just went through the Special:Whatlinkshere for the template and invited pretty much all of those people. I'm sure there is some I missed, though, which you got.   jj137 Talk 17:31, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

How you gonna"?

First of all, how are you gonna block me, second of all, I never touched that page, third of all it was a reasonable edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.122.237.11 (talk) 17:42, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Re:Editor Review

I meant that you should ask an admin or experienced editor to nominate you, they will check you and decide if you are admin material, if they say no, than ask why, and assume that you just aren't ready for adminship at the time. <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 20:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

My RfA?

Hi StormTracker! I'm very humbled by the fact that you would nominate me for adminship. However, I don't think that my RfA would do very well; I've only been registered since September and had several gaffes since then including tagging an image as invalid fair use when it actually had {{Non-free use rationale}} on the page (I somehow didn't see it) and warning a user with {{uw-wrongsummary}} when in fact they were reverting vandalism. I don't think I would have any problems with an RfA in a month or two, however. Thanks again for asking! NF24(radio me!) 01:14, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

The BoSox Award

I hate to break it to you, but the award you created is a copyright violation. You included the team's logo, which is copyrighted. It's fair use, but only on pages related to the Red Sox, and certainly not in the user of wikipedia namespaces. I suggest you simply take the old logo and use that instead. If you have questions, please review WP:NFCC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sasha Callahan (talkcontribs) 22:48, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Barnstar

The BoSox Barnstar
You definitely deserve this barnstar as well. You are currently the longest-standing member of the project (besides myself) and have done very well recruiting; you are one of the project's most active editors. You also created this barnstar, which deserves recognition. I hereby award you the Bosox Barnstar. (And Thank You for the Barnstar you left me!)   jj137 Talk 23:13, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
No problem, you deserve it. (And you might want to see this, by the way. I'm not sure what's it's about.)   jj137 Talk 01:46, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter

That sounds great. I'll give you a few ideas I had and see what you think:

  • I would prefer weekly over monthly. It doesn't have to be anything big or amazing each week, but some content people would be interested in.
  • We could create a subpage (probably Wikipedia:WikiProject Boston Red Sox/Newsletter) where people can place their name if they would like to receive the newsletter each week. Each individual newsletter would be in a subpage of that, I guess.
  • Since it is the offseason, there isn't much to write about. We could just have a few "featured articles" (no, not the featured articles, but some interesting articles.)
  • We could deliver it each Sunday. That will give us a week to write the first one, should we start today.
  • We could place info about it at the main page, the talk page, and the yet-unused announcements board.

Tell me what you think of this.   jj137 Talk 17:48, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Red Sox Letter

Hey Stormtracker, I'm Joker, the sixth member of the BoSox project.

Thats not true that there is nothing to write about during the off season. Theres the Santana deal going around, Willis and Miguel, Glavine getting signed, Andy Pettite, Mike Lowell. You know where I'm going with this. Check out my user page. You'll see what I mean.

GO SOX! =) --HPJoker (talk) 19:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Team news? I think it would be a bit harder since most of the Red Sox deals are done. There's only one guy I could write about at the top of my head now. Johan Santana, whom I am against coming to the Red Sox because he costs to much and in my opinion, we don't need anymore starting pitching. Could you help me think of some more ideas for Red Sox writing? I have the MLB thing down because of the Winter Meetings, but Red Sox writing maybe a bit of trouble. --HPJoker (talk) 19:59, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
You need to learn! It's Gag-me, son. lol. I forgot about Gagne because of how miserable he was. I heard he could be taking Corderos place as closer for the Brewers. Didn't Cordero sign with the Reds? —Preceding unsigned comment added by HPJoker (talkcontribs) 20:07, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
What is a team signing summary? Like all of the Red Sox stuff? --HPJoker (talk) 20:49, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I think Santana would be easier. I'll do that. What do I need to do? How do I create a subpage for it? --HPJoker (talk) 22:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
So do I just go to create page and enter that? --HPJoker (talk) 23:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Created. Check it out! --HPJoker (talk) 03:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter template

To tell you the truth, that's insanely awesome. I'm not very good with that sort of thing (the formatting, etc.) but I think that's a lot better style than some other WikiProject newsletter templates I've seen. Well done.   jj137 Talk 20:18, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Yep. I'll try to find some info to write about.   jj137 Talk 20:22, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
You can come up with ones yourself. If people suggest articles, we should probably use those too. We probably wouldn't be able to actually write an article about an article (well, maybe, anything is possible), but we can list a few on the template (or something along those lines).   jj137 Talk 20:26, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
You may want to fix the newsletter. The text below the header is invisible now.   jj137 Talk 02:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Two other things I've thought of. We could have some sort of template to place on each newsletter page (or most of them) for easier navigation. Also, keep in mind this isn't being published until next Sunday, so be careful with past tense, time usage, etc.   jj137 Talk 04:29, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

I am glad I am not the only person reverting the repeat edits to Carbon monoxide:) --Natasha (talk) 22:37, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the barnstar it is my first one:) Thank you:)

Project News

For now I think it is; if there is any more news that comes in the next six days, I'll add it.   jj137 Talk 00:15, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

We don't have to set the limit at three. I mean, we could always write more, and/or make the ones we have better.   jj137 Talk 00:17, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

Awesome I'd love to be adopted by you lol. Wiki markup is something that I need to work on. Also do you know how to create graphics with photoshop. . .I've been trying to learn to do that recently. Well anyway thanks for adopting me. Rearete (talk) 00:53, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Some questions

Hey I thought I'd drop by and ask a couple of questions. First off when reviewing user pages I have often seen the sets of numbers and text that are "committed identities" I know that there for creating a way to verify that the owner of an account is the actuall owner in case of account comfirmation. I was wondering how I can get one. Also I was wondering how you got that A-bomb animation on the side of your userpage. Rearete (talk) 23:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
