Dear Amazigh Man. Please stop adding the word Amazigh to every Berber word. In teh article Berbers, there is a long definition explaining it so there's no need to re-add it everytime.
The Berbers (also called Amazigh people or Imazighen, "free men", singular Amazigh) are an ethnic group indigenous to Northwest Africa, speaking the Berber languages of the Afroasiatic family. In actuality, Berber is a generic name given to numerous heterogeneous ethnic groups that share similar cultural, political, and economic practices. It is not a term originated by the group itself, and indeed the word may have been derived from the Latin 'barbari', the forerunner of the English word 'barbarian'. There are between 14 and 25 million speakers of Berber languages in North Africa (see population estimation), principally concentrated in Morocco and Algeria but with smaller communities as far east as Egypt and as far south as Burkina Faso. --- From Berbers.

License tagging for Image:Tha Kingdom.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tha Kingdom.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:08, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Casablanca hotel.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 23:04, 23 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Map

edit

Hi, please do not simply re-add that map to Berber people and Berber languages. It is unsourced, potentially misleading, and certainly a little optimistic as to the spread of the Imazighen throughout the Maghreb. Please see the very important reliable sources and cite sources policies for information on Wikipedia's verifiability requirements. Kind regards, — mark 13:01, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Amazigh letters.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Amazigh letters.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 18:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Algeria - sensitive subject

edit

hello Amazigh Man, I've seen that you just have edited the Algeria article. I appreciate your contributions, but I must tell you that the subject is quite sensitive right now - we had a lot of vandalism a few days ago by a certain Berber-freeman which was not at all helpful, so we might be a little oversensitive right now when the subject Arabs vs Berber is touched. Please try not to edit any such subjects without prior discussion on the talkpage. Deleting for example membership of Algeria in the Arab League is not acceptable. Deleting of Algeria as being part of the "Arab World" could be acceptable, but must be discussed first - we can't just go and do it, as others think different. The best thing is to source any edit you make - if you want to put that the Ait Mazghanna tribe is Berber - which I agree it is - than the best thing is to look for a source which labels this tribe as "Berber" (there must be some). Then we will put back the word Berber with the reference and nobody can delete it. But we must work this carefully, I hope you understand me. Thanks and best wishes--Ilyacadiz (talk) 16:17, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Morocco - unsourced edits

edit

You have recently made a few changes to the Morocco article without citing reliable sources (or any sources at all). I remind you that any changes you make must be sourced, especially if they could be contentious. I agree, for example, that the demographic figures given in the Morocco article are preposterous. I do not think, for example, that it is likely that 80% of Morocco is Arab (read Arabophone). However the information is sourced (even though the source is not highly reliable) and if you are to change this information you must give a reliable source to suggest that this is not the case. Other edits are simply unacceptable. For example, you removed the sentence stating that Morocco is the third most populous Arab country. You must realize that though you may not perceive it as such, many do perceive Morocco as an Arab country (including the Moroccan government), and the information was reliably sourced (the CIA Factbook was cited). If you wish to remove such material, please use the talk page to discuss such changes beforehand. Thank you. Elostirion (talk) 17:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Foto wanted for Nador transmitter

edit

Hi, I see that you made several edits on Nador and related articles. During my last visit to Nador I made (new) pictures of the Nador transmitter but the pics I took of the main masts (the high ones) are not suitable for usage on Wiki (or anywhere else). If you live in Nador or visit if regulary, could you maybe make a picture of the main masts and the add it to the article.

Just for info: I updated the article on Nador Railway stations (new txt and new pics) (and also some new articles and photos on: Fes railway station, Taourirt, Fes–Oujda expressway etc). If you have any additions for these articles: please feel free to do so. As I'm originally from The Netherlands I write both on the English Wiki as well as on the Dutch Wiki [nl.wikipedia.org nl.wikipedia.org].

I want to write an article on Gourougou: so if you have any info/pics on that please upload them and let me know where to find them. Cheers, (PS: Most of my earlier additions to above lemmas were made under my old name Tonkie67. Tonkie (talk) 22:12, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
