WP:FILMS Welcome
Hey, welcome to WikiProject Films! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films, awards, festivals, filmmaking, and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for February has been published. April's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Announcements template to see how you can help.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 (talk) 08:55, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Your RfA
Hello EclipseSSD, I'm sorry to inform you that I've closed your RfA as unsuccessful. Please don't be put off by this, take account of the opinions of those who opposed your promotion and consider running again in the future. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you'd like to discuss this further. All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 16:08, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Rollback
Rollback is only to be used for simple, obvious vandalism. Changing "when it's done" to TBA is a content dispute (and WP:UNDO says that you should provide a reason, as well, for the previous revert). The anonyous user adding the RE event in 2002 was done in good faith especially because there's an entry for an RE game. Both deserve explanations, not a rollback summary. If you revert again in such a manner I will revoke your rollback privilege. hbdragon88 (talk) 17:15, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:The Independence of the Seas.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:The Independence of the Seas.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kjetil r (talk) 19:21, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Independence of the Seas.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:The Independence of the Seas.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:20, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Activision Blizzard
The merger being confirmed by the EU does not mean it has come into effect yet. I'd refrain from editing articles to imply that it has before it has officially come into being. -- Sabre (talk) 17:53, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Beverly Hills Cop (film series)
Just letting you know that I quick-failed Beverly Hills Cop (film series) as a GA. Overall, I find it to be severely underdeveloped (even as a navigational hub); the lead is only one sentence long, for starters, and good chunks of the article are unreferenced. Taking it to the talk page...
Just a heads up; Talk:Age_of_Empires#The_games_table. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 11:00, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
I have placed the GA nomination for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on hold for now. Mainly I have issues with some weasel words — one sentence I removed from the intro, for instance, had "first time viewers may be surprised". I think I also caught a sentence with "you can't" in there. Overall, there are a ton of issues with the prose. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 18:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- It looks better. There still aren't any sources for the plot, however, and the references need to be formatted with citation templates such as {{cite web}}. (Also, the ref tags should go after punctucation, not before it.) Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 19:50, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- There is a source for the plot though. It's put right at the end.--EclipseSSD (talk) 20:09, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops, didn't catch that. Anyway, it looks good enough now, I'll promote it. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 13:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: TCM
Looks better, although I don't know if a Sequels section is required. If you look at other film articles that have sequels, I don't think they mention their sequels (in detail), beyond stating that they have a sequel. LOCE is a not very effective; you need to actively contact participants of the project and ask for a copyedit. Gary King (talk) 14:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Call of Duty & RP
Hello there. Two things: one, Call of Duty World at War has not been confirmed. Unless you can provide a reliable source, please don't add it back. The shacknews article can't really be taken as reliable. Also, you added the ESRB rating "Rating Pending" to Midnight Club. This is a nn rating (why not add the fact that ratings are pending in all regions?), it adds nothing to the article, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't add it to any more =) Thanks!
