Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of urban agglomerations in Asia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ahmadabad (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

List of Indian states and union territories by GDP

edit

May I know what exactly was the reason you reverted my recent edits on the page List of Indian states and union territories by GDP ? I had corrected and updated the latest data as published by Government of India's Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) on their official website on 31 July 2020. I also updated the link to the official MOSPI source that reflects this latest data. Why you reverted these edits is beyond reason. I have been contributing to Wikipedia for more than 5 years now and I'm reasonably experienced in editing India related list articles including the one I'm concerned with here. You added old 2018-19 figures of Himachal Pradesh in place of correct and latest 2019-20 figures in the aforementioned list article and mentioned the year as 2019-20. You also incorrectly changed the year of 2018-19 figures of Jammu and Kashmir to 2019-20. GSDP figures of 2019-20 for Jammu and Kashmir have not even been published by MOSPI yet. The same have been released for Himachal Pradesh and they were being appropriately mentioned in the article until you disruptively added one year older figures.

I noticed from the edit history of the page that you had made similar edits before also. Earlier, the MOSPI source in the article was not updated. You might have seen the older reference so I can understand your confusion. But now that I have updated the MOSPI source reflecting the latest data and made appropriate changes according to it in the concerned list article, your mindlessly reverting my edits is totally unwarranted. All the changes I've made in the above article are strictly as per the latest official data published by MOSPI for which the official government source has also been defined in the article. Please refrain from undoing productive contributions to Wikipedia like you just did. Kindly check and verify the figures you're incorrectly manipulating in the article from the updated MOSPI source first. I'm giving link to the updated source here: [1]

If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Kindly read my previous message properly. In your latest edits on the page (that I reverted) you incorrectly added the 2018-19 figures as 2019-20 figures for many states while citing the same MOSPI source that I cited for my own edits, albeit more specifically. Kindly go through the statewise GDP figures mentioned in the MOSPI source thoroughly first. You will get to know what exactly is wrong with your edits. 2019-20 figures are not available for many states and UTs yet. For Andaman and Nicobar Islands, even 2018-19 GDP figures haven't been released by MOSPI yet. From where did you come up with 2019-20 figures? The current list which I've updated reflects the latest official data available for each and every state/ UT. Vibhss (talk) 11:39, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the gdp of mumbai

edit

Hello there @Applaused the source you provided regarding the gdp of mumbai does not even mention the gdp it mentions nsdp and nsdp per capita, its highly unlikely that mumbai would have a gdp of 113 billion considering it contributes 6.2 % of the indian gdp India's gdp is around 3.5 trillion so a simple mathematical calculation would be 3.5 tn * 6.2;/100 which comes to more than 220 billion. Joy goel (talk) 20:03, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mumbai case is the same with Delhi case. Delhi GDP from national Government is about 100+ billion link = https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/PublicationsView.aspx?id=20679. Because they using city proper GDP Nominal. Not 270+ billion according to visual capitalist, because they using GDP Nominal for Metropolitan Area. Here from visual capitalist https://www.visualcapitalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Global-Wealth-Distribution.html they highlight it in "METROPOLITAN AREAS". Can u give link where Mumbai "CITY PROPER" contributes 6.2 % of the indian gdp, i'll satisfied if u share that data from government NOT from media. thx Applaused (talk) 20:11, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'll wait, if ur source seems not accurate. Then sorry, i'll undo your edit Applaused (talk) 20:13, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
anyway, the only source i find with Mumbai 6.2% india's GDP is https://www.indiachem.in/why-mumbai.php. That is not from official government data Applaused (talk) 20:15, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Applaused have a look at this its from a highly reliable leading newspaper in India https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/adi-bytes/mumbai-a-tale-of-repeated-ignorance/?source=app&frmapp=yes i can provide you with many other link that say that mumbai contributes 6.16% of the indian gdp Joy goel (talk) 20:30, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
The source from https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/adi-bytes/mumbai-a-tale-of-repeated-ignorance/?source=app&frmapp=yes having same story with my source https://www.indiachem.in/why-mumbai.php "10% of factory employment, 25% of industrial output, 33% of income tax collections, 60% of customs duty collections". Media report usually not fully accurate and tried immitate each other. It's different when we using source from official government. Also the source from timesofindia could'nt define Mumbai metropolitan or city proper, where government official can. so i will trust official government data rather than eading newspaper media source. If u confuse, Mumbai metropolitan include mumbai thane navi etc, same also with delhi metropolitan which include delhi noida gurugram etc. Applaused (talk) 06:33, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Applaused I have gone through your source thoroughly and nowhere can I find the gdp of mumbai to be 113 billion your source mainly shows the NSDP and NSDP per capita district vise, the article we are concerned with is Greater Mumbai not only Mumbai city Proper, Mumbai city proper information would be more appropriate for Mumbai City district in this article we are dealing with the entire city of mumbai not only mumbai city district or the city proper, and according to your source its not clear that mumbai's nominal gdp is just $113 billion i can provide you multiple sources that say that mumbai's contributes 6.2 % of the indian gdp this is mentioned multiple times through the article as well with multiple sources.
Therefore to avoid conflict i'm removing the nominal gdp and per capita information as its not verifiable through your source and again this article is about the Whole of mumbai not only mumbai city proper please dont revert this edit. Joy goel (talk) 08:04, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit reversion

edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 12:39, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please add license tags if you want to use images on Wikipedia.

It has come to attention that large amount of images you uploaded lack clear copyright status and do not have proper license tags. This is a crucial issue, as Wikipedia places a strong emphasis on maintaining content that complies with copyright laws and respects the rights of content creators. To ensure the quality and legality of images on Wikipedia, it is essential that all uploaded images have a clear and appropriate copyright status.

Here's why it's important to provide clear copyright information and proper license tags for images:

  1. Legal Compliance: Wikipedia strives to comply with copyright laws worldwide. Without proper copyright information and licensing, we risk violating copyright and intellectual property rights.
  2. Transparency: Properly licensed images provide transparency about their usage rights. This helps other Wikipedia editors and users understand how they can use, share, and attribute the images in accordance with the license terms.
  3. Avoiding Deletion: Images without clear copyright status may be flagged for deletion.

File permission problem with File:Depo tegalluar.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Depo tegalluar.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kcic2.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Kcic2.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:KCIC 400.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:KCIC 400.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606635454911844&set=pb.100066961852680.-2207520000&type=3.

The author got the picture from the official website. On some Wikipedia pages, the author sees many similar things, but does not get corpyright. Can you explain why only on this page? If you can't, the author will take a picture with a license from YouTube as Benyamin Ceci wrote on this page Applaused (talk) 12:10, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will write using as simple English as possible. Copyright is important. Images have copyrights. There are different copyright licenses. We must have proof of license. Without proof, we delete. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:19, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Applaused! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:08, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

You are claiming this is your own work. It clearly is not your own work. You cannot copy images from the internet and claim these as your own work, nor can you just apply Creative Commons licenses to images which are not released under under such a license. If you do not understand somethin about copyright for images, you can ask questions at Media Copyright Questions. What you cannot do is to continue uploading images you have copied from the Internet that do not have a free license. You have also claimed that File:Halim.png is also your won work. Is it really your own work, or have you copied it from the internet like the other images? -- Whpq (talk) 12:22, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you continue to upload copyright violating images here on en.wikipedia, or upload them on Commons and use them here, you will be blocked from further editing until you gain an understanding and appreciation of the importance of copyright. You have had many images deleted for violating copyright, yet still insist what you are doing is acceptable. IT IS NOT. Either you stop this behavior, or you will be blocked. I hope I have been clear. If I have not been clear, then ask clarifying questions. The appropriate response to this is not to continue to upload and/or use copyright violating images while insisting what you are doing is ok. This ends. Now. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:43, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Applaused. It has come to my attention that you have uploaded several files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Wikipedia:Copyrights for the copyright policy on English Wikipedia. This is your last warning. Continuing to upload copyright violations will result in your account being blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

Additionally, please stop uploading copyright violating files to Wiki Commons. Benjamin Ceci (talk) 13:45, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Taman Anggrek.jpeg

Thanks for uploading File:Taman Anggrek.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Table of largest urban areas in ASEAN

edit

I noticed that in your edit, Metro Manila is replaced with Greater Manila Area. For WP:Consistency purposes, which of the definitions should be used? Metro Manila or Greater Manila? As far as WP is concerned, Metro Manila is "one of the officially recognized metropolitan areas by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)" (see List of metropolitan areas in the Philippines), while Greater Manila is more of a larger planning area.

For Bangkok Metropolitan Region, how was the figure 15,931,300 derived? According to Thailand's 2020 census,

  • Bangkok: 5,588,222
  • Nonthaburi: 1,276,745
  • Nakhon Phanom: 717,201
  • Pathum Thani: 1,176,412
  • Samut Prakan: 1,351,479
  • Samut Sakhon: 586,199

Total is only 10,696,258.

Also is there a need to add a column for area, when urban areas and cities are usually ranked by population as per standard practice?

Hi Applaused! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of High-speed rail in Indonesia several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:High-speed rail in Indonesia, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Jjpachano (talk) 10:49, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your attention. As already explained, I have sources from various print and video media (but video ones are not listed) on this page. But the Anon's account insists that his source is correct when it comes to Indonesian sources, he misinterprets it. I was fair at first, but lately he's been removing my edits from various sources. In the end I did what he did. Applaused (talk) 11:52, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Rankings of Southeast Asia Startups

Hello Applaused, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Rankings of Southeast Asia Startups, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rankings of Southeast Asia Startups.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Conyo14}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the intersection of race/ethnicity and human abilities and behaviour, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Proposed deletion of Top reviewed places in ASEAN

edit

The article Top reviewed places in ASEAN has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:LISTN, no evidence that being a "top reviewed place" on Google Maps in the ASEAN region is a notable grouping of characteristics.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
