Implementation of Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Bureaucrat activity requirements

You are receiving this message because you are listed at Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Former bureaucrats. Writ Keeper pointed out that these users were not directly notified of the community discussion ending August 2015, where consensus was reached to remove the bureaucrat permissions of users who have not participated in bureaucrat activity for three years.

As of 1 October 2015, any former bureaucrat who has not participated in bureaucrat activity for three years that wishes their bureaucrat permissions restored will need to request reinstatement at RFB.

If you intend to return to bureaucrat activity, please request restoration of permissions before 1 October 2015 or three years passes since your last bureaucrat activity, whichever is later.

To assist with the implementation of this requirement, please see Wikipedia:Bureaucrat activity. Modeled after Wikipedia:Inactive administrators and similar to that process, the log page will be created on 1 September 2015. Bureaucrats who have not met the activity requirements as of that date will be notified by email (where possible) and on their talk page to advise of the pending removal.

If the notified user does not return to bureaucrat activity and the permissions are removed, they will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFB. Removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon the affected user in any way.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. –xenotalk 20:53, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

attribution Thank you for your Free Work Mr Ed Poor Cya2evernote (talk) 12:53, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Note

Following up the last note I left you regarding implementing bureaucrat activity requirements, please note that any potential restoration of permissions is also subject to Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Inactive bureaucrat accounts: a former bureaucrat who has been completely inactive for three years would need to seek reinstatement at WP:RFB notwithstanding my last note. –xenotalk 12:44, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wiki Loves Pride 2016

As a participant of WikiProject LGBT studies, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:01, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Antisemitism

Just wanted to let you know that I have tagged Wikipedia:Antisemitism with {{Historical}} since it seems as though the page may never have been considered for promotion to essay or policy after its creation and only edit about five years ago. I have no prejudice with something else happening to the page to fix or upgrade its status (such as it being userfied, etc.) Steel1943 (talk) 20:30, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Timeline of Turkish history, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Justice and Development Party. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Welcome to the reviewer club. Congratz on getting your very own Pending Changes Reviewer license. Do not be afraid to ask for help with reviewing pending edits either on my talk and/or at other users with reviewer permissions as well as other wiki admins. Thanks for you contributions and your time on enwiki! Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ (talk) 16:50, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

I have again reverted edits of yours that do nothing more than creating a piped link to avoid a redirect. This is not recommended, for reasons explained in WP:NOTBROKEN and other guidelines linked from there. I remember this is not the first time I have reverted for this reason. In fact, your edit history shows hundreds of edits with the summary "reduce redirect". There is nothing wrong with links pointing to a redirect - please do not change them unless you think the article benefits from different wording, or the link can be simplified per WP:NOPIPE. Burninthruthesky (talk) 08:22, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Golly, I just read not broken and I'm shocked at all my wasted effort. Ahem, perhaps I should say, "counterproductive":
  • the systematic "fixing of redirects" may eradicate useful information
Thanks for stopping me before I make things still worse. :-( --Uncle Ed (talk) 18:29, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Please consider reactivation at MedCom

This is being sent to you because you are listed as an emeritus member of MedCom and an examination of your contribution page suggests that you are still active at en-Wikipedia. MedCom is currently down to three or four active members (there are more than that on the active member list, but some of them have not edited Wikipedia in quite awhile). We have a current case awaiting a mediator which is receiving no response from the request for a mediator sent on the MedCom mailing list a couple of days ago, Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Expulsion of Cham Albanians. Would you please consider reactivating your membership, taking that case, or both? If you're interested in doing so and are not still on the MedCom mailing list, please just let me know and I'll reactivate you and add you to the list. Richard Helm listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Richard Helm. Since you had some involvement with the Richard Helm redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Wlmg (talk) 04:19, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about that I mistook Richard Helm for Richard Hell. I have made note of this at the deletion discussion with a mea culpa. Wlmg (talk) 14:27, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
