Buddhist Temple

Dear 28bytes,

Thank you for your help. I would like to create/list the name of our Buddhist temple located in Houston, Texas, USA in the Buddhist Temple Category in Wikipedia. I am new at this, I've read many article, but still confused. Our web-address is www.wat-buddharangsey.org, I saw there were a few temples in Texas, USA, I would like to include our Cambodian Buddhist Temple in that section/category. Please help. Thanks Timkeo (talk) 03:18, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Timkeo. We have an article for Wat Buddhavas of Houston; is that the same temple you're speaking about? 28bytes (talk) 04:26, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi 28bytes, Wat Buddharangsey of Houston, Texas is not the same as Wat Buddhavas. We are Cambodian Temple NOT Thai. We practice Khmer Theravada. Thanks 108.199.181.6 (talk) 04:14, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

OK. In that case it doesn't appear there is an article for that temple; I would have recommended you try Articles for Creation to get one started, but it looks like you have already got started on that. I see that User:ChrisGualtieri has reviewed your submission, so he may be able to help point you towards some tips that will help you determine whether an article for your temple is appropriate for inclusion here. Good luck! 28bytes (talk) 22:44, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi there! I need to repair the title of my first article.

Hi there, 28bytes! I was wondering if you could assist me in repairing the title to my article: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphonso_king_jr._II). It currently reads "Alphonso king jr. II" and I'd like it to read "Alphonso King Jr. II"-- it's merely an issue of capitalization. I apologize if this is something I can fix on my own&&thank you in advance for your help!

Looks like someone else just fixed it. 28bytes (talk) 07:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Usurpation

Hi, you completed my request for a username change/usurpation, but apperently something went wrong, since the log refers to a user called 'Nelg (usurped)', and the contributions from my former account User:Chrishelenius haven't been appended to User:Nelg, my current name. —Preceding undated comment added 21:22, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

User:Nelg (usurped) is the account that used to be Nelg before you usurped that username; it looks like all of your contributions except two are showing up at Special:Contributions/Nelg like they should, except for two made right after the name change. Those two were likely made while you were still logged in as Chrishelenius. Hope that helps. 28bytes (talk) 22:40, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Rename request

Done, but please don't do things like this or this again, or you are likely to be blocked from editing. 28bytes (talk) 02:54, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi, can you look into this rename again? He's asked me to fix it, but I won't be able to look into it. Thank you. - Taxman Talk 02:39, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
Looks like he continued to edit (inadvertently, probably) as User:Xeberkeley for a couple of days after the rename went through. Not much we can do to merge those contributions to User:PrairieKid, unfortunately. :/ 28bytes (talk) 22:58, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Fylbecatulous requires human admin assistance

Greetings and salutations ツ I am working my way down the December log of 28bot to resolve some of what I call the "leftover toughies". I do not want to give diffs because of what will soon be self-evident, but in the article University of the Arts (Philadelphia) 28bot has logged an "AB" edit test I can remove but more remains that was overlooked during the earlier vandalism event. (It's in the history where an edit and summary was made to vanish.) What needs to disappear is in the infobox under the item students=. Do you have admin magic dust that says "poof, be gone"? Thanks! Fylbecatulous talk 15:59, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

I reverted to the last ClueBot version, but if I missed anything that needs to be rev-deleted, would you be so kind as to email me the diffs? Thanks again for plowing through these "toughies." :) 28bytes (talk) 23:47, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
December log is now clear except two that I wished for another editor to solve the decision on how to handle. If it seems that I always ignore a few each month; that's why. That special someone turns out to be you after 28bot has moved on to the next month...Thanks again and you're welcome. Plowing is good for my well-being. Fylbecatulous talk 21:08, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
Good work! Glad you find the plowing therapeutic. :) I'm going to be updating the bot with some new functionality this week, so it's good that there will be an old log page for it to play with. After that I'll try to knock off the remaining articles if no one's beaten me to it. 28bytes (talk) 21:11, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Crat statement draft

Hi 28bytes

Following the drama at BN, I'm trying to come up with a statement all Crats could agree to. Please take a look, below.

I am quite content to do this onwiki -we have always worked transparently, except where secrecy is essential (ie RTV). I think we should be able to wordsmith a statement acceptable to all, and I think it's an important thing to do.

  1. In my opinion, this issue has come about through an unfortunate proliferation of documentation: policy, guideline, how-to etc
  2. I am not convinced that there is community consensus on all of the points encapsulated in those various pages
  3. I am unhappy at what may be described as some or all of: inconsistencies, inaccuracies or lack of clarity in that documentation
  4. I do not believe that any of the issues we have faced have been caused by Crats trying to widen their powers
  5. I would like to see the issues clarified, based on consensus, and for the documentation to be updated accordingly
  6. I'd like to thank Griot-de for generously withdrawing the rename request

Signed

Lmk what you think. Many thanks, --Dweller (talk) 13:32, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

That seems to cover it well; I'd be comfortable signing that. Cheers, 28bytes (talk) 16:46, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel

I would like to request that revisions using my name (jayfriday) be deleted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephardic_Temple_Tifereth_Israel

I have been getting abusive mail as a result of this and would appreciate it if the jayfriday edits were removed from public view. Thanks.Mayasephard (talk) 07:35, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Silver Living

Hi There - My new page Silver Living was marked for speedy deletion, and then deleted. I'm confused why it was deleted because it followed exactly the same model and content for another company in this space, and we even had more citations from news articles. Can you advise how I can modify it to correct it? Also, can you email me a copy of the page that was removed?

Thanks! Talziv (talk) 18:26, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Talziv. At first glance the page you wrote does not appear to meet the criteria for speedy deletion, so I will check with the admin who deleted it to see if I'm missing something. 28bytes (talk) 06:08, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
After discussion with the deleting admin I have restored the article. Happy editing! 28bytes (talk) 17:42, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Hey friend

Bryan Loren turns out to be an interesting figure from the 1980's music scene. I found more information from his career, and hope to work some of the material into the article, soon. I wanted to also thank you for inviting my help. Needless to say, it's well known that I write terribly, and rather odd for anyone to suggest otherwise, let alone invite my collaboration. Suffice it by saying "it is a very rare occurrence". An additional thanks on a project stand. Loren was a significant find of our missing articles; no longer missing. I hope you'll think of me again, if you run across another such gem. And yet, there are so many worth writing, still left to do. Cheers—My76Strat (talk) 21:33, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Strat, I really appreciate the great work you've done fleshing out the article. If you're up for another one, I've got another hit producer in mind who currently has no article; just let me know if you have the time and inclination to do another expansion, and I'll get an article started for him. Cheers, 28bytes (talk) 21:47, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm always interested. You are welcome to drop a link or create a sub-page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Record Production/Workshop#Create sub-page any time you feel like a subject's article is missing. Beginning the work in project space affords more time to get things together, and still meet DYK criteria for new articles. So yes, any time is fine. Account usurpation

Hi 28bytes, I use name Jdx at commonswiki, plwiki and a few others. That's why I would like also to take over this name at enwiki. There should be no problem because the account seems to be dormant - just one edit since March 2005. Thanks in advance, Jdx@plwiki — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.42.242.200 (talk) 01:39, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi Jdx. The best thing to do is follow the instructions at WP:USURP, and if the current account holder does not object to the usurpation within 7 days, a bureaucrat will perform the usurp for you. 28bytes (talk) 02:32, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

help

Wikipedia is too confusing. I read a page about changing names and it is too hard to follow. It did mention that bureaucrats can do this and you are one.

Please change my username to SMK2013. I don't think it's a good idea to use a real name, such as Melissa Ketunuti. Thank you! SupportMelissaKetunuti (talk) 00:06, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Today's article for improvement and the main page

The development for TAFI has progressed significantly over the last few weeks, and we are prepared to launch the new feature on the main page for Feb 9th at 0:00 UTC. Concensus was established that the TAFI content should be placed below the DYK content. An example page has been created to show what it would look like. I would like to invite you and several other admins who have recently edited the Main Page to swing by this discussion to help us hammer out the final logistics of integrating the content onto the main page. --NickPenguin(contribs) 18:01, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
