Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2012–13 NextGen Series squads, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Flanagan and John Swift (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

There have been discussions at WT:FOOTY regarding the 'correct' format of the stats tables; I have therefore reverted your changes at the Viktor Fischer article. Regards, GiantSnowman 20:39, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but what's the problem with Transfermarkt statistics? I use this site to correct statistics. Andrey Tsyganov (talk) 20:57, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have not removed the stats themselves - just the table layout was against consensus. However, it is worth noting that Transfermarkt is highly unreliable and a better source would be appreciated. GiantSnowman 14:33, 17 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Diego Costa

edit

Although he has said he would like to, Diego Costa has never played for the Spanish national team. He has, however, played for the Brazilian national team, so until he plays for Spain, the Brazilian flag should be retained. – PeeJay 22:25, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

As User:PeeJay2K3 wrote (before I finished so it was edit conflict). He has not yet played any matches for Spain so he still should have Brazilian flag. You could read Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 60#Nationality flag. QED237 (talk) 22:28, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also FIFA lists him as brazilian at player profile. QED237 (talk) 22:33, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, guys, you're right. Then another question - if he will not have played for Spain until finish of CL2013/14, but will have played for Spain during 2014/15 season, should he have a Brazilian flag at 2013/14 article? Andrey Tsyganov (talk) 06:25, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
That is a very good question that i have have been thinking about myself and I dont know. I think his flag should still be brazilian in that competition but I am not sure. QED237 (talk) 10:30, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Flags should always be historically accurate, i.e. the flag should be the one that was appropriate at the time. That means Diego Costa should have a Brazilian flag for all articles relating to the period before he played for Spain and a Spanish flag for all articles after that (unless he plays for another nation later on somehow, which I doubt). – PeeJay 12:13, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ó Sioradáin ‎

edit

Hi, I was wondering why you blanked the redirect Ó Sioradáin? Intelligentsium 01:33, 10 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

After doing some research, I think it's a variant of Sheridan (surname), and a few people with the name seem to use both spellings. That seems to be a more logical search term than simply the "O'" association with O'Reilly so I've retargeted the redirect, though without prejudice to creating its own page if enough attestations can be found. If you come across a questionable redirect though, it's usually better to tag it with a Redirects for deletion template rather than blanking it so it doesn't just become a random blank page. Per WP:HUSH, "A common problem is harassment in userspace. Examples include placing numerous false or questionable "warnings" on a user's talk page, restoring such comments after a user has removed them, placing "suspected sockpuppet" and similar tags on the user page of active contributors, and otherwise trying to display material the user may find annoying or embarrassing in their user space." — next time you warn an editor about something, cite an official Wikipedia policy. Disambiguation needed on 2021–22 Champions Hockey League

Hello. You added a disambiguation template directly to the "sortname" template, which made it no longer look like a page link. edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
