Adoption Request
editHi, I see you have put up a request for adoption, I can adopt you, if you would like. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 21:55, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- That would be great! Thank you. Captjosh (talk) 21:59, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds good, I will change the userbox on your userpage to reflect that I have adopted you. Now, I have one question for you: What are you looking to get out of Wikipedia, do you have a goal? Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 22:02, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- To rule the world? Nah, just kidding. To add to the objectivity of Wikipedia through edits, article creation, and eliminating vandalism. Captjosh (talk) 22:07, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, well we will take things one step at a time. Have you created an article yet? If not, that's okay -- it is a simple process. Looking through your edits, I really don't see anything wrong, especially for a new user, you have grabbed on fairly quickly and seem to have an idea of what you are doing. I will be watching your edits, and pop in and give you advice. And....my talk page is open for ANYTHING you need help with, want to ask me, or if you just want to say hi. I will have further information for you as I watch you over the next week or so. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 22:12, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks a bunch for the assistance and feedback. Yes, I have created a few articles; all recent creations were airports that did not have their own pages yet, but were referred to by other pages (for example, red airports here).
- Very well, keep up the good work. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 22:53, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Template
editHey:
When creating new airport articles for those small GA airports, feel free to use my airport template. If it is missing anything, you can add them in. Cheers, Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 12:18, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks a bunch. I like your template better. However, I have a few suggestions. Under Facilities and Aircraft:
- First, I agree that the longest runway is typically the only noteworthy one to address. However, some of these smaller airports have "unique/interesting" layouts, such as a long paved runway with an intersecting turf strip, a parallel glider runway, dirt strip, helipad, runway that doubles as a road, etc. If the field just has 1 or more "boring" paved runways, I say list the longest only, but I suggest editor discretion if uncommon layouts exist.
- Second, I suggest adding additional placeholders for aircraft operations type: In addition to GA-local and GA-transient, data is kept on: military (often refueling of training aircraft), commercial, and air taxi (of the last two, I believe commercial is cargo and air taxi is charter, but I have to check).
- Finally, I suggest keeping some additional placeholders for aircraft type. The most common are: single-engine, multi-engine, jet-aircraft, ultra-light, glider, and helicopter.
- Captjosh (talk) 16:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ya, I agree, I just ripped that from a small airport I created which is why it was like that, you can update to say whatever you like, I give you permission to update it :P Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 19:57, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

The article Andrews County Airport has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NBUILD and WP:GNG due to lack of coverage in WP:SECONDARY sources aside from WP:ROTM mentions in aviation-related government and navigational databases. I have preemptively merged relevant content with Andrews, Texas.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Carguychris (talk) 15:54, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
