Image question

Hello, I wanted to add an image for this article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimefighters

It's an article about a role-playing game. Except I did not want upload any copyrighted material.

The image I wanted to upload was the first image in this link, it's a PDF image collection of the game from a 1981 issue of a U.S. magazine called Dragon, see link below.

http://www.rollenspiel-almanach.de/wp-content/uploads/Crimefighters.pdf

I just wanted to check with an administrator if this image would be acceptable to upload to Wikipedia.

If you can be of help please let me know, otherwise I won't bother with it.

Or if you wouldn't mind uploading that would be fine as well, thanks. Neptune's Trident (talk) 20:18, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

@Neptune's Trident: Barring any other information, it's safe to assume that the 1981 publication is still in copyright (things get weird with copyright sometimes, but 1981 is pretty recent so it seems very likely).
However, it would be reasonable to upload a copy of the cover image under fair use, which essentially says "yes, it's copyrighted, but it's fair for us to use it to illustrate the subject". If you have a look at the article for Dragon itself, you'll see how this is handled - you'll need to use a small file, and add appropriate notes to the image description. You QID

Hi. I'm building w:template:WiR_table_row to help automate the Wikipedians_in_Residence table. Could I confirm that this is your QID: Andrew Gray (Q67384081)? See wikidata:Q25212744#P106 as an example. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 10:40, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

@Evolution and evolvability: I think it's me, but I didn't know it existed until today! So I'm not sure that's strictly confirmation :-) Andrew Gray (talk) 18:38, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Heh, cheers. You can see my sandbox for a look at the work in progress that I'll eventually move over to the outreachwiki page. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 07:27, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
