Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (con.)
Hello, Alanna the Brave...
I just wanted to say that you've done an amazing job on Chief Ransome-Kuti's page. It seems as though you've combed every nook and cranny to find the appropriate references. It's taken me this long to give up trying on that score, so I can only marvel at your tenacity. You found what I didn't think existed online, and for that I salute you.
Here's hoping that you're well.

- Thank you O.ominirabluejack! I hope you're well too. I've certainly done my best to comb the Internet, but I'm lucky enough to have access to some good local libraries as well. I think Ransome-Kuti's page is looking pretty solid at this point -- I only have a few more edits to make before I nominate it for a Good Article review. McGill
Funnily enough, I was just reading it today since I saw it pop up in my watchlist. It's definitely expanded a lot since the peer review! I love the case subsections and think it's a good way to present that information, though I don't know if there's any precedent for that kind of presentation. I hope people won't raise a fuss about it in FAC. I don't see any glaring red flags, and everything seems to be structurally sound. I think you still may want to mention that McGill came up with her own case names; I'm assuming the three case names you have listed were names that she coined herself? bibliomaniac15 01:05, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Bibliomaniac15: Thanks! :-) Fingers crossed. Hmm -- on reflection, I'm actually not sure if those three case names came from McGill (I pulled them from chapter headings in the Myrna Petersen source). The case name examples most often raised include the Deserted Shack Murder, the Bran Muffin Case, the Sand Dunes Murder and the Straw Stack Murders, but I went with three different cases instead (slightly less sensational, but interesting). Do you think it would be worthwhile adding one or two others, or is three a good number? I'd like to re-add the fact that she named some of her cases, but it may seem out of place if I'm not covering those specific incidents. Alanna the Brave (talk) 22:36, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- I think it's up to you, but three seems like an ideal number. bibliomaniac15 23:24, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- Alrighty -- I'll check this week and see if any other cases seem like good/better candidates (I could always just replace one), but I won't sweat it too much. I appreciate the comments! Alanna the Brave (talk) 23:33, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

I'm just leaving you a courtesy notice that the nominator has not edited in over three months. I have reached out to them with an email, but it may not be worth the effort to review the article. dannymusiceditor oops 18:12, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi DannyMusicEditor -- thanks for reaching out. The nominator's disappearance is unfortunate (though not totally surprising, given the six-month wait), but I'm still going to complete the review and give them 7 days to respond. Even if they don't respond in time, the review may still help them (or someone else) bring the article up to GA in future. Alanna the Brave (talk) 19:34, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Hey Alanna. I am hoping that all is well for you and am wondering if you have time to look over this article that I am developing. I asked Gog the Mild to assist me, specifically because he is not from the US (and thus would be likely to catch historic things about context that needed development) nor is he a women's scholar (and thus would be able to evaluate it from a broad perspective). In that regard, I think the article would benefit from input by people who do specifically work on women's articles to ensure that the depth and focus is covered adequately. Haven't found a US reviewer yet, but still working on that. We are planning to nominate it on the 25th, so if you have time to review it, it would be appreciated. If you are too busy, no worries. SusunW (talk) 14:35, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hey Susun! Sure, I'm happy to take a look. I'll have some time on Saturday. I hope all is well for you too -- I feel like 2020 has chewed me up and spit me out, but that seems to be a pretty universal feeling. ;-) Looking forward to some proper rest over the holidays. Alanna the Brave (talk) 15:55, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it. And yes, between health issues, hurricane issues, pandemic issues, etc. I just do not think I have the energy to do a GA review, followed by a peer review, followed by a FA review. Gog thinks it is ready to go straight to FA, but I am still nervous. :S Just want to make sure we have covered most of the aspects that we need to for context. Truly appreciate your help. Invitation
The poll tax article, your questions about nationality/coverture, and Gog's pointing me to the Birthright citizenship article for the US, made me finally decide to bite the bullet on the problem of women's nationality and just work on it. I imagine it will take all year, but I think it is a very important and long-neglected topic. If you are interested in helping develop it, I would be thrilled. If you are busy with other things, I totally understand that too. Hope you and yours have a lovely holiday season. May we all have a better (and less stressful) 2021. SusunW (talk) 16:00, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- @SusunW: Wow -- that's an ambitious project, but it's certainly a neglected topic worth tackling (I'd never heard anything about women's nationality issues until we discussed it for your poll tax repeal article). I don't know if I can take on a major role, but I'm happy to pitch in, and for now I'll offer the following: I can tackle research/writing for the Canadian section of the article, and I can provide copy editing support for the rest of the article as it's developed. I hope you have a lovely holiday season too -- we'll talk again in the new year! Alanna the Brave (talk) 20:12, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yay! That is exactly what I was hoping you would say. I have plugged in some sources in the Canadian section, some of which you may need to ask the Resource Exchange to provide. (I am very curious if Quebec's situation was different). Thank you so much. SusunW (talk) 20:25, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
