Speedy deletion of Eric Koston

edit

A tag has been placed on Eric Koston requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Harland1 (t/c) 17:10, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Eric Koston. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 17:28, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removal of speedy deletion tags

edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Eric Koston. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 17:42, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there: I have to echo the above note, you shouldn't remove speedy tags from pages you created yourself. I was about to remove the tag because I think notability has been asserted, but if you created the page yourself, you need to use the (hangon) tag as it says within the template on the page.

I'm going to try to create some links to exterior pages that will make it more obvious that this page is notable; if you want to join in, you'd be welcome. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:47, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added some exterior links and edited out some stuff that would fall under the heading of "unencyclopedic"; I hope the results are to your taste, as they're more likely to last. There seems to be some discrepancy between Koston's "career highlights" and the listing I copied from the X Games site; if you could reconcile those two, perhaps providing references, that would be great. If you need any help, you can leave a note on my talk page. Accounting4Taste:talk 18:13, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Georgette2 (talk) 17:52, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Karl Watson

edit

A tag has been placed on Karl Watson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Paste (talk) 18:05, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Wilshire, Los Angeles, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Wilshire, Los Angeles, California. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Another warning re: images

edit

Please stop uploading images you find on other web sites. Unless you are the image's original creator, or you have written permission from the creator, that person retains the rights to the image, and (in most cases) that means we can't use them here. This has been explained to you a number of times, from the look of things, and further uploads which violate our policies will result in a longer block. Proposed deletion of El Toro Handrail

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article El Toro Handrail, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

unsourced and trivial--a set ofs tairs at a school

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
