Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Anahit Saribekyan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:47, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello
- I do not have an external relationship.
- I would like to delete the link you have mentioned but can't see the article I have made. Where may I find it? I can't see it in my sandbox anymore the Dance Day. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 16:01, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Do you not describe yourself on your website as
"Web designer of more than 60 Scientific Dance websites under the auspices of the International Dance Council"
? That sure sounds like an external relationship with the subject(s) you're editing about. In light of this, would you like to reconsider your response? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:05, 3 October 2024 (UTC)- I would like to reconsider my question as the aim is totally different I want to concentrate on it our attention and energy.
- How is it possible to highlight and lighten an information on an official programs of the official organization on dance in the Globe that is aimed to unite all Dancers of the World?
- I am a web-designer of the websites of the International Dance Council (I wonder where I have mentioned this information here? or you made a research on me?) and all my work is done on volunteer bases.
- Let me know if you need a payment?
- Let me know if you need an official letters?
- Wiki policy is new to me.
- Thank you in advance Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 06:55, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- If you are being paid, directly or indirectly, for your efforts to edit Wikipedia, you must make a paid-editing disclosure by placing the {{paid}} template, duly filled in, on your user page.
- If you are not being paid or otherwise rewarded, or have any financial interest or stake, then you still need to disclose a general conflict of interest, by placing the {{User COI}} template on your user page.
- You must make either of these disclosures at once, as required by Wikipedia's terms and conditions. We can address other matters you have raised afterwards.
- There is no need for any 'official letters', and certainly no payment (in fact, if anyone ever asks you for money, it is likely to be a scam of some sort, see WP:SCAM). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:17, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- I am not payed at all for this I want to share. It is totally based on my will to spread the programs.
- I do not understand how to prove that I am really interested to share this all with people and share the true and correct information.
- I need to study now how User COI works, so complicated for me...
- I hope you may direct me. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 07:26, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Would you like me to place the User COI template on your user page for you? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:29, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oh please, do so, thank you so much !!!!
- In touch and have a very productive day ahead ! Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 08:01, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I've done this for you. Please review the disclosure at User:Anahit Saribekyan to make sure you're happy with it (it is yours, not mine, after all). Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:22, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you for your response.
- Thing is that the official name of the event is Dance Day. It is said in the text. Somehow people language changes and organizations that has no clue to dance but took over the event, started to represent with non official way. Let me know your opinion how we may have official information on this Global event with correct links and screenshot photo I have mentioned in my article. Thank you Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 12:17, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- Your own submission says its the same as International Dance Day and we do not have two articles for the same subject. That page links to this that says the name is "International Dance Day" and the site says "official website for International Dance Day". The screenshot in your article from UNESCO also says "International Dance Day", but it is also from 2014 and I currently see nothing on unesco.org saying about "International Dance Day" or "Dance Day". If you google "Dance Day" you mostly get hits for "International Dance Day". This appears to be the International Dance Council rebranding/naming the day but Wikipedia uses WP:COMMONNAME. However it still stands that we will not accept another article for the same subject, naming issues and proposed renames should be discussed on the article talk page and using Wikipedia:Requested moves. KylieTastic (talk) 13:10, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer. Thing is that ITI is the organization for the Theater and without any permission took the program Dance Day long ago and this mess has started. In UNESCO old website there was a lot of information on Dance Day International Dance Council but due to this steps from ITI there is no information not on CID not on ITI on new UNESCO platform, which is sad.
- The screenshot is from the old UNESCO website. It is the policy of the UNESCO not to deal with such cases at all but the organization CID that has done GLOBAL work in order to make the Dance Day event known World Wide, some other organization takes and makes a mess.
- As professionals and people from a World Encyclopedia, inform me please, how we may proceed this case. In the page International Dance Day page in Wiki there is lot of fake information that I can not correct.
- Official dance day website is https://danceday.cid-world.org/
- Dance Day is an event by CID UNESCO - the official organization an NGO on Dance, International Dance Council. https://articles.unesco.org/sites/default/files/medias/fichiers/2023/11/List%20NGOs%20official%20partnership%20-%20Liste%20ONG%20partenariat%20officiel_November%202023.pdf
- page 11
- ITI is a Theater organization and it is not clear why they need to celebrate Dance Day as their event. They also may celebrate but the event belong to the Dance organization that is CID.
- Please, let me know how we may go on with this case and thank you a lot for your professional approach. May be in my article I may delete the name International Dance Day and unlink the page made by ITI?
- You may see that serious Dance organizations mention CID as Dance Day event organizer. Celebrities as well are well informed on DD - Dance Day. It's just an event and the true information must be spread in the Official World Wide Eternal Encyclopedia. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 13:45, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia works by many polices and guidelines: three that are of note are using independent reliable sources, principles consensus Wikipedia:Consensus and WP:COMMONNAME. So we have the International Theatre Institute with https://www.international-dance-day.org/ claiming they are the "official website for International Dance Day" and they are "the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO", then we have the International Dance Council with https://danceday.cid-world.org/ claiming they are the "official website of Dance Day". Both for the same day both saying they are backed by UNESCO. Unfortunately, the https://web.archive.org/ is down so I can't check the history. The ITI says here "Unfortunately there is another organization that claims they created International Dance Day." and they link to a copy of this letter by "Mr Pérez de Armiñán, UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Culture" backing there claim. According to this on unesco.org "ITI founded International Dance Day". Unlike your article statement to be just like Mother's Day this is not true as that like most of the big recognised days is not backed by any official organisation or website. I also found on unesco.org this letter from Ms Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, that I note mentions neither organisations although a search of mentions of "dance day" on unesco.org this I only see it called "International Dance Day". Looking at the the independent news and other reliable sources this year the BBC, redbull Euronews CNBC all say "International Dance Day". So per our WP:COMMONNAME policy International Dance Day does look to be the correct name, but the article is not good and need much improvement and much more independent reliable sources. IMHO no true internationally celebrated day should have an official website, it should be for everyone to celebrate and frankly both organisations should be working together to encourage the celebration of dance and not trying to take ownership. If you want to ask for other opinions you could try at the Wikipedia:Teahouse or the Wikipedia:Help desk. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:53, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your research. I know all this articles you have mentioned. From 2015 ITI with Chinese dance professionals started a propaganda of DD by ITI. But the Dance Day was created by UNESCO in 1982 and it is CID that takes care of it. You may remember that last mention by UNESCO old platforma was in 2014 that they mention to celebrate Dance Day with CID.
- Unfortunately it is an unpleasant situation.
- Dance Day event was changed by people and made as an International Dance Day. That is what described in my article on DD event.
- I can not do changes even in the wiki page of International Dance Day - ITI imidiately remakes them all.
- You say that Wiki are using independent reliable sources, but whenever I put sources it is banned.
- I hope soonest your archived will be fine and you may check the history and give some solution.
- CID and ITI are NGOs of UNESCO.
- CID - is an official Dance organization.
- ITI - is a Theater organization and is just trying with all ways to take over DD program. I care less why ...
- CID has done a huge job in order for DD event be celebrated Globally. It's like a brand. And when you create something and your neighbor takes it and makes his, not a pleasant situation.
- Just see the situation from aside.
- I am objective for this case. Hope for the solution one day on this issue. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 17:38, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to add
- DD website by CID - an official websites
- 1. on Google platform since 2009 to 2014
- https://sites.google.com/site/sites/system/errors/WebspaceNotFound?path=%2Fdancedayofficialsite%2F - does not work now as it is erased by Google
- 2. on Joomla since January 2014 to 2020 March
- http://danceday.cid-portal.org/
- 3. on wordpress from January 2020 till now
- https://danceday.cid-world.org/
- CID does not claim ownership of the International Dance Day, it belongs to all dancers.
- The ITI claims ownership although it admits that International Dance Day was founded in association with the CID.
- There is no doubt that the ITI is the official organization for theater, while the CID is the official organization for dance, both being official partners of UNESCO. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 15:10, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- The wayback machine works now.
- Seraching the link I have mentioned in my article as a picture snapshot:
- you may see it was made in 2014.
- As well you may saerch in the same wayback machine: UNESCO Dance Day CID, it brings article data since 1997 on the official UNESCO.org website.
- Let me know how else we may go forward for this case.
- Thank you in advance. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 16:36, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- An official letter of 2003 on Dance Day mentioning International Dance Council, archive of the UNESCO official website.

- I was trying to ignore this as I'm currently having real-life issues and not very functional but I need to try to end this. Yes, both organisations promote the same day as the current International Dance Day now says. I have already updated the article to show this and include both organisations in both the lead section and in the external links. This source from the unesco verifies the ITI as the founders and it's clear that both organisations have rightly promoted the day for a long time. I updated the article to list both as promoters as both clearly are big promoters for many years, but they do not own the day. Both organisations appear to have treated the International Dance Day article like their own place to promote and I see most reverts by neutral editors. Frankly the idea that both organisations don't work either separately or together to promote the day and dance in general but are more concerned with getting the credit and both claiming to be "official site" is frankly yet one one more item on the the daily growing list of humans failings the depresses me. Going from news sources a search on newspapers.com has 16 hits for "dance day" and "International Dance Council" (from 2001), and 31 for "dance day" and "International Theatre Institute" (from 1986) but there are hundreds for "International Dance Day" with neither mentioned. As such the article should not promote either and any requests for any additions should be with fully independent reliable sources. If you have any specific change request you should make them on the article talk page with sources and adding an Wikipedia:Simple conflict of interest edit request. Or if you want to discus more in general with multiple experienced editors and admins start a discussion at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. KylieTastic (talk) 19:57, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Ms. Kylie!
- Hope all your issues will be solved soon.
- I will not make you tire with this issue any more.
- I did my best from my side being objective and seeing what is boiled indeed from the inside.
- On the old platform of the official website of UNESCO there were dozens of articles and documents on DD and CID. Unfortunately they all are erased. The only screenshot I have is that tiny small picture. I could not imagine that such an organization one day will erase such important historical articles. The reason why all these prove was erased I do not understand. Leave it.
- All the articles and official letters on ITI are very new and forced made.
- I found article from 2003 and it is in a very diplomatic way describing about CID and DD.
- Any way thank you for your professional approach and collaboration.
- Whenever you are in Athens, let me know, I will organize a meeting with the CID President office that is located right under the Acropolis. You will be able to describe the world of dance there.
- As well whenever you are in Paris, let me know and I will organize a meeting with our headquarters that are in UNESCO building so you may have a nice culture journey within the heritages from all over the World.
- I would like to share new article programs of CID and post them here in Wiki and also share some information on me as well as a dance researcher and choreographer.
- So let us finish this case so I will be able to fill the sandbox with new articles. AS I may understand the system does not give multiple options of posting articles, it must be done one by one.
- Thank you again and have a very productive day ahead! Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 06:39, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

- I would like you to pay your attention for the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Dance_Day at
- International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, established in 1982 by the International Theatre Institute.
- There is no such protocol of 1982 to prove that the event was established by ITI.
- Message https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000233931 was made in 2015 out of the air, just words and no prove.
- The Dance Day was established by UNESCO and it is International Dance Council - an official DANCE organization of UNESCO that starts promotion of it.
- I find the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Dance_Day inappropriate and full of fake information, while you may see in this chat that I gave you enough prove on Dance Day event article. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 14:55, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

- This is the official information for the dancers of the Globe in order to be able to certify their students. All the work done for the certification is on volunteer bases and there is no commercial reason. All the links are reliable and talks about the true spread of the help for dance schools to act more secure and confident.
- Let me know in which direction to make the changes.

- Thanks (I think...) for the ping, @Qcne.
- I don't know what impact such an e-mail would have on the use of copyrighted materials, but I'll leave that for the permissions team to worry about.
- Even if the problem of copyright violation is resolved, my other issue with this draft, that it was written as a sales pitch and not as an encyclopaedia article, remains. It may be possible to write a purely factual, neutral article about this qualification, but this wasn't it. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:57, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response.
- I will change the text with the needed version ASAP. Anahit Saribekyan (talk) 13:47, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

International Certification of Dance Studies moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to International Certification of Dance Studies. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 09:30, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please do not create articles directly in the main article space on subjects in which you have a conflict of interest. Put them through the AfC review process instead. Thank you, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:37, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
