Would it have worked if I had changed the name to the one you used above when putting it through AFC, or is it like Redirects, where people posting meetups should go through a separate channel to submit rather than articles for creation? You need to be careful about what you put on mainspace as it is reserved for encyclopaedic articles. Anything else needs to go into one of the other slots. You don't need to have this kind of submission approved at AFC. If it had been presented it in the normal way for meetups, you or Ejgertz could have created it without asking for a review. On the basis of the detailed articles you have been writing recently, it looks to me as if you could move them straight into mainspace yourself without going through AFC. If you intend to write more articles about women, you should perhaps become a member of Women in Red where we could help you along. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 17:42, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases. Singers and musicians who are only notable for participating in a reality television series may be redirected to an article about the series, until they have demonstrated that they are independently notable.

Does Omotola meet any of those criteria or guidelines? I don't see that she does right now. If she does, add that information (with a proper reference, of course)

In regards to the David Gokhshtein

Hello! I was showing some Wikipedia edits off on my twitter and they caught the attention of David Gokhshtein himself who needed help in the editing of his Wikipedia article.

I obliged always ready to help someone in need and all for the free and decentralized information on the web this sit provides. I worked on reorganizing links as well as making it look more formal. I should also tell you that he did pay me for this however this was of his own volition and I did not ask for it he just wanted to thank me for my help. I am unsure if this makes him my employer and me a paid editor? By technicality but either way I'm disclosing this information.

According to another wikipedian I've heard his article was declined as it did not meet standards of notability? Now I got the informal complaint and I have worked my best to fix that. I also believe I have.

However I see no reason why he would not be notable? He has several official sources backing up his name. And not only is he running for office I'm the 2020 congressional elections but his name is even mentioned in the wikipedia article as one of the runners.

does Wikipedia really want new contributors?

I have edited some pages, and last year came up with a topic that does not exist. (cybercovernance or cyber-governance). The whole Wikipedia experience is restricted to insiders. I am very frustrated. I run an IT business, I can get elected to corporate boards, I am convinced that I could overcome the technobabble and exclusivity of Wikipedia. However I do not have the will or the time.

This is an environment for the initiated and those who have time to kill.

As an outsider, I find the learning curve too steep and the barriers to entry too high, so I will probably give up.

Please read WP:CIR. The barriers to entry are a willingness to learn and a history of useful edits. Rather than climb that learning curve, you've chosen to foolishly complain to one of the insiders you accuse of holding you back. I surmise you're just a shameless self-promoter disappointed that your dreck doesn't fly here; maybe I'm wrong. Like any institution, it's designed for the insiders. I'm sorry you feel that way. The reason the article was recently deleted is that it had not been edited or fixed in six months and just sat there, languishing in the draft space. In my mind, there were a few things holding back the article. First was that the sources provided weren't in inline citations next to the information they reference. Just because the same article exists on one Wikipedia does not mean that it automatically makes it on another. In the five sentence article that currently exists, there is no explanation as to why she is important or how she fits WP:NBIO or WP:GNG. Is she an author? Just someone who died in the Shoah? You left a link to the Leo Baeck institute, but not only didn't you format the reference correctly (if you used that as a reference), we also don't know what information you grabbed from that reference. Draft: Sir Thomas Saunders

To briefly summarize the Aylesbury elections of 1640, I'll quote from an article I wrote this year on Sir Thomas Saunders.

'We find a reference to a Certificate of Return from April 28, 1640 to Sir Thomas Saunders to be ‘one of the burgesses for the borough of Aylesbury5. It is worth noting the exact terms of the entry, as the same terms are used to describe the election to Parliament of others in Buckinghamshire, including Bennett Hoskyns, whose certificate is dated the very day previous to Sir Thomas’. We have further record of Hoskyns sitting for Wendover in Bucks to confirm it. There are records of the return to Parliament of several Buckinhamshire men in April of 1640. Sir John Pakington, Bt. And Thomas Fountain appear to be the first members, while Ralph Verney was the second member. We find reference to a double return in the Aylesbury election with ‘Two of the Burgessess returned not to fit till further order; one, returned in both Indentures, to fit, 1 May’6. The Short Parliament only sat for less than a month (from April 13 to May 5). It appears as if the double return references the fact that Sir John Pakington was also returned for Worcester County, for which he decided to serve. Pakington and Verney had initially been returned for Aylesbury, but after Pakington decided to sit for Wocester, another election took place7. Perhaps Sir Thomas Saunders, instead of Ralph Verney had been returned to Parliament alongside Thomas Fountain. I think its highly likely that the records of these two or so weeks are incomplete and that it is likely that Sir Thomas Saunders represented Aylesbury in Parliament, albeit for a very short period of time. If this is true, Sir Thomas was amongst several friends and associates from Buckinghamshire returned to Parliament, including John Hampden and Arthur Goodwin. Local elections were usually overseen by the High Sheriff of the County. It is interesting to note that the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1640 was Sir Thomas Piggott, a neighbor of the Saunders and as mentioned before, connected to the Saunders family through the Blounts.

However, you did not notify the page creator Keyhan narimannia of the tagging. I have done this on your behalf. It is considers very mush normal practice to notify the page creator of any speedy deletion tagging. Twinkle can be set to do this automatically, I believe. In any case, all the speedy deletion templates, when placed, include code which can be copied and place on the creator's user talk page manually to give such a notification. Or you can do it completely manually, but I would advise using the template or Twinkle, myself.

If taggers do not notify page creators, editors, particularly relatively new editors, do not understand why and how a draft or article vanished, and complain at the teahouse or help desk, or simply become discourages and leave. Ints M. Siliņš

There is a lot there. But the source from the Library of Congress/ADST is more than 400 pages. Hence the stub. I have a BA in international relations but here neither the time nor the experience with Eastern Europe to sift through that level of detail and take what is most important/relevant. My goal is someone who knows better than I do can improve the article, either through that reference or others they may find. Hence the stub tag. Definitely understand Postcard Cathy. Been there, done that with the BA in International Relations. A quick Google Search pulled nothing else up? Not even doing Google Scholar?
