Mihi Edwards

Nice article (as usual). I thought I'd share something useful with you with regards to bios. Readers may come across her full name or, if they read historic documents, find her under her earlier name (be it a maiden name or when she was known as Anne). To make things as easy as possible for Wikipedia users, you usually do one or two things:

1. Set up redirects from all names that people may use for a search, and/or
2. Where a page exists already for a search term (i.e. most often that would be a disambiguation page), you add the person to that page.

For the former, the way to do it is to set up a redirect pointing to the target article and then you move that redirect as often as is needed to cover all the possible search terms. See here how it's done. For the latter, I've added her to Anne Edwards (disambiguation) and Ann Davis.

Kia ora koutou; well, it's time to wrap up this project • What a wonderful and short ten weeks it's been; I've really appreciated all the mahi people have put into improving articles about the West Coast • There's a summary of what we've managed to achieve in the final report • Briefly: 24 new articles, 5 of them in DYK, 974 edits to 193 articles, adding 73,800 words and 653 citations • We uploaded 1126 photos into numerous new Commons categories • Standouts for me were Schwede66's sorting out all the Paparoa mountains named after famous scientists, Marshelec's work on Karamea and Bullock Creek, and Turnagra creating the Copland Track article • There are small prizes going out to those three, but I also want to acknowledge all the effort of Paora, Chocmilk03, and Gertrude206—great stuff • I'm about to head off to Europe for a month, to attend the Wikimedia Summit and learn what European Wikipedians are up to, but despite time zones would like to have an online catchup with participants soon • Thank you again for all your hard work; ka kite ano and I hope we'll have another bash at the West Coast again soon. I'm sad to see about the picture as well; I guess I have now learnt about some Wikipedia policies and discussions around images of people that I didn't know about. And learning is good, even if I don't necessarily agree with the approach (or with the people who called the image unflattering!).

Margaret Frankel

That name, when it popped up, sounded rather familiar. And that's why; I added something to her husband's article about their house. Ah well, she's got a few notable family members. I wasn't aware that John Anderson Sr had more than two sons who were engineers. The two eldest, it would seem, ended up with the main company in Christchurch. Anyway, we have a near-complete photo library of Christchurch buildings listed with Heritage New Zealand. And surprisingly, both listed buildings that Frankel has lived in don't have contemporary photos, although they are both still standing. Very odd; I was running around for years and took photos of everything that the EQs hadn't finished off (and I snapped many damaged buildings before they got knocked over).
