Orphaned fair use image (Image:Radiodaze.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Radiodaze.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hello, thanks for your peer review of 2005 Texas Longhorn football team. Your suggestions have led to many improvements to the article. I believe I have now addressed or spoken to all of your points. I have put more detail at Wikipedia:WikiProject College football/Peer review/2005 Texas Longhorn football team.
I have also addressed most of the points made by the other peer reviewers. The two I am still working on is to expand some of the game sumary sections (I'm working on that now) and to proof-read all the references for consistent format. I am saving this task for the very end since more references are being added as I go.
If you have any other suggestions for the article, please let me know. Best, Johntex\talk 09:02, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Wrong summary
Your Edit Summary for 00:55, February 26, 2007 (RV to revision 110971076 dated 19:47, 25 February 2007 by Corpx (removing unnecessary external link)) claims you reverted an edit to remove an external link. However, when I checked the diff, your changes involved categories -- not external links. I had just (4 minutes earlier) reverted a YouTube link. Could that be what you where thinking of? Will (Talk - contribs) 07:09, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Will, see your talk page for my response. Caknuck 07:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
No bot. I used popups by Lupin. I can override the summary with an option I chose.
As for the complex edit, you probably should have made the revert a separate edit. You might have gotten to it before I could. However, the important thing is that your second edit would have a summary like "Adjusted default sort of categories". Will (Talk - contribs) 07:28, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Will do. Thanks for the advice. Caknuck 07:31, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

- Just out of curiosity... how many of those warnings are from people with the actual power to block a user from editing or ban them from editing all together? Oh, that's right, none. I have supported my side in the argument and, if need be, could also go on a "recruiting effort" to get people commenting in my favor. There is no vandalism of the article itself (I am removing a ridiculous and unnecessary section) and I am clearly not vandalizing my own talk page by removing garbage written by other users.

- Feel free to issue warnings to your heart's content, just be aware that I won't adhere to one unless decreed by an administrator. The section is now protected so you can rest assured that there will be far more inputs on the article's discussion page supporting my point of view in order to remove the ridiculous section once and for all.

Re: List of people from Ridgefield, Connecticut
Hi Caknuck,
I notice you made a contribution to the List of people from Ridgefield, Connecticut page. I've gotten into a discussion with #69 over the substance of my disagreement with him. He's intransigent, and I'd like to get on record that we have a consensus to keep that section of the List of people from Ridgefield, Connecticut list. If, in fact, we have a consensus. I summarized my long argument at the bottom of the page and asked for comments. Would you please look over at least the summary (a few paragraphs) at the bottom of Talk:List of people from Ridgefield, Connecticut and give your opinion (whether in support of keeping or not). Much appreciated, Noroton 22:35, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Tag Removal
Hi there, I noticed you removed many of the WP:SPEEDY template tags that I posted to a number of pages. I would ask you to consider leaving them in place. While I understand the desire to have as many pages as possible, these pages do not seem to meet the criteria laid out in WP:STUB. A person's notability is not explained by simply listing a few numbers and the teams he/she played for. The user who created those pages, does so with amazing speed, often when pages are requested. While I appreciate this very much, providing filler information and removing the articles from that list, does a disservice to the goal of the list. People who are likely to create good articles for that content are no longer aware that content is needed on those articles. Thanks for your time, I will mark your page for watching so that we can continue the discussion here if you want to continue to talk. // Tecmobowl 01:06, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the tags for 'several reasons.
- Using CSD A1 is an incorrect format for requesting deletion. Per WP:CSD, "Limited content is not in itself a reason to delete if there is enough context for the article to qualify as a valid stub.".
- I contend your interpretation of WP:STUB in these cases. The historical record is rich with information on the subjects of these articles, including newspaper articles, baseball cards, team yearbooks, media guides, player biographies, etc... The whole purpose of creating a stub is to provide a foundation on which other editors may expand. I see no problem with the articles being stubs pending this expansion.
- Per WP:BIO, "Competitors who have played in a fully professional league..." are considered to be adequately notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Stating so in an article is sufficient assertion of notability for article creation.
- You're member of the Wikiproject task force on baseball players. Wouldn't it be prudent to bring a mass deletion of player articles to the task force to generate consensus?
- I think that you are not acting in the best interest of Wikipedia or the task force, and I will contest any article you submit for deletion with the reasoning you explained above. Continuing to tag these articles using bogus CSD criteria will get this matter swiftly submitted for mediation. Caknuck 01:22, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I saw your comments regarding good faith. It is clear to me that when you make a statement like that, based on my openness to discussion, you are not acting in good faith. I will continue this discussion with the creator of the articles, as he is clearly more understanding of what is going on. As a final note, I am well aware of the fact that a person who plays professional baseball is deemed noteworthy. Being noteworthy however, does not lower the bar for viable content. Think of it this way, what if the Babe Ruth article was only as long as the articles we are discussing here. //Tecmobowl 01:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm well aware of the necessity of assuming good faith, but I fiind it hard to do so when you nominate the articles for deletion a) without consulting the rest of the task force, b) using (in a very liberally interpreted manner) CSD instead of AfD, which it the accepted norm for mass deletions and c) target articles created by one specific user without discussion beforehand. Tell me how any of this implies good faith? Caknuck 01:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see the benefit of continuing this conversation with you beyond this post. Please review WP:3P and you will see that WP:BOLD is right up on the top. If i felt there was a need to discuss this at all, I would have initiated the conversation. I see this as pretty cut and dry. Lastly, the user removed these articles from Wikipedia:Requested_articles/sports (and understandably so). I simply went in and tagged the related articles. Be well and best of luck in the future. // Tecmobowl 01:52, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the issue is not cut and dry. While it is important to be bold, it shouldn't be done solely to make a point. I'm all for reasonable discussion of deletions (please see my history of participation at the XfDs for my record there). Assuming good faith here, I would strongly recommend that you are up to date on deletion procedure prior to nominating articles like these in the future, lest someone else think that you weren't acting with the best of intentions. If you have questions about deletion procedure, feel free to ask me. Cheers, Caknuck 02:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

- Tecmobowl, if one of your reasons to delete these is that you're afraid no one will come along and improve on them, this can be easily corrected. If the baseball project has a list of articles that need to be expanded, I can add links to these articles on that list. That way, all members can simply clink on a link and improve any article and all the articles would be in a central location. Patken4 01:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Baseball article creation
Thanks for the message! I will still create player articles. It's just that yesterday I went out to see my local 9 play, so I didn't have time to create articles. I'd like to start an article on all players with at least 1,000 hits (I think there are 12 or so left) and then start those that played in at least one all-star game (about 30 or so). Once again, thanks for the support! Patken4 21:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

I understand your concern. I do agree with you, also. However, there isn't anything that can be done. Editcountitis isn't an official policy. If Soxrock wants to do everything in as many edits as he wants, then he's free to do that. Nothing can be done to prevent him from doing it. The only thing that we can do is try to persuade him to stop. But aside from that, he can do that if he wants and can't be blocked or anything. Despite the problems that he's caused other editors, as he is helping Wikipedia and improving articles, he can do this unfortunately. I don't agree with him doing this, but he legally can. Do you understand what I'm saying? What he is doing isn't illegal, so he can't get into any trouble for doing it, no matter what. All his edits are greatly contributing. While people might not agree with how he's doing it, he still is doing it and can't get into any sort of trouble for it. The only thing that anybody can do is persuade him to stop and make it in only one edit. But he doesn't have to oblige by that or consider their request if he doesn't want to. --Ksy92003 (talk) 18:22, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

You know what? Go to WP:3O. I have given him suggestions, which he completely ignored. I asked him to stop a couple more times today and yesterday. He completely ignored me again. Please go to WP:3O as soon as possible so we can fix this. Some action needs to be taken because Soxrock completely refuses to listen to reason. He must be stopped somehow. You know that you have my support in this matter, and I know another user, Aviper2k7, has said the following to Soxrock:
“ | I'm removing this because you don't mark edits as minor and you edit the same thing 100 times in a row. | ” |
“ | [Y]our motives for clogging up the servers and editing every three seconds is to parade around your high edit count. | ” |
Something must be done about the situation. Aviper2k7 won't return from Valparaiso University until tomorrow, but I know based on those quotes he has the same opinion as this on the matter. Please, if you may, go to WP:3O. --Ksy92003(talk) 22:40, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Update I have referred the matter to Wikiquette Alerts. Caknuck 03:40, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
