Hi Armbrust. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and am unclear as to how to get an answer to the question I recently posted twice to your talk page. I don't know why it has just disappeared from your talk page. If you can't assist me with my request, could you please direct me to someone or a link that could assist me in adding the external link to the page. Thank youGaw54 (talk) 19:38, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Parameter changed
You may have noticed that a number of your userpages are presently in Category:Fix. This is because that category is used temporarily to track deprecated usage of a certain parameter.
On User:Armbrust/Status please replace all 4 instances of | icon_nr = {{{icon_nr|{{{number|0}}}}}}
by | sortkey = {{{sortkey|{{{icon_nr|{{{number|0}}}}}}}}}
and your pages will disappear from that tracking category and template usage will be optimized. Debresser (talk) 18:32, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi Armbrust, I'm enjoying your current draft for the Featured Content section. I just noticed that you do not use the {{signpost filler image}} or {{Signpost brief filler image}} templates, as we do elsewhere in the publication. Is there a reason for this? Seems like an oversight -- happy to make the changes myself, but wanted to check with you first. Pinging Jayen466 as well. -Pete (talk) 23:02, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- I could use it... but only if the width of the image is a parameter too. (The featured content report generali uses 350px for the side images, but this template is set to 300px.) Armbrust The Homunculus 23:17, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

size=350px

Community bans
Questions:
- Why are community bans not logged at Editing Restrictions?
- If they are not logged there, where are they logged?
- What does this mean: "The discussion is then closed, and the sanction should be logged at the appropriate venue if necessary, usually Wikipedia:Editing restrictions or Wikipedia:Long-term abuse." (see WP:CBAN) --Bbb23 (talk) 23:27, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- I don't know why, but WP:RESTRICT clearly says in the lead that "editors who are subject to site bans are listed at Category:Banned Wikipedia users instead". (The key part of that is "if necessary".) Armbrust The Homunculus 23:57, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

- @Fayenatic london: Done, except Category:Mes Kerman F.C. and it's subcategories (these were not tagged). Armbrust The Homunculus 00:04, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks – good catch. I checked most but must have overlooked those. I've now tagged and relisted them. – Fayenatic London 09:00, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
EDIT: User:NOD32user/Userboxes/git has been changed by Armbrust
Good afternoon,
You (or a bot) have recently edited a userbox. Whilst I can see viewing history that this is an edit as per WP:CFDS the edit was partial, leaving the category link in the userbox to a moved page. I have corrected this edit. User:NOD32user/Userboxes/git
It is strongly suggested that these category edits be maintained for consistency across all categories, such as User:php which is now inconsistent. Example: Category user page (php) could be moved to new 'Wikipedians who use php' style of user category page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:User_php
Please raise for discussion, Unless Wikipedia is intending to move all User Category user pages to be consistent with the new model, please revert the category page and all associated changes. Feel free then to bring all userboxes into a consistent form. My appreciation.
Kind regard,
KING (talk) 03:21, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Please note: The edited userbox is the published version here, Wikipedia:Userboxes/Programming#Other
- The category was listed on WP:CFDS on 05:42, 16 November 2016 with the following rationale: "C2C in line with rest of Category:Wikipedians by software, also a reverse C2D in that it clashes with an ISO 639 code, albeit for the obscure Gitxsan language". After nobody opposed it for more than 48 hours the category was processed in this edit, listed at WP:CFDW and then renamed. Also Category:User php isn't part of the Category:Wikipedians by software tree, but that of Category:Wikipedians by programming language. (The subcategories of these two use different formatting. "Wikipedians who use XXXX" for software and "User XXXX" for programming language.) Armbrust The Homunculus

POTD notification (Thor)
Hi Armbrust,
Just to let you know, the Featured Picture File:Mårten Eskil Winge - Tor's Fight with the Giants - Google Art Project.jpg is scheduled to be Picture of the Day on December 22, 2016. If you get a chance, you can check and improve the caption at Template:POTD/2016-12-22. Thank you for all of your contributions! — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:14, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Mosconi Cup updates
I see that you have deleted my results updates on the Mosconi 2016. I realize they should not be on the main page, but currently there is no separate page on the Mosconi 2016, so I have no way to update it there and must do it on the main page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.129.198.106 (talk) 18:22, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
- Just because there is no seperate article for the 2016 event, doesn't mean its results should be added to the Mosconi Cup article. That's an overview article about all tournament's, and it only needs the final result. Armbrust The Homunculus 18:41, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

FPC
Somewhat frustrating that File:Henday Yellowhead 2.jpg is not promoted (with zero opposes) simply because not enough people are active at FPC. Is there a waiting period before re-nomination? -- Acefitt 00:00, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- There is no waiting period. Armbrust The Homunculus 20:40, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
Henday FP
Just asking: What constitutes a quorum? This nom. was favored 4 1/2 to 0. Sca (talk) 22:29, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- A nomination needs 5 supports to reach the quorum. Armbrust The Homunculus 22:37, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- OK. Hmmmm. Seems somewhat counter-intuitive in this instance. Cheers! Sca (talk) 23:20, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Withdrawing speedy... could you help on moving to full?
I'm withdrawing the speedy CFR you objected to, but need help moving it to full. I gave the rationale for changing to a more accurate article and category title below your comment on the CFD page. — Dale Arnett (talk) 02:52, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

Language tagging on Signpost
Hey, I saw you reverted my language tagging on your Signpost Featured content piece. I'll leave it as-is, because it feels very rude to roll back the article creator, but I was wondering what your rationale was for the reversion. :o) — OwenBlacker (Talk) 09:42, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- Because, IMO, they are unnecessary. Armbrust The Homunculus 21:58, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
