List of Israeli ambassadors to France

edit

That was rather swift. What sort of lead info are you looking for? It's just a list, there's not much more to say. I think that tag is more for articles than lists, and for pages that need rewriting as opposed to needing more info. Christopher Connor (talk) 06:40, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Hey here. Actually, the tag applies to all content. Stand-alone lists should always include a lead section just as other articles do. The list should have an "engaging lead section that introduces the subject, and defines the scope and inclusion criteria of the list." You can find more information here. Hope you're having a great weekend. Cindamuse (talk) 06:51, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I've taken your advice to add more stuff. Christopher Connor (talk) 07:31, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Annie Royle Taylor

edit

Thanks for your rapid CE to Annie Royle Taylor. I see that you have also placed a 'nofootnotes' box requesting citations at the top. In reality, any citation will only refer to the single ODNB reference that I gave at the bottom. (There are some online websites etc that also reference her, but they aren't near the same quality as the ODNB piece.) It seems somewhat ridiculous to tag each statement with the same citation to the ODNB - so do you have any suggestions as to how the article could meet your request? Ephebi (talk) 15:22, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • No harm; no foul. Generally in situations like this, a notation added to the talk page will suffice in lieu of expanding with additional references. Sometimes after I do a quick copyedit, I'll add a tag for my own reference to refresh my memory when I come back to it later. I have access to a bit more information, so I'll spend some time today looking it over and expanding as I am able. Don't stress over it. Have a great day. Belen Echandia

edit

Dear Cindamuse,

I noticed the speedy deletion tag that you placed on my re-published page titled Belen Echandia. I've placed a Hold-On tag in return and have tried my best to explain my motivation for doing so on the corresponding talk page. I would appreciate it if you could pass along any advice or guidance on how I can improve the Belen Echandia page so that it is not deleted.

Thank you, Parafianowicz (talk) 03:30, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • The article fails to indicate notability according to Wikipedia's guidelines found WP:CORP. Notability needs to be established through significant coverage, presented in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. At this point, the article does not meet the criteria for inclusion. Best regards, Cindamuse (talk) 05:36, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

A message from WikiProject Wikify!

Thanks for participating in the October 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive! We made significant progress, wikifying hundreds of articles. However, the backlog still needs a large amount of effort--discussions about the next drive (in December) are underway. Until then, happy editing!

Speedy deletion of Twistlethrop/draft of swarby

edit

A tag has been placed on Twistlethrop/draft of swarby, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. "Phyllis and Nick legally wed after the six month waiting period on May 1, 2007" why is this under "Recent Events". Just wondering, I cant change it because of the sign at the top of the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Doogy444111 (talkcontribs) 06:25, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sharon Newman

edit

Hi Cindamuse. Because the template at the top of "Sharon Newman" says that if the article hasn't been edited in hours, remove it. I just want to ask you is it okay if I remove it, or are you still editing it? :D DrLiande333 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:11, 6 November 2010 (UTC).Reply

  • I'm still working on it. This month is the GOCE drive, so it may be a while. A lot of research and verification. I understand that you have access to information about various characters and shows. By any chance do you have the character breakdown that was written for the role of Sharon Collins prior to the audition process? Or do you know the start and end dates for Heidi Mark?

As a side note, I understand that the username DrLiande333 is your second profile, the first being Doogy444111‎. You may not be aware of the policies on Wikipedia, but the creation and use of more than one profile is against policy. The role of administrators includes blocking profiles where this policy has been violated. I have refrained from mentioning this or making a report, since I realize that you are a new editor and may simply not understand the policy. However, it is important that you review the username policy and go through the proper channels to change your username. The related policies can be found here and here. Nobody wants to see you blocked. Certainly not me. I think you're doing a great job adding content to articles. So, please go ahead and make your username change official. Thanks, Cindamuse (talk) 17:50, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Muna AbuSulayman page

edit

The reason i redirected the Muna Abu-Sulayman page is because her name is spelled without the hyphen. I have created the page Muna AbuSulayman and i have already updated the information but will upload it once i have all the information that i need, maybe in a day or two. Please restore the changes i made. Below are links which contain the proper spelling for her name, the first one is her facebook page and the other one is an article from November 1,2010

a file I want to upload

edit

I now have a file showing most of the ACA sirens built. With this, my 'List' article would be redundant, and could be deleted or merged at a later date. The problem is, I am now sure who to give credit and copyrights for as no one really has copyrights or claims for the file. Any thoughts? --JustInn014 (talk) 05:50, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Thomas Laurie

edit

Hello Cindamuse, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Thomas Laurie, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: More than likely not notable, but enough to dodge the A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Courcelles 11:25, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for the message, I sent the article to AfD. The references are unreliable and do not support notability. They are simply the subject's name on a list. Just my opinion, but when you provide an appropriate edit summary, a talk page notation is unnecessary. Save yourself an extra step. I have noticed you around the WP world and appreciate the work you are doing. ; )
On another note, this template needs to be rewritten. Much of the criteria is subjective from one editor to another. The comment "You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages," is condescending and presumptive that an editor is not familiar with the deletion criteria. Can you provide direction in the process for rewriting this template? Thanks again. Cindamuse (talk) 12:05, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks Courcelles. You gave me a chuckle. At least I'm not alone in my bewilderment. I'll have to dig a bit further and see what I can find. The script basically violates WP:AGF and implies that editors don't know what they are doing. Some do; some don't. That said, the assumption is inappropriate and needs to be addressed. Happy editing!
