The Bohdi Sanders Proposed deletion
Dear Blanchardb,
Thank you for your response. I do believe that I have made the changes which you mentioned and have included credible references with them. Please let me know if there is more that needs to be changed or added.
Thank you for you time.

- First, when you said that Sanders was nominated for the martial arts hall of fame, I thought it meant he was shortlisted. Now your article tells us that he was merely suggested by one person, and the reference provided, in addition to being the nominator's business site, doesn't even mention Mr. Sanders anywhere. Also, the Amazon.com reference only attests to the fact the book exists, and the fact some people have read it. The reviews are user-generated content, and as such they cannot be regarded as reliable for encyclopedic purposes. Not even close to being enough to establish notability. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 05:07, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- I have added two comments to Talk:Bohdi_Sanders indicating zero hits for the author in WorldCat and zero hits in Lexis-Nexis Academic (all categories over 10 years). I will be posting same info on SouthernSage's talk page. -Quartermaster (talk) 16:29, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Sushma Berlia
Dear Blanchardb, You redirected the page sushma Berlia to APeejay Education Society and I changed that because even though Sushma Berlia is President of the society that only one of the things that she is famous for. SHe is more known for being past president for the PHD chamber of commerce which is one of the APex chambers of commerce of India and for her government policy contributions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hariyali (talk • contribs) 17:47, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- And so I've tagged the article for a notability concern. Please note that notability is not inherited, and you must show that Berlia is notable independently of the organization she heads. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 17:50, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey, it looks like we simultaniously saved changes. I was about to db this one myself, but after reading their "references" I think they barely meet notability requirements and I cleaned it up quite a bit. If you think it works now, you may want to roll back your db. Honestly, I'm on the fence with this one, but take a look. LeilaniLad (talk) 03:01, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- I noticed your involvement just as I was checking for feedback. I'll let the tag stay for the time being, but if an admin removes it I won't complain. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 03:03, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Azimuth Systems
Hello Blanchardb. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Azimuth Systems, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. Thank you. The WordsmithCommunicate 03:26, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
tagging of Hope hall foundation school
You tagged Hope hall foundation school for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A7. But A7 specifically does not apply to articles about schools. However, as it happens, the article appears to be a copyvio from the school's web site, so i have retagged it under WP:CSD#G12. But you might want to remember the school exception to A7 for the future. DES (talk) 23:17, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

In order to avoid further charges of vandalism, you might consider adding E.F.Green and J.B.Tonnies 'Chemical Reactions in Shock Waves', Edward Arnold Ltd., London to texts on uses of shock tubes.

Hi, I obviously dont know how to email or talk to that Chase me ladies guy in the cavalry...lol...thats funny title! but i wanted to speak to him about the deletion of my social theory, and ask for advice on this work, as it is being used by 3 more authors since my publication and it is of great importance to note because scholars across canada are starting to use it. Please advise how i do this, im not a technology wiz and find it a bit confusing on these pages. and dont know how to speak to him ...my email is on my site, i also dont mind private email but i dont want to put it up here for fear of spam. email is easier for me, thanks, Mosquitopoint —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mosquitopoint (talk • contribs) 17:50, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- The preferred method of communication in Wikipedia is talk pages like this one. Most people here would frown at having to reveal their email addresses, and the vast majority will not honor requests to communicate via email.
- Now to get your article kept by Wikipedia, you have to show that your social theory is not yours, but rather that it is a theory already getting enough scholarly attention to pass the guidelines for fringe theories. The way to do this is to show peer-reviewed published material that cites your theory in a non-trivial manner. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 11:56, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Also, you stated here that you do not want your copyright on this theory violated. I'm sorry, but given that you've already posted the whole theory on Wikipedia, you no longer have a leg to stand on with regard to your copyright ownership. The notification You irrevocably agree to release your contributions under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL, is on every edit page. Not that it matters, given that your page is already deleted, but anyone who has seen your article before it got deleted may use your contribution at will. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 12:47, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
osCMax
Hi there,
I think you removed an article I posted regarding osCMax due to lack of software notarity?
I would say that osCMax has at least an equivalent notarity as 95% of the open source e-commerce packages already listed in Wikipedia (eg. ZenCart, Magento, osCommerce, etc.) I was hoping to list this software as your records are woefully incomplete and out of date.
I have tried to follow the exact layout as per PrestaShop and osCommerce in order to maintain a balanced record.
Can you let me know your objections - I saw 'Not Encyclopedic' and the lack of notarity.
Kind regards
Pgmarshall321 (talk) 13:06, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- For the unencyclopedic content, all I will say is that the information I removed belongs on the software's home page, not on Wikipedia. For the lack of notability, please familiarize yourself with the guidelines laid out here. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 13:08, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
osCMax response
Thanks for the reason which I accept.
Could you therefore remove the similar styled content from the following pages - mainly feature lists:
Avactis, Batavi, Magento, osCommerce, PrestaShop, Satchmo, VirtueMart and ZenCart.
Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgmarshall321 (talk • contribs) 13:17, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Bells (musical instrument)
Hi, This is a work in progress. I am trying to create a valid entry for this instrument. There is little information on the web yet other than the manufactures website, several youtube videos of the instrument being played and numerous discussions on several forums. The nearest related instruments are the Halo and Hang. There is no wiki article on the Halo and I have specifically been asked by the BElls manufacturer to not reference the Hang.
Do you have any other suggestions to help me bring this article to fit the wiki requirements? Thanks. Mynameislee2 (talk) 11:03, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- The cited concern is notability, which means the problem is not the quality of the article, but rather its topic. If you say, there is little information on the web yet other than the manufactures website, several youtube videos of the instrument being played and numerous discussions on several forums, then that alone is reason enough why Wikipedia should not have an article on this instrument. See WP:AKON. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 13:30, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

- Blanch, technically taken his death was added by an IP user and subsequently reverted. The IP user later added it again, stating the (main page) of calgarysun.com, and not a specific article. When searching, i cannot find any article regarding this subject, and seeing this is just a year old, i question if it was ever registered. In my eyes this is quite the WP:BLP issue though. We have no source to confirm this information at all. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:10, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

BLP issue - user claiming to be article subject.
Hi moon,
I noticed you were editing, so i hope you don't mind if i ask your assistance with a BLP article and someone claiming to be the subject of the article? It seems we have an IP user claiming to be Jeffrey Caissie, and he requests that his page should be removed due to inaccuracies. Im not sure if it is true or not, but he complains about the death date, and about the name of his daughter (Incidentally the daughter would be his cat, and since he is talking he obviously never died). An IP added this information along with the mainpage of a newspaper, though i cannot seem to find the particular article, even though it should just be a year old. Seeing it is not being handled in the most "optimal" way so far, might i ask if you have some time for this? If you do, this is the talkpage with the discussion. Kind regards, Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:18, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Another one? :O Okay. I'll come see what I can do. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- How very bizarre is this? I guess when he found the vandalized article, he thought to just undermine it completely? In any event, it seems that the article is being cleaned up, and I've left him some potentially useful links. Good job figuring out where the "death" information entered; does seem to have been vandalism! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:30, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you. It seems that the situation improved quite a bit during the time i was typing, but i is a good thing you left the user a short note. There is nothing like figuring out you are apparently being a corpse, and subsequently running in the problem that you have no clue as to how this should be undone. I have no clue if this was an attempt to delete the article, or if this was just vandalism utilizing the lack of a reliable source. Even so, the information was completely unsourced, so whatever the reason - the article is cleaned up :). Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Apparent vandalism
Thank you for pointing the issue with the article. The problem I saw was that the subject was requesting the deletion of the entire article on invalid grounds. Huggle gave me no way to see that the article was claiming that this person was dead, given where he wrote his comments. I have removed all user warnings from his talk page, and the dubious information as well.
As an aside, the article has a notability tag, but I think this person passes our notability guidelines, albeit barely. As for the offender, it is way too late to issue user warnings, especially given that the edits were anonymous. But I think we should keep the article under watch, just in case. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:32, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- It seems to have been added a long time ago, so i think the article has an equal risk of being vandalized as any other BLP page. Requesting deletion of an entire page seems to be a common response people give when they see inaccurate information, and seeing the sourcing i figured i might as well try and look it up. On the first glance it looked like vandalism though, and the only reason why i presumed this might not be a vandal was his persistence on your talk page. Thanks for removing the content though - that saves me a few minutes of doing so. :) Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 19:50, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

English as first foreign language
Hello, I added one third party source in the External link with an article about the initiative ... There is also an article on attac.org but the site seems to be down for the moment. I replaced the goals with an achvements section. Now anyone can add to the article ... maybe I shouldn't be the only contributor ... However, I hope it is sufficiently adequate for now not to be deleted. Thx --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 06:58, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know about that source. It looks to me like a blog, that is, something without a formal review. If that's the case, then it fails our criteria for reliability of sources for encyclopedic purposes. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 14:09, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello again, I am the creator of the page "English as first foreign language" User:mahdi.mrabet. Following my discussion with User:Nyttend I added a section about the relevence or importance of the subject and I changed a few more things. Then, As User:Nyttend told me I replaced the article when ready.
"The article is now at User:Mahdi.mrabet/English as first foreign language initiative. When you believe that you've demonstrated its importance AND its notability, feel free to move it back to its old title. If you're not sure how to move a page, see Help:Moving a page. Nyttend (talk) 14:49, 27 March 2010 (UTC)"
Followin my discussion with you User Talk:Blanchardb, I added an independent third source about the article which is a news website created and maintained by professional journalists, check it here : Europa 451 About us. I think calling it a "blog" is not accurate. I assume then that I have answered your requirement of an independent third party talking about the initiative. Besides, the initiative is remarkable in what it is trying to achieve and is already known by tens of development organizations. For the promotion issue, I've rewritten the article many times introducing many new angles on the the initiaitve including a "Critique" section and changing, as you required, the "Goals" section by an "Achievement" section. Although, I did not see what was wrong with the article informing about the goals of the initiative ? After all it is an article about the initiaitve, so if you don't know what are the initiative's goals, I don't know how you can have any idea about it.
I consider the notability and importance issues as addressed. You didn't add any specific concerns nor elements about why these issues are not answered. There is nothing promotional about the article, I checked every sentence and every statement is presented as a consideration of the initiative.
Do you still think it should be removed ? I didn't see your comment here until now ... --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 16:39, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
I am sorry, I have been very harsh with you sometimes ... I didn't know much about the nomination rules at wikipedia and I assumed I was facing a politically motivated censorship ... That's why I momentarilly wrote some "angry" statements that I immediately erased every time ... My apologies ... --Mahdi.mrabet (talk) 17:43, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Lost money scam
Hi, while I do see that I might have selected the wrong speedy deletion criteria, this page is utterly ridiculous. Looking at the title, "Lost money scam", should raise red flags. Is this supposed to be a page about scams involving money?, because in that case there are the appropriate pages Confidence trick and Fraud. Almost every other page this user has created has been deleted, as witnessed on User_talk:Apl2007. Perhaps I should go forth with an AfD? Imperatore (talk) 04:32, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

About the Tenchu article
I'm specifically speaking of the Characters of Tenchu article. I'm requesting for an approval of the declined speedy deletion. I've also seen you've made merger proposal tag. But what I'm planning is to disperse the contents of that article to each respective "videogame" articles (as it was already once merged on the Tenchu article). I was also the one who asked its move into its current location. I'm hoping you reconsider the deletion. As I'm also planning to condense the contents; removing too much unnecessary un-cited content within it.--JCD (Talk) 14:18, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- What I see as a major issue in the Characters list is that it is largely unreferenced, and only by a primary source. If no third-party reliable sources can be found about characters other than the two mentioned in the main article, then I do not believe a list of characters would be notable enough to stand as a stand-alone list. The editor who initially asked that the characters list be deleted cited his inability to find the kind of sources that would ensure the article's survival. Hence, a merger and cleanup (deletion of detailled descriptions of minor characters) is in order per WP:SIZE. Remember that Wikipedia is not a fan site. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 15:55, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to have confused you with that note (I was the one who did that deletion request, I'm Logicartery). But let me try to change my words, I'll try looking for reliable sources and instead of editing the said article, I'll post the details and descriptions of the characters on each of their respective game articles (the list includes characters from different games in the series), hence the character list would be redundant which is why I'm requesting for the deletion. I also believe the list contains too much details which make it worse and I sure 'do not' promote fanaticism on that, more or less. I hope this clear things up. Thank you.--JCD (Talk) 12:02, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- The reason I declined the speedy deletion request is that it was made under a criterion that no longer applies, since you are not the only significant contributor to the article. I converted your request into a proposed deletion, which is not subjected to that requirement. The proposed deletion was challenged by DGG (talk · contribs) on the grounds that some material (but not all) can be merged into the main article. If the article is to be deleted altogether, then the only process left is a deletion discussion. Hope this helps. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 23:10, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Additionally, given your stated intentions, if you manage to get the article deleted, I would recommend that you keep a copy of it somewhere so that your intended article improvements may be done by merely copying and pasting existing material. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 01:12, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- I see, thank you for clearing it up for me. I wasn't reading the history properly then. Thanks I'll see what I can do.--JCD (Talk) 06:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- I think I have settled this issue with user DGG ( talk ) who thought a merger might work. He stated it might be better to talk about certain characters in a centralized place specially if they recur or appear continuously on a sequel (or of that sort). This have lead me to change my plans and accept the merger proposal.--JCD (Talk) 11:31, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- I see, thank you for clearing it up for me. I wasn't reading the history properly then. Thanks I'll see what I can do.--JCD (Talk) 06:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello Blanchardb, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Carrolls Winward to a proposed deletion tag. Hello Blanchardb. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Tenderloins, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Winning a $100,000 prize on an NBC show is enough for A7. Take to AfD if required. Thank you. GedUK 20:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
-- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 15:33, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

- (1) The talk page guideline says "Use English: No matter to whom you address a comment, it is preferred that you use English on English Wikipedia talk pages. This is so that comments may be comprehensible to the community at large". I don't see any exemption for one's own talk page. (2) Whatever the guideline says, in English Wikipedia everything should be comprehensible by all editors. It is a mistake to think of user talk page exchanges as private conversations which others are excluded from. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:13, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- James, that's just a guideline, this conversation isn't hurting anyone. Micozinho (the person who started this converstation) addressed Blanchard in french first because its probably the language they are most comfortable with, so by responding with the same Blanchard is simply being more helpful to the user, the conversation above is nothing secretive, its your standard "Why is my page nominated for deletion", "explanation" "response". And Micozinho his/herself thanks Blanchard for responding in French as their English isn't great--Jac16888Talk 16:22, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Storm Century Article
I noticed that you reverted the article to a previous revision. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storm_Century I'd be interested to know your rationale for that change. I understand that one or more of the external links added may have contravened policy, however the text changes added substantial background, detail and history to what is an otherwise short and inaccurate article. In my view the changes add to a reader's understanding of the aircraft type, its development and history and are not commercial in nature. Pelorus32 (talk) 22:17, 12 April 2010 (UTC) Mike

- On en: it is not usual to link dates and years anymore (Wikipedia:Linking#Chronological_items).
- Unlike fr:, en: prefers the past to historical present (it's mentioned in various specific guidelines, such as Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies)#Tense, though not explicitly in the master guide).

Hello Blanchardb, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Years of the 12th - 14th century in Italy has been removed. It was removed by Theologiae with the following edit summary '(These sorts of "list" pages are found everywhere in wikipedia - please just see list of years in France, list of years in Ireland, list of years in Germany or similar year pages to refer.)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Theologiae before pursuing deletion further yourself. Speedy Deletion of Newgate Clocks
Hi, I am contesting the speedy deletion of this page. This is my first Wikipedia page, so please bare with me. I am currently gathering the resources required to state the Newgate Clocks is a notable company, particularly in the field of Clocks and as a local business. Im just going through all the information I have here and correlating this with Wikipedia's guidelines to see what is viable and what isnt.
If you could just give me 24 hours to sort all of this before the article is deleted I would be very grateful. Hopefully with this extra information added you will see why I believe Newgate Clocks is a notable company. Many thanks!

Deletion of Sekute
I'm not sure why its up for deletion when I took off the ™ symbol. I've explained the reasoning behind why I put the ™ there but as requested I removed it. You keep saying its a neologisms which is where I'm trying to hopefully get it to. For now its a Protologism. I have friends from all over the globe that use the word and I've received emails from people who came about it from the sekute tank tops and t-shirts I designed. I know this may not help but I also have it on my clothing line website. Anyway, I'm trying to spread the word and the meaning as much as possible. Lawyers as well as mine have advise me to use the ™ if Intentions to use it in commerce. I'm a fashion designer and created the word to complement my brand. I'm using it on upcoming product. So in hopes when others hear and see it, my brand will register as well.
You mention instead of getting upset or something to that nature of receiving a deletion notice, try improving it and fixing what is needed for it to be accepted. Well that is what I'm trying to do. So, if you can help with that I would appreciate it. (KKutie (talk) 17:18, 19 April 2010 (UTC))
- The reason why it is up for deletion is explained in the deletion discussion. The problem is not so much as to whether the article can be improved, but rather whether we even want an article on this subject. Please note that Wikipedia is not Urban Dictionary and is therefore no place to promote words that you would like to see introduced in the English language. Per our guidelines on neologisms, a word must be either verifiably established in the language outside Wikipedia, or else not mentioned in Wikipedia. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 17:23, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
New Text (Deletion Of Sekute) I kinda understand what you mean. I've had and used this word for some time and figured it could be used by others as well. Hint the reason why I was creating it under the adjective set up. The word is catching on in a big way and hopefully wiki will reconsider deleting sekute but I guess what ever you guys decide I'll respect. (KKutie (talk) 17:42, 19 April 2010 (UTC))
New Text
I see that Wikipedia has put me up for speedy deletion. But this time I'm confused on the reason they gave. They said something about a clear copyright infringement. How can that be when I created the word? (KKutie (talk) 23:28, 19 April 2010 (UTC))
- The thing is, we have no way of verifying that you are indeed the owner of the copyright, so by default we must assume that you are not. Additionally, please take a look at the other arguments for deletion that were brought up in the deletion discussion. I would direct you to where you can have copyright issues cleared (WP:OTRS), but I can see that it would be pointless, given that your contribution would inevitably end up being deleted over other concerns.
- If you are indeed the owner of the brand, we can't take your word for it that the name "is catching on in a big way." You'd have to show, through non-trivial mentions in reliable third-party references (you know, the kind where you can't get anything changed without involving your attorney in the process) that it is indeed catching on. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 23:39, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of MNG Europe.
Seems you already have enough on your plate than to have my errors add to your growing list of things-to-do, my apologies for that. I am the co-owner of MNG Europe (Val Jelinic) and have utilised similar text on both the LinkedIn webpage for this attempt at our first Wikipedia page.
Our intention in adding an entry to Wikipedia is not for the purpose of commercial gain or advertising, it is to be an informative piece communicating who we are, where we came from and what we do. I've tried to be as commercially "sterile" as possible, and tried to remain factually focused but obviously I am still "infringing" upon some rules & regulations (and still learning about Wikipedia)
Please let me know if I need to provide more evidence or what actions I need to take to keep the page. Thanks in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluemavryk (talk • contribs) 14:26, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry your RFA is not entirely going according to plan so far. I am a Neutral at the moment, but you might like to know that the two main criticisms of over-zealous deletion proposals and your recent block are easy to remedy with a little time. Given the many positives expressed, I will not be looking for much evidence of change in these areas next time you seek Adminship. Stephen B Streater (talk) 14:55, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, my recent block has generated less of an opposition than I expected, and I'm surprised that no one asked about the earlier block (clearly a mistake on the blocking admin's part, which he tried to undo himself). But this has been a learning experience, and I have already resumed editing the way I did before the RFA began. The only difference being that I have begun compiling statistics on my AfD participation, and I will start doing the same for SD's.
- Additionally, for an other RFA, I will wait to be nominated (or at least co-nominated) by someone who was in the Oppose camp this time around. Then I will know that the next RFA will be a near-unanimous support. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 22:08, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

- The problem stated on the deletion tag is that the article is promotional, and blatantly so. It is obvious that the creator of the article (that is, you) wants to build a clientele for this newspaper, and therefore should refrain from editing editing the Wikipedia article on it.
- Also, given that this newspaper is brand new, it might be too early for Wikipedia to cover it. The newspaper must be the topic of coverage in secondary sources if the article is to be kept. Unfortunately, that would mean coverage by its competitors. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:02, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

- Please read Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines. If it is something you "want all Sri Lankan developers to know about," then the best time to start a Wikipedia article is when you can demonstrate that Sri Lankan developers already know about that something. Wikipedia is not in the business of promoting standards. It is in the business of reporting standards that have already been successfully promoted (or at least failed after a well-publicized agony) already. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 06:02, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed, yet your statement it is not "publicised" is not objective at all. The Sri Lankan Government has infact sent out all those circulars (links provided in http://www.locallanguages.lk/node/95) and has already implemented them. You are under the impression that "Developers" do not know about the standard based on the google search results. Infact the standard is known but what most developers lack is a in dpeth knowledge of it. That is where I see this article helping. Please reconsider as I've cooperated with you and provided all the information you have asked for. Thank you. --Dasiths (talk) 06:10, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: The West End School
Hello Blanchardb. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of The West End School, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 19:12, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Canvas by Instructure
Hi Blanchardb,
I just received a speedily delete notice for "canvas by instructure". It appears it is b/c it seems to be blatant advertising to you. I'm sort of confused b/c I modeled it after articles such as "Blackboard, Inc" and "E-college". It is factual, and i really tried to write it in a manner that would be objective, and reflective of what the industry feedback has been (but severely muted to avoid sounding salesy). Please refer to the articles (pages) I mentioned in this message (blackboard / e-college) and provide me some feedback on what I can do differently.
Thank you very much,

- What was missing from your article is an assertion of importance, that is, why Wikipedia should cover your company or its products (see our inclusion guidelines for companies). The article only listed features of your product with no assertion that enough potential clients were already aware of its existence.
- Given our conflict of interest guidelines and your choice of username, I strongly suggest that you wait for someone elst to start the article, that is, someone not commissioned by you either directly or indirectly. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 03:08, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Jeffrey Street Kirribilli Australia
Hi I was the original author of the article Jeffrey Street which is in Kirribilli (where I live). I am also very new to WP as a contributor (and this was my first effort to author a page) so I hope that you will be nice to me as a newby. You put a delete on the page a few days ago, soon after the very first draft. Since your delete the page has been almost totally rewritten, and a lot of people have helped to edit etc. Can I please ask you to review and hopefully reconsider. There are a few days left before the AfD. If you have any comments I have time to improve the article. Thanks Andrew AWHS (talk) 12:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- The main concern that was raised in the deletion discussion was notability. That means it might not be possible to improve the article in a satisfactory manner (see WP:AKON) given that the problem is not the article itself but with its topic. The comment which I believe should be addressed first is this one: most of the references are about Kirribilli, New South Wales not Jeffrey St.
- I'm from Montreal (well, its outer suburbs, actually). I took this picture of a major tunnel from a street called Rue de Boucherville. Does that mean Rue de Boucherville (or Boucherville Street) warrants an article? I don't think so. Or perhaps this picture, taken by me from Lasalle Boulevard, warrants an article on the latter? I don't think so either.
- What you need to do is show that Jeffrey Street's notability is independent of that of Kirribilli, and independent of that of the bridge. You need to show that Jeffrey Street is notable on its own without being thought of as merely part of Kirribilli. If you can't do that, then all the contents of the article belong in the article on Kirribilli. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 04:20, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks again for your comments and consideration, I have added new content specific to the street, and perhaps can now delete some references which are more general about the suburb. I have added some talk on the delete page about the problem with identifying the area versus the neighbouring suburbs. Two new areas of notability have been added, specifically the vehicle wharf (the main car wharf in Sydney prior to the construction of the harbour bridge) (at this time it was never called Kirribilli) and also the photos and references to old cottages.AWHS (talk) 13:35, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Speedily Delete Notice - The Fifth Element (Musician)
I just received a speedily delete notice for "The Fifth Element (Musician)". It appears it is because it seems to be blatant advertising to you.
the article is MY biography as an artist and i dont want it to be deleted
how can i change this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hectorgalindo (talk • contribs) 00:58, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Basically, the fact you are writing an article about yourself puts you in a conflict of interest. So I would think, given how blatantly promotional the article is and how it gives no indication that you meet our notability guidelines, you should wait for someone else top start an article about you, someone not commissioned by you, your agent, etc. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 01:02, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
my agent/manager DID write that biography
i had nothing to do with the 'production' of it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hectorgalindo (talk • contribs) 01:23, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- As I said, the fact he's your agent basically disqualifies him. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 01:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Vantage Point Comment
You left a message saying that a comment made by a person using the IP 122.167.72.89 was unconstructive and hence was reverted. Appreciate your edits and but want to point out that this IP is randomly assigned by the ISP to dial in users and hence is not linked to any particular person or user.
I logged into internet and saw this message on the wikipedia page. For the sake of clarification, I didnot make any edits to the Vantage Point movie. I rarely make any edits anyways, having lost the appetite to do so.
Just wanted to make things clear to you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.167.72.89 (talk) 05:35, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- I issued this warning in February. There's a disclaimer (automatically added) at the bottom of the page, stating that, because of the very problem you mentioned here, if this warning doesn't apply to you, you may just ignore it. Thank you. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 12:45, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Ismaili Centre, London article
Hi Blanchardb -- Your input into the article Ismaili Centre, London is appreciated. The article was created only two hours ago, and a visible effort has been made to cite credible sources, so it was surprising to see the Template:Notability and Template:Primary Sources tags. They are a bit premature, wouldn't you say? Regards -- Aylahs (talk) 00:17, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- No. These are not deletion tags. These templates may go the minute the issues are addressed. Also, the section about Ismaili Centres around the world shouldn't be included in the article about the one in London. You should be writing a separate article instead. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 00:21, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for your suggestions. -- Aylahs (talk) 04:08, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
IAR
I'm not sure about this edit. A7 is sometimes extended to books, especially those "written by me"; WP:IAR often is cited for removing this nonsense quickly. — Timneu22 · talk 00:28, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just applying A7 as written. But I am hoping that an admin will delete it IAR nevertheless. :-) -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 00:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Be careful! At least one of the pages you patrolled and passed , Million hope, did not meet expectations and was deleted. The ability to patrol pages is a privilege and can be removed if abused. Thank you.
- Can you cite the relevant policy or guideline? Also. please tell me how pages that are deleted under criterion G7 should be marked for deletion by anyone other than the creator. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 21:23, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- It should have been deleted under G12 but apparently the author put up a G7 at the last minute. Marcus Qwertius (talk) 21:32, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- You see, that's the problem. The only newpage patroller I know that checks for G12 compliance is a bot, CorenSearchBot (talk · contribs). You are seriously not expecting me to check about 100 new articles per hour for copyright compliance, now, are you? -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 21:37, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- It was obvious it was a copy-vio and the only reason I didn't realize it was because it was written like

Just a heads-up... I found some non-primary sources that support the claims that she is a classical pianist, on the music faculty of the Baku Academy of Music, and has performed in recitals, so I'm removing the Prod. However, the notability is pretty marginal, at least from the available references. AfD? Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:05, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
