The article Franke's widefield pinhole camera has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- stub since mid 2008; this camera does not appear to be notable, and there is no assertion of notabilty; the only source doesn't appear to mention the camera in question
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 13:53, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hello! As I remember, at the time I added the article I was reading something about photography (outside Wikipedia) and I encountered the term (“Franke's widefield pinhole camera”). It was used as one might use “Pythagoras' theorem”, not defined but assuming knowledge of it. I looked at Wikipedia and didn't find any mention, and it took a bit of searching to find out what it means. (As the stub shows, like the theorem, it's simple once you know what it means.) Anyhow, I added it to help people in my position. At the time I thought perhaps someone might add information about it, but in retrospect this doesn't seem that likely. I wouldn't want the information to be completely lost, however. How about moving the definition to the “Pinhole camera” article, and turning the stub into a redirect towards the relevant section?
- From your user page I deduce you're a general editor, not here because of you watch the pinhole camera article or something like that. I'm only an occasional editor, and I'm not sure about etiquette: should I just do the edits on the PC article, or discuss it first on its talk page? (Assuming you agree with my solution, and that you don't want to do it yourself.) The only thing restraining me is that I'm too occasional an editor to watch the PC article (in case somebody inquires about my edit), which I did for the little stub. bogdanb (talk) 19:19, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Noob questions
editSalut!
