Suggestion

edit

Hello, Aficionado538! Having in mind some of the userboxes on your userpage, you might be interested in endorsing WP:NOCONFED and its content. Of course, this is just a suggestion, nothing more. Cheers! — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 16:37, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Sundostund Done! Also, some cool userboxes you have there. (Don't be surprised that I stole some of them 😄). Aficionado538 (talk) 18:49, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! Please, feel free to add your name here, if you want so. As for userboxes – I am glad that you like them, and you can steal as much as you want; I did the same at various other userpages, more than once :) — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 19:17, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also, if you know some other users who might be interested in this essay, please inform them about it! — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 19:54, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Demographics of Botswana, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kalanga and Ndebele language. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sources for politics/history in Botswana

edit

Hello! I've been trying to write content about African politics, and I've been focusing particularly on Botswana. Since you seem to be the main editor active in this area, I was wondering if you had any ideas on where to find sources. Most online Motswana newspapers are paywalled, and I can't find much about politicians from the 20th century anywhere. Most of what I've been adding lately has been from one book. Are there any websites that you've found helpful? I'd especially like to get 2nd Parliament of Botswana through 9th Parliament of Botswana created, but I just can't find any record of who was there. Hello! I'm glad to hear about your interest in writing content about African politics, particularly focusing on Botswana. It can be challenging to find sources, but I might have some suggestions to help you with your research.
1. For general election reports from 1965 through 2019 (excluding 1979 and 1984), the IEC is a valuable resource. Utilize their official records to gather information on past election results and constituencies. I used the general election reports through a quick Google search and used the 2019 one to create the 12th Parliament of Botswana page.
2. Although many Motswana newspapers are paywalled, you can still explore other avenues for information. Academic research and published books can provide valuable insights into historical events and politicians from the 20th century. These sources are often reliable and well-documented.
3. Since you are particularly interested in the 2nd Parliament through the 9th Parliament of Botswana, I can aid you by reaching out to libraries, research institutions, or the Botswana National Archives and Records Services that might have relevant records and documents on the parliamentary sessions during those periods.
4. Don't hesitate to contact me for assistance, I don't really prefer using the Wikipedia talk page for this as it might be a lengthy process, my socials are shown in my userpage. If that's okay with you, if course. I'll do my best to help you access additional sources and information about Botswana's elections and political history. I'm looking forward to creating articles about all the 57 constituencies which including past results once I get a hold of the '79 and '84 reports. Best of luck with your editing and I appreciate your interest in Botswana's elections. Thanks! Aficionado538 (talk) 19:31, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Those citations are too much. Please tell me why tons of citations should be used??? Aficionado538 (talk) 15:42, 7 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
