State Of Mind (band)

edit

The article State Of Mind (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- JLaTondre 19:06, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Untravel guides

edit

All of these Untravel guides are going to be deleted from your userspace. You have an odd, amusing project going, but you have to take it elsewhere. There are numerous Wiki farms, like Wikia, that will offer you free hosting for a wiki entirely of your own creation. Wikipedia, however, has very clear policies that disallow such content, and if you continue adding it, you may be blocked for disruption. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:09, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

All images and articles pertinent to this project are now deleted. You are welcome to request copies of any deleted material, so long as you do not re-create it. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:42, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
This project, and all of its subpages, were nominated for deletion. The result of this discussion was a consensus to delete. The main cause for this was likely the un-encyclopedic nature of the project. Wikipedia is not a free webhost or publisher of original content, it is not Uncyclopedia. Your contributions are subject to review, they may be reverted or removed at any time if they violate content guidelines. If you wish to contest this deletion, you may do so at WP:DELREV, but I must warn you that the decision to delete will likely be upheld. As I said, you may request a copy of the deleted content and post it someplace else, but not in any project currently run by the Wikimedia Foundation. If you recreate the deleted content on Wikipedia, it will be deleted and you will be reprimanded. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 05:58, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please stop. If you continue to ignore our policies by introducing inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:11, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

There are many Wikifarms out there that can host your project. For instance, Wikia, the company that hosts Uncyclopedia. Here's a link to their application. Send me an e-mail at anetode AT (replace with @) gmail.com and I will reply with a text file that includes the source code for all of the deleted content. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:23, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maybe you should move your content to Uncyclopedia. It could probably fit right in there. It's probably going to be deleted here, because it's against policy. — The Storm Surfer 06:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Half_Cast_Prophet_3.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Half_Cast_Prophet_3.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 07:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of images for deletion

edit

Further to your comments on my talk page, I have not specifically targeted you, but yes I do review contributions of people once I nominate an image for deletion. You will find that all the images I nominated for deletion are orphans and most appear to be personal photos of you. Active users are welcome to have a limited collection of personal photos on their user page, but any images that are orphaned are subject to nomination for deletion. If you wish to comment on the nominations, please do; that is why notification to the uploader is part of the nomination process. If there are any further question, please feel free to contact me again on my talk page.--User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 02:06, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the One Buck Short photos, they too were orphaned. Be bold and readd them to the article and note that at the IfD discussion.--User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 10:54, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Believe Me Natalie

edit

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Believe Me Natalie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -FisherQueen (Talk) 21:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:NPE.jpg

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:NPE.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VegitaU 23:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

File:Mooky2.jpg

Hey, you listed it as being under a Creative Commons license, but I couldn't see him releasing it anywhere. If you could drag that up somewhere, it'd be appreciated, but otherwise, I'll nom it for deletion. Cheers! Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 03:20, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for responding. I do not doubt that Mookie would mind the picture being used. The question is rather if we *know* that. Our policies do not allow us to make assumptions as to what is inside the mind of someone else. If you could contact him on his myspace or bebo (somewhere public, so we can verify, rather than an email) and just get him to confirm that he's ok with it, that'd be great. Have a nice day! Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MCC1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:MCC1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Punk Rock Picnic.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Punk Rock Picnic.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:54, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation

edit

Your upload of File:Clouds over Clive1.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Imran of One Buck Short.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Imran of One Buck Short.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Proposed deletion of File:RunningWithScissors@Rockquest07.jpg

edit

The file File:RunningWithScissors@Rockquest07.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal photo. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 09:21, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
