Speedy deletion nomination of Disappearance of Gary Hayward
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Disappearance of Gary Hayward requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mandavi (talk) 22:01, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Sorry
Hello. I'm very sorry that I was not able to support you when Disappearance of Gary Hayward was up for deletion. You left a message on my Talk page at 00:18 and the article was deleted less than 2 hours later at 02:16. Please don't think that I ignored your plea. This morning I took a train trip to another suburb for lunch and at around 00:18 - 02:16 I was somewhere out in Henderson or on my way back towards home via the train and bus. I had cellphone access to the internet, but didn't think the deletion would be acted on so fast and intended to reply later. It's unfortunate that the time window from your request to deletion was so short and I was more or less out of wifi range between train stops at the time. Akld guy (talk) 04:38, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Davidgoodheart and Akld guy: This can likely be restored to draft space via WP:REFUND if you think it can be improved up to quality standards and a credible claim of importance is made. -- Dane talk 04:47, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
@Dane: I can't comment on whether it can be improved because I never saw it before it was deleted! Akld guy (talk) 04:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

We can't have a category like "First generation X", that doesn't work. It's doubtful even the second or third generation categories will be allowed to be kept. They've been deleted before.★Trekker (talk) 07:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

- @*Treker: I know this is a later response, but regarding this category that I made: I was thinking of this as being more along the lines of First generation wrestlers who have children who are wrestlers, not simply just "First generation wrestlers". Also regarding the other categories that I made that weren't good had to do with dead people as I was trying to come of with an alternative to living people. So even though some of the categories seemed or were bad, there a was specific reason to why I created them that way. Davidgoodheart (talk) 01:05, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

RE: Giving and getting info
Hi. It has been a few days since I replied to you on my talk page, and you never responded. Did you have a specific question about a specific article? If I can help you or give you more info, I will. My original reply to your comment was: "The very nature of Wikipedia is that other people can change, merge, or delete your articles and unfortunately sometimes that means your hard work goes down the drain. If you have a question about a specific article, please link to it, and I can probably give you more information". Nikki♥311 21:27, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Please do not categorize BLP subjects when references suggest otherwise
Please do not categorize BLP subjects within the WP categories of "People with Asperger syndrome" or "People on the autism spectrum" when source-link references state or suggest that the subjects are not diagnosed as such. Self-diagnoses and personal identification aren't enough to categorize them.73.131.228.245 (talk) 12:26, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- I've reverted you (IP 73.131.228.245) at Dan Aykroyd as it appears to be adequately referenced. I suggest you begin a discussion on the article talk page rather than unilateral "warnings" hidden in articles and warnings on user talk pages, as you don't have the authority to do so. If it's a WP:BLP concern then by all means make your case at the noticeboard, but this is not the way to go about it, particularly since the Aykroyd article is referenced. freshacconci (✉) 15:09, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

I disagree he should be in that category. Categories are supposed to be defining (per Wikipedia:CATDEFINING) and Roma isn't defined by his time as a jobber. An example of someone defined by their career as a jobber would be Dusty Wolfe, or Barry Horowitz. If the category includes everyone who ever did jobs in their career it would include almost every wrestler who ever lived and be useless. GigglesnortHotel (talk) 13:58, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Disappearance of Linne Dominelli
Hi,
In the 'Disappearance of Linne Dominelli' article you created, you have her DOB ambiguously listed as Jan. 22 and Sep. 4, 1950. Which is correct? Best regards, Davidgoodheart. --Kieronoldham (talk) 23:23, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

WP:A7 on redirects
Hi David. You've replaced redirects for Joanna Yeates, Melanie Hall, etc. Although the redirects were left by page moves, that doesn't warrant their removal, particularly when they are used by many incoming links (see Special:WhatLinksHere/Melanie_Hall, for instance). A7 appears inapplicable: they are valid redirects to an article of (presumed sufficient) notability that is principally about the subject of the redirect, and that is sufficient indication of notability for the redirect. The article Disappearance of David Guerrero has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Doesn't meet WP:NCRIME.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Power~enwiki (talk) 05:45, 10 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi, this is a creditable article which you can find a lot of stories about on the internet and YouTube, so it DOES make Wikipedia's criteria of credibility. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:03, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

Mysterious Disappearances
Why do you keep re-adding subjects that did not mysteriously disappear? Most of these people are known to have been killed, it is simply a matter of the body never being retrieved. Others are people who were known to be kidnapped, which is also not a mysterious disappearance. Edward321 (talk) 05:36, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

- Thank you, John from Idegon. Davidgoodheart, I see no evidence that you are being harassed, and unless you have very solid evidence, I recommend against pursuing any such claim. I agreed with you about Disappearance of Brandi Wells, but that is a borderline case, and those who support deleting the article are acting in good faith and are making relevant points. You are not yet well-versed in our notability standards or what constitutes a reliable source. I saw you arguing at another AfD that a YouTube video establishes notability, which is obviously false. Spend more time developing your skills and less time complaining about "harassment" by your fellow editors who are acting in good faith. Also, communicate through user talk pages, not userpages. - Cullen328, see this monster of a thread for some background here. This has been going on for a long time. Please do not Americanize Commonwealth spellings, especially when the article deals with a Commonwealth country. You did this here. It is not allowed. WP accepts all English spelling standards. Thank you. Kelisi (talk) 05:49, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Ok, I know for a fact that I have told you this before, don't make dead end categories like you did with Category:The Dangerous Alliance members. Also, don't make categories for stuff with less than 5 articles for it.★Trekker (talk) 04:30, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Note
This is blatant canvassing; informing an editor you know will vote a certain way with such a bias statement is as obvious as it gets. I know you are already well-informed about canvassing. And, on another issue, this is not appropriate neither. You cannot bypass other voters to assert your own opinion. I have had to correct you on that before. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 04:40, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- @TheGracefulSlick: Hi, I do not consider that to be blatant canvassing, since people have informed me when their articles were up for deletion, and never asked me to vote, when I did vote it was due to my own judgement, and not because they asked me to. Also objecting to my article being deleted is fine as everyone has a right to vote on the issue. Davidgoodheart (talk) 05:11, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- It is canvassing. Stop pretending it is not; I am reporting it, so lying does you no good. And, as for my second point, please actually read what I wrote:

. Voting is fine, but skipping over other voters before you is not. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 17:54, 21 February 2018 (UTC)- @TheGracefulSlick: Why does it matter where you place your "vote"?★Trekker (talk) 18:03, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Do not reorder comments on the deletion page to group them by keep, delete, or other. Such reordering can disrupt the flow of discussion, polarize an issue, and emphasize vote count or word count
. Not to mention that David is technically tampering with another editor's comment by reshuffling it. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 18:15, 21 February 2018 (UTC)- I don't really think that qualifies as "etiquette" by my standards, but the actual reason from the quote makes sense.★Trekker (talk) 18:30, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

- You have been saying that for months despite the advice of experienced editors. It would be much easier to simply brush up on WP:V, WP:NOT, and maybe even WP:EVENTCRIT--if you are feeling ambitious--instead of running into trouble while writing about such a sensitive subject outside the protections of Wikipedia. You may believe editors are nominating "your" articles for deletion because they are "pesky" and "ill-informed", but they are displaying their knowledge of notability guidelines and acting fairly for each unique situation.TheGracefulSlick (talk) 22:41, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- @TheGracefulSlick: I know I have been saying that for months, but the reason I haven't yet is because I do not yet know how to just yet, but tomorrow I am having someone who will show me how to make some private wikis, and yes I do have concerns about libel issues, so I won't publish any sensitive articles online, so hopefully it will be safe. The way I feel about others viewpoints about what is notable, and what should not be included is my own viewpoint, and there are a wide variety of viewpoints out there, and everyone has a right to their own, and to express their opinion, so I am sorry if what I stated may have seemed a bit demeaning, but I am feeling a lot of frustration as of late and some of it showed in my messages. Also I consider myself an experienced editor who does know a lot about certain topics, and I do consider myself also quite knowledgeable, so I think that my opinion should also count as well. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:40, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to tell you, but you do not get to have different opinions on what notability and extensive coverage or reliable sources are. Why are you so insistent on doing this even when people have told you that you might endanger yourself and others?★Trekker (talk) 06:49, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- @*Treker: I know that this is a late response, but just like you I didn't think that it mattered where you placed you vote at an AFD. But when I messaged a Wikipedia administrator he told me that it is custom to keep all comments at the bottom of the page. The reason that he gave is that it makes sure of the chronological flow of the discussion, which makes it easier to follow. He also said only to leave comments above you if you are pinging someone or responding to a comment. So Grace was right about this after all. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:21, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

The article Wilda Benoit has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Notability for one event. The event itself is not notable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Marvellous Spider-Man 15:20, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Mistake?
Care to reinsert my comment you removed? Thanks. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 20:20, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- @TheGracefulSlick: Hi Grace, yes it WAS a mistake, as I did not mean to do that, and I have now restored it. Also I like that fact that you said you feel for the family of the missing girl, compassion is a great emotion to have. Davidgoodheart (talk) 20:32, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Part of the reason I nominated it actually was because I feel for this family. Unless something like this is notable--and I believe I thoroughly demonstrated why it isn't--should there be an article? Most families wouldn't want their daughter to be included on Wikipedia, so we can focus on what (presumably) lead to her death. I know you had the best of intentions, but Wikipedia is not a memorial, and I do not believe this is the kind of memorial a family would want anyways. You are entitled to your keep! vote. I just wanted you to understand that I came at this with good intentions for this girl and Wikipedia. TheGracefulSlick (talk) 20:50, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

It's cool you want to expand her article. But you added information that you were told by Verne Siebert. That's all fine and well. But how do you plan on sourcing that? Besides, you didn't even list the promotion this took place in. You need to cut down on the amount of independent promotions in the lead section. You don't need to list every promotion she has ever worked for. Not necessary. Just list the main ones. You don't need to list the ones she worked for once. Not necessary. The purpose of the lead section is to summarize things. The career section is for listing career items like major matches, title wins, and what not. A lot of work needs to be done on the article.Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 11:54, 29 April 2018 (UTC)

But if you trying to change it to davidgoodheart, than it's also not possible as MediaWiki always capitalise the first letter of usernames, but you can use template {{lowercase}} to show it in lowercase on your userpage and talk pages.

- @Davidgoodheart: Hi, David. I have removed the method of suicide you included when you added Brian Christopher to the List of suicide article, because the source you cited makes no mention of it. As you know by now, having been editing Wikipedia for a few years, Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, so if you want to re-add that method, please do so only if you can accompany it with such a citation. The articles in question are Vicente Zambada Niebla, Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, and Luis Fernando Sánchez Arellano. Why are you adding "missing people" categories for these individuals? I understand they were being sought by law enforcement, but they weren't "missing" in the traditional sense of the word (the right word would be "fugitive", and there are specific categories for that). Consider the fact that authorities had evidence of their criminal activities, and that these individuals worked with other people in organized crime, so they weren't "missing". MX (✉ •✎) 05:02, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
- @MX: Hi, I thought that being wanted by the law as not knowing where they were and escaping from prison would classify as "missing", but if that is not the right phrase for that I can except that. Thanks for letting me know this and I won't do that again for fugitives. Davidgoodheart (talk) 07:35, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
Look
..at these articles.. I created Von Sydow murders. And contributed to Christine Schürrer and Anders Eklund.--BabbaQ (talk) 00:19, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- @BabbaQ: Very interesting and well written. Thursday I am getting help with my computer, I will talk to you then. Take care! Davidgoodheart (talk) 07:49, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- This might interest you. Since the editor was harsh on you some time back. BabbaQ (talk) 10:39, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- @BabbaQ: How do you feel about this? I don't agree with her viewpoints, but I do feel that it's bad that she wanted to leave, and I usually think it's wrong to gloat, and in this case it surely is. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:22, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- I hope you understand that TGS had used sockpuppets to influence different articles etc. The editor had received so many chances over the years and the community could not take any more of the users disruptive behaviour if not including the editors great article work. This was not a case of viewpoints any more. It was a case of a editor abusing other editors even threatening one off Wikipedia as included in the discussion that led to the editors block. I hope you did not leave the message at TGS talk page without fully understanding that situation. --BabbaQ (talk) 00:30, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- @BabbaQ: I now understand and removed the message that I left her, also please check out my recent message to you on your talk page. Davidgoodheart (talk) 00:37, 5 February 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 9
An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bobby Lashley, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Different Strokes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 09:12, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
No, that's different. Chris Benoit, it has been officially determined, that he killed his family and then himself. He can't be prosecuted because he's dead, obviously. Had he lived and been acquitted it would have been the same thing as the Simpson case. But since the perpetrator is dead, we can accept the official verdict and consider it solved (just like Murder of Jane Britton). Daniel Case (talk) 05:49, 12 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: Thanks Daniel for your quick response and this information! Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:40, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 20
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of fugitives from justice who disappeared, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chihuahua (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
- It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:15, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Break
Hi, I am going to be honest with you. You and I need a Wikibreak from each other. I took a look at the latest 1000 edits on my talk page and a low estimate is that you have written about 600 of those edits. I have also responded back and written on your talk page several times etc. This is a Wikibreak that is needed between us. Today it is the 20 March, you should not write to me or contact me in any way until at least after midnight on the 21 April. And the same goes for me of course. That is a month in which we should both focus on doing our own edits. I fear that we will be too co-dependent on each other otherwise. Do not take this as criticism or me not wanting to have contact with you. Take care and let’s keep in touch in a month or so. Bye. BabbaQ (talk) 11:53, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Please do not move anything to do with this crime including Ronald Jorgenson into the List of fugitives from justice who disappeared. Jorgenson was not a fugitive, but was on parole for his earlier crimes. Akld guy (talk) 04:51, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Akld guy: Okay, thanks for letting me know this, also please check out my recent additions to the List of fugitives from justice who disappeared. The article is very viewed and can use all the additions that it can get. Davidgoodheart (talk) 05:21, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

DYK for Disappearance of Brittanee Drexel
On 25 April 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Disappearance of Brittanee Drexel, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that while investigating the case of Brittanee Drexel, who disappeared 10 years ago today, the FBI brought federal charges against someone who had already served state probation for the same crime? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Disappearance of Brittanee Drexel. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Disappearance of Brittanee Drexel), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
DYK nomination of Pavlos Kouroupis
Hello, I completed a review at Template:Did you know nominations/Pavlos Kouroupis, and noted one question. Please respond there if you're able to help. I look forward to seeing this nomination on the main page. Thanks! Flibirigit (talk) 04:44, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Flibirigit: Hi, I did not add all that info to the Pavlos Kouroupis article so I don't know the answer to that. Please ask the editor who added that info for that answer. Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:52, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Deletions
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I hope you don't let your recent deletion nominations get to you and discourage you from editing. You're a very nice and diligent Wikipedian and it makes me sad to see that you're experiencing issues with finding notable subjects to write about.★Trekker (talk) 00:54, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- @*Treker: I know that this is a late response, but I would like to say thank you as you have given me inspiration to keep editing even though I have often really felt like giving up. Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:24, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi. I noted you are extensively populating this article as of late (which is naturally expanding in length). I have just added two Wiki. Commons images to separate sections. As extensive sections do not currently have any form of imagery, if a few more images were added, it may help the reader to navigate the article and maybe encourage more contributors? Best regards,--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:33, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Kieronoldham: Hi, I like the fact that you noticed my work. I figured why not add all the articles that exist to the list that can be added. I like the images that you have added and yes adding images may encourage more contributors as well. If you want to add images great. Images are one on the few things that I do not know yet how to do. You could help me out by adding sources to the articles that do not yet have them. That would make my editing job a lost easier as adding articles is really all that I can do right now. Davidgoodheart (talk) 03:17, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- You are welcome. You have contributed close to double the amount of edits I have on Wikipedia. Searching Wikimedia Commons for relevant images esp. in areas where imagery is scarce is beneficial for articles of this length. I could search for sources. In fact I may do. Regards,--Kieronoldham (talk) 03:42, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Quick FYI
Hi David. If you are going to restore archived material on someone else's talk page you should explain what you are doing and why in the edit summary. Thanks for your work on the project. -Ad Orientem (talk) 19:02, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

Perhaps the articles Murder of Anita Cobby and Dominique Dunne might interest you. I created the article about Hilda Nilsson, it might interest you as well. Take a look when you got time for it. --BabbaQ (talk) 21:06, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- I have nominated the article about Kenneth Gärdestad to possible GA status review. --BabbaQ (talk) 23:53, 4 August 2019 (UTC)
