Speedy deletion nomination of Maliyadeva Scout Group

edit

A tag has been placed on Maliyadeva Scout Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. This article has been deleted after a discussion at articles for deletion. You can not just recreate it. If you have legitimate reasons why it should not have been deleted, you should take it to deletion review. As the note above say, if you continue as you are doing you will be blocked from editing. I also suggest that you discuss your concerns with the folks at the Scouting WikiProject.--Bduke (Discussion) 22:22, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the comments below from Talk:Maliyadeva Scout Group as they will be removed as the article will be deleted. Please comment further here.--Bduke (Discussion) 22:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Maliyadeva Scouts annually organize Sampath Ranawaka Memorial Exploratory Competition with the participation of many schools in the Island and it is the only National Level Exploratory Competition in Sri Lanka recognized by Sri Lanka Scout Association. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Buildpd (talkcontribs)
This is not a sufficient reason to retain the article Maliyadeva Scout Group, but it is a reason for adding a brief mention of this competition and its organising Group at Sri Lanka Scout Association. I am going to move this comment to User talk:Buildpd as this talk page will be deleted when the article is deleted as a recreation of an article approved for deletion at articles for deletion. --Bduke (Discussion) 22:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have added a mention to Sri Lanka Scout Association, but it needs a further reference to establish the link with this Scout Group. --Bduke (Discussion) 23:04, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to National Institute of Business Management (Sri Lanka), you will be blocked from editing. --Chanaka L (talk) 13:31, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeated abuse of editing privileges. Please stop. You are welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below.

You have been blocked for one week for disruptive editing. I do not see any discussion regarding your preferred version of the text, and only you editing against consensus. If you wish to incorporate your changes then you should discuss it first and amend the consensus - a slow edit war is only going to get you blocked for further or indefinite periods.
