Notice about a new WikiProject Proposal
This is a friendly notice about a proposal to have yearly based WikiProjects. You can find the proposal by clicking here. Elijahandskip (talk) 19:02, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- My Apologies Clovermoss. I "jumped the gun" in the fact that I forgot to actually make the proposal official. I have done that now, so feel free to leave your opinion on the actually proposal. (See: Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/2021). Elijahandskip (talk) 19:06, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Elijahandskip: May I ask why I was notified of this proposal? Did I forgot that I signed up for updates on new wikiprojects or is this notice sent to everyone? I recently returned to editing a few days ago after a year of inactivity, so I'm out of the loop on a lot of things. Clovermoss (talk) 23:16, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry for the notification. When I started the original discussion, it was on the WikiProject Years talk page. When I was doing basic notifications of the proposal idea, I went looking on the WikiProjects (Year being one of the ones involved) and started looking at participants that were 'active', aka had edited in the last week. When I was checking the participate list, you were (and are) a member and since I started the discussion on the 16th, I saw your large amount of edits on the 16th, so I gave the notification. I am sorry for the ping. I won't ping you anymore. I hope you have an amazing day, and welcome back to Wikipedia. Elijahandskip (talk) 23:24, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
TheWikiWizard-May 2021
Hello, Clovermoss! Here is the May 2021 issue of TheWikiWizard.
Wikipedia News
- The Simple English Wikipedia was mentioned in a article online very recently, you can read the article here.
- Meta is looking for Board Election Volunteers you can read up more by following that link.
- The English Wikipedia, has just passed 6,300,000 articles!
Tip of the Month
This tip is one of the many ways to combat spam on Wikipedia:
- On Wikipedia, articles either meet the General Notability Guideline or not. When you come across a new article, it is extremely important to determine if it is a real article, or just a spam article. Start with a search on Google, for reliable sources, if you get none in return, then look at the article for non-NPOV content, also scan the references section in the article to see what sources it uses, and check the 'other languages' section and Wikidata to see if it is on other Wikipedias. If other Wikipedias have the same content and/or a CSD or AfD tag (WP:AFD) it is likely spam or not notable, so you can then nominate it for deletion to get input, remember that CSD criterion does not always apply to these articles depending on the content/contex. Also remember to check for copyright violations via earwig's

Hello. Thanks for subscribing to TheWikiWizard, as you may know, the next issue of TheWikiWizard, was supposed to be ready and delivered to your talkpage (or the page you subscribed to receive the newsletter) on the 20th. However, due to Tsugaru (User:つがる) being busy with exams, and having some problems logging into his Wikipedia account, the next Issue of TWW has been delayed. Girth Summit (blether) 22:22, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Girth Summit: Thanks for the goat. I had a stressful 2020, but I'm definitely glad to be back. How have you been lately? Clovermoss (talk) 22:32, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- Clovermoss, my 2020 sucked, big time. I lost a close family member, and my job, to the virus, and to top it all off our dog died. In summary: an absolutely shit year. Sorry to hear that it was stressful for you too - so many people suffered, and are still suffereing, we've just got to keep trying to move forward: I have a new job (longer commute, but it's a nice drive), and we filled the dog-shaped hole in our lives with a little puppy in December, who is now a cuddly, clumsy, joyful girl. So yeah - we are where we are. Right now, trying to make it through to the end of term - looking forward to a summer break! Girth Summit (blether) 22:45, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

TheWikiWizard-June 2021
Hello, Clovermoss! Here is the June 2021 issue of TheWikiWizard.
Wikipedia News
- The IRC channels used for Wikipedia have changed, you can read more on it here. While TWW was aware of this in the last issue, we decided to wait and publish this in this issue, when the issue is not as new any more, and more information has been developed.
- There was quick interruption in editing on Wikipedia, that was to test server switching should an emergency happen, more details can be found here.

Proposed Women in Green Editathon
Hello Clovermoss -- With the goal of helping to progress the WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) women’s rights-themed GA nomination goal for 2021, I’m proposing that WiG hold a special editathon event in the fall (maybe October/November?). I can assist with logistics, but I need to know how much interest/support there might be from WiG participants first. Please let me know what you think in the talk page conversation! All the best, Alanna the Brave (talk) 01:52, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Alanna the Brave. Thanks for letting me know. I mainly see WiG as an aspirational thing that I want to eventually be a more active part of. I have never really participated in an editathon before and I have limited experience with the GA process. I joined WiG because I wanted to work on getting Katherine Hughes (activist) to GA. I'll probrably get back to trying to work on that goal sometime soon. I looked at the talk page conversation, and I'm not sure that there's much I could to do help, at least at this time. Maybe I'll change my mind once I feel like I have a better grip on the GA process. I noticed that the goal seems to be to improve women's rights-related articles. I started Women's Franchise Act, but it could still be improved. I remember having a hard time with digital sources, but there's likely more info out there in physical sources like books. Clovermoss (talk) 16:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- If you're interested in simply participating in this editathon (as opposed to helping organize it), that's totally welcome -- I'm envisioning this event as being helpful for editors who want to learn more about the GA process and criteria. We may have a few more experienced GA editors act as general mentors (answering questions, giving quick article assessments, etc). What kind of resources/support would you find most useful in gaining a better grip on the GA process? Any suggestions you have would be great. Alanna the Brave (talk) 17:14, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Alanna the Brave Yes, I'd be more interested in participating rather than organized the editathon. I recently got hired for full time work though, so I might not be as available as I might want to be in the future. I'll be sure to let you know either way before then. The mentorship part sounds like one of the more helpful resources. Clovermoss (talk) 17:41, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sounds good -- we can touch base again later. And congrats on the job! Alanna the Brave (talk) 18:31, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for participating in my recent RFA
I appreciate your support and trust in my recent run for admin. I very much appreciate your compliment; I find being kind, responsive and collegial on Wikipedia works better than other strategies. I've had an interesting first few weeks and am learning a lot by being able to better watch (through tools) what admins do. Please call on me if you see making an error, or if you just need help. Your GA nomination of Katherine Hughes (activist)
The article Katherine Hughes (activist) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Katherine Hughes (activist) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Buidhe -- Buidhe (talk) 01:41, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
Hi Clovermoss, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Chetsford (talk) 04:39, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
