Welcome

edit

Hello CountryCoolGuy12345 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Liz Read! Talk! 03:34, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Cool beans have been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at User talk:Naddruf, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 21:25, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

Hi CountryCoolGuy12345, I saw that you created a category. The way you add articles to a category is by editing the articles, not the category themselves. On each article which you want to add to the category, at the bottom of the page, you should type [[Category:Defeated Incumbent Presidents of the United States]]. This will put the article in that category. I hope this helps. —Naddruf (talk ~ contribs) 19:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Defeated Incumbent Presidents of the United States

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Defeated Incumbent Presidents of the United States requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of people from Richmond Hill, Ontario. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Meters (talk) 21:34, 1 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Chester A. Arthur, you may be blocked from editing. PKT(alk) 22:25, 1 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:00, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Important notice

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
