Sara Ezquerro moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Sara Ezquerro, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. == Question from Kanyakumari123 (13:09, 2 June 2021) ==
Hello, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Anish_Thangamuthu Publish This Article --Kanyakumari123 (talk) 13:09, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi! Kanyakumari123, thank you for your effort to create this article, although the article is written poorly, the subject being written about is not notable to be in Wikipedia, I have done a google search on him here and it only shows a few social media results which is not enough to verify notability. Thank you again The Living love talk 14:26, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 8 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 9 June. It will be on all wikis from 10 June (calendar).
Future changes
- The Wikimedia movement uses Phabricator for technical tasks. This is where we collect technical suggestions, bugs and what developers are working on. The company behind Phabricator will stop working on it. This will not change anything for the Wikimedia movement now. It could lead to changes in the future. [2][3][4]
- Searching on Wikipedia will find more results in some languages. This is mainly true for when those who search do not use the correct diacritics because they are not seen as necessary in that language. For example searching for
Bedusz
doesn't findBędusz
on German Wikipedia. The characterę
isn't used in German so many would writee
instead. This will work better in the future in some languages. [5] - The CSRF token parameters in the action API were changed in 2014. The old parameters from before 2014 will stop working soon. This can affect bots, gadgets and user scripts that still use the old parameters. [6][7]

Something to watch out for
I just ran into this today, this is the third attempt, there was an iteration in the past as Savvy Rinu which I handled, now this is something to watching out for. Thought to give you a heads up! Celestina007 (talk) 22:19, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Sir, I am from India and in search of Wikipedia:Most-wanted articles of India especially northern India. How I can find these most wanted articles of northern India to create more. --I love to be honest (talk) 08:43, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Welcome HariSinghw, Look at this Requested articles from WikiProject India, you can join the project if you want to and help improve topics related to India and also get connections to experience users from your country. I hope this helps. The Living love talk 09:38, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Heads up!
In case you run into Draft:Ifie Sekibo at AFC, they are at it again! Although I have taken action see here & here. I believe the article would continue to pop up every now and again, the subject is a Billionaire so I’m sure his resources are limitless. Celestina007 (talk) 00:49, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- I feel bad for the subject of the article though, he is being milked real hard by the UPE ring, the ring knows the page is most likely not going to be retained on mainspace but they milk him real hard regardless, it’s funny and sad all the same. Celestina007 (talk) 00:59, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Logged-in users on the mobile web can choose to use the advanced mobile mode. They now see categories in a similar way as users on desktop do. This means that some gadgets that have just been for desktop users could work for users of the mobile site too. If your wiki has such gadgets you could decide to turn them on for the mobile site too. Some gadgets probably need to be fixed to look good on mobile. [8]
- Language links on Wikidata now works for multilingual Wikisource. [9]
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Future changes
- In the future we can't show the IP of unregistered editors to everyone. This is because privacy regulations and norms have changed. There is now a rough draft of how showing the IP to those who need to see it could work.
- German Wikipedia, English Wikivoyage and 29 smaller wikis will be read-only for a few minutes on 22 June. This is planned between 5:00 and 5:30 UTC. [10]
- All wikis will be read-only for a few minutes in the week of 28 June. More information will be published in Tech News later. It will also be posted on individual wikis in the coming weeks. [11][12]

Hello, I am sorry. I meant to put a edit summary but for some reason it wasn’t posted correctly. I will try to post it in the future for the reason why the edit was made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:154:8100:3EE1:F1E3:893B:B4AB:AF37 (talk) 08:15, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Why did you inappropriately revert edits on the GAD page?
When reverting edits, it is very important you give a description as to why. I will be moving to the talk page about this.
107.10.140.224 (talk) 08:49, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- You can not be serious, wow now I have to spend 10 minutes correct your mistakes. Please DO NOT make faulty reverts. I CORRECTED false information (like for instance, benzos were introduced in the 60s, not the 70s).
- Please start the discussion on the article talk page as to why the contents should be removed, let's have other people's opinions and consensus first. Thanks The Living love talk 09:07, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- That's not how facts work. Librium was introduced in 1960, valium in 1963. Before my edit the page read "benzodiazepines were widely used starting in the 1970s"...that statement is false. I don't need a discussion about a matter of fact. The sky is blue, there is no discussion to be had. Grass is green, there is no discussion to be had. I spent a good 30 minutes working to fix the GAD page, removing objectively (as in, not my opinion, but fact) false information, I also fixed wording that made the read smoother. You undid 30 minutes of work without any reason given. If you do this again, I will report you. Do not flippantly revert edits for no reason.

107.10.140.224 (talk) 09:18, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- That's for you, might be someone from the field but for me, I just reverted an edit tagged "section blanking" with an edit summary that says "It is irresponsible and beneficial to no one to list "insignificant, highly biased, single study" quackery as possible aid for GAD. Chinese bloodletting is illegal in California and can be extremely dangerous." No fixing or correction is mentioned which I suspect might be it goes different to your thoughts on it that's why you removed it. And next time your edit is reverted just explain what you did, I can undo my revert with a single click no need redo anything. The Living love talk 09:45, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- You lost me a bit. It wasn't just that section that you reverted, you reverted my entire editing of the page which made the gesture seem like some kind of personal attack. It was quite strange. As for why I removed the "complementary and alternative medicine" section, a couple reasons - none of the purported treatments (Chinese bloodletting, Swedish massage, floating in water, etc.) had proven effectiveness, in fact almost all of them had "insignificant findings" in their descriptions...which makes them superfluous. Secondly, none of the CAMs mentioned were backed by science and all of them are viewed by experts in the field as pseudoscience. Promoting or giving attention to pseudoscience as being legitimate seems like a bad idea. Frankly, I'm surprised no one objected to the inclusion of "CAMs" sooner, though things do slip through the cracks at wiki occasionally. Look, you can do what you want. I exerted a fair amount of brain power, effort, and did research to clean up this particular wiki page. I'm not gonna spend another 30 minutes on it. I don't have the energy.

107.10.140.224 (talk) 10:17, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yes! I know it would revert the whole of your edits, the main issue is, you removed content including its references without providing valid reasons with sources to verify your proposition, that's why no one will allow that on here. I can see someone has reverted you again. The Living love talk 12:30, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- This is the last I'll write about the subject. The valid reason(s) were 1. The sources showed that none of the CAMs mentioned were effective at ameliorating anxiety, 2. Some of the CAMs mentioned are illegal in various states and countries, and 3. All of the CAMs mentioned are known as pseudoscience thus they are illegitimate. Any one of those 3 would be "valid reasons". Also you are wrong yet again, this is my area of expertise and my edits on other anxiety related wiki articles have been applauded by long time contributors. It is you and the person who blindly followed you who have made the mistake, who are in the wrong. But clearly neither will be an adult and admit that you reverted to "feel powerful" so it is what it is. Like I said, I'm not going to exhaust the energy fixing your mistake. It's in the logs, anyone can look at the logs. Anyone can read about how CAMs are 1. ineffective and 2. dangerous and come to the conclusion, "wow, why is this harmful content on a wiki page?" and see in the logs that I tried to fix things. I'm moving on. 107.10.140.224 (talk) 18:12, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- Wow! This is interesting, please when you do the corrections provide your sources and that's all, it's just how Wikipedia works and I know as someone from the field you have a bunch of them available, please do provide them or else your reasoning wouldn't be accepted. The Living love talk 18:33, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
- Look, I have patients to see so I don't have time to continue a back and forth. I'm guessing you didn't read what you reverted, if you had you would have seen that the CAM sources themselves showed "insignificant results" based on "poor quality studies". They should have never been added in the first place. You don't cure lung cancer by smoking more. This is self evident. I can provide sources *but the sources I provide would be the exact same sources already used in the article that demonstrate no positive outcome for CAMs and you can't use the same source twice on a wiki page*. It appears you are having density problems so no matter what I say, it will be moot. Gonna have to leave it there for me. You get the last word.107.10.140.224 (talk) 18:54, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Tech News
- The next issue of Tech News will be sent out on 19 July.
Recent changes
- AutoWikiBrowser is a tool to make repetitive tasks easier. It now uses JSON.
Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage
has moved toWikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPageJSON
andWikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Config
.Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage/Version
has moved toWikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage/VersionJSON
. The tool will eventually be configured on the wiki so that you don't have to wait until the new version to add templates or regular expression fixes. [21]
Problems
- InternetArchiveBot helps saving online sources on some wikis. It adds them to Wayback Machine and links to them there. This is so they don't disappear if the page that was linked to is removed. It currently has a problem with linking to the wrong date when it moves pages from
archive.is
toweb.archive.org
. [22]
Changes later this week
- The tool to find, add and remove templates will be updated. This is to make it easier to find and use the right templates. It will come to the first wikis on 7 July. It will come to more wikis later this year. [23][24]
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Future changes
- Some Wikimedia wikis use Flagged Revisions or pending changes. It hides edits from new and unregistered accounts for readers until they have been patrolled. The auto review action in Flagged Revisions will no longer be logged. All old logs of auto-review will be removed. This is because it creates a lot of logs that are not very useful. [25]

Revert at Pokémon UNITE
Hi M-Mustapha. Thanks for helping fight the recent vandalism at Pokémon UNITE! I'd just like to advice you to check the full history of the page you are reverting before doing so (or right after, if you ever feel reverting immediately is important). When you revert only the most recent editor, which happened here, you can help hide the previous bad faith edits, making it harder in the future to fix the article. In this case it was obvious something was still wrong, since the infobox was broken, but not checking the page's history can result in stealthy vandalism (like year of birth/death changes) to stay longer. Recent changes
- The tool to find, add and remove templates was updated. This is to make it easier to find and use the right templates. It was supposed to come to the first wikis on 7 July. It was delayed to 12 July instead. It will come to more wikis later this year. [26][27]
- Special:UnconnectedPages lists pages that are not connected to Wikidata. This helps you find pages that can be connected to Wikidata items. Some pages should not be connected to Wikidata. You can use the magic word

on pages that should not be listed on the special page. [28]

- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 20 July. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 21 July. It will be on all wikis from 22 July (calendar).
Future changes
- How media is structured in the parser's HTML output will soon change. This can affect bots, gadgets, user scripts and extensions. You can read more. You can test it on Testwiki or Testwiki 2.
- The parameters for how you obtain tokens in the MediaWiki API were changed in 2014. The old way will no longer work from 1 September. Scripts, bots and tools that use the parameters from before the 2014 change need to be updated. You can read more.

Finding J Smith
Hello! Firstly, thank you so much for your feedback on my draft article Draft:Finding J Smith. The sources provided were from TVNZ (The listing of the show when it aired in 2003), Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, The New Zealand Herald and NZ On Air. I am unable to find any further sources unfortunately due to the age of the show and what is now still online. I believe these sources are reliable. See sources from New Zealand here [29] Thank you again :) Appreciate any feedback. Otherwise, I can't do much with the article. This was all I could find. --ArleneHerman (talk) 21:46, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- I have now added and found this source here too from Variety [30] Thank you! --ArleneHerman (talk) 22:08, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Cape Independence Advocacy Group
Hi, about your comment related to Cape Independence Advocacy Group keep in mind, this group operates in South Africa - you can't really expect it to have New York Times articles to reference. In terms of South African media, it points at 20 articles in South African publications (and a few smaller international). How would you set the bar in this context? 20 seems like a fairly big number. Any other advice? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joefrog (talk • contribs)

Recent changes
- If your wiki uses markup like
<div class="mw-content-ltr">
or<div class="mw-content-rtl">
without the requireddir
attribute, then these will no longer work in 2 weeks. There is a short-term fix that can be added to your local wiki's Common.css page, which is explained at T287701. From now on, all usages should include the full attributes, for example:<div class="mw-content-ltr" dir="ltr" lang="en">
or<div class="mw-content-rtl" dir="rtl" lang="he">
. This also applies to some other HTML tags, such asspan
orcode
. You can find existing examples on your wiki that need to be updated, using the instructions at T287701. - Reminder: Wikimedia has migrated to the Libera Chat IRC network, from the old Freenode network. Local documentation should be updated.
Problems
- Last week, all wikis had slow access or no access for 30 minutes. There was a problem with generating dynamic lists of articles on the Russian Wikinews, due to the bulk import of 200,000+ new articles over 3 days, which led to database problems. The problematic feature has been disabled on that wiki and developers are discussing if it can be fixed properly. [31][32]
Changes later this week
- When adding links to a page using VisualEditor or the 2017 wikitext editor, disambiguation pages will now only appear at the bottom of search results. This is because users do not often want to link to disambiguation pages. [33]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 3 August. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 4 August. It will be on all wikis from 5 August (calendar).
Future changes
- The team of the Wikipedia app for Android is working on communication in the app. The developers are working on how to talk to other editors and get notifications. You can read more. They are looking for users who want to test the plans. Any editor who has an Android phone and is willing to download the app can do this.
- The Beta Feature for Discussion tools will be updated in the coming weeks. You will be able to subscribe to individual sections on a talk page at more wikis. You can test this now by adding
?dtenable=1
to the end of the talk page's URL (example).

Speedy deletion nomination of Stella Fakiyesi
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stella Fakiyesi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.stellafakiyesi.com/3145207-bio-cv. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Changes later this week
- The Wikimania Hackathon will take place remotely on 13 August, starting at 5:00 UTC, for 24 hours. You can participate in many ways. You can still propose projects and sessions.
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 10 August. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 11 August. It will be on all wikis from 12 August (calendar).
- The old CSS
<div class="visualClear"></div>
will not be supported after 12 August. Instead, templates and pages should use<div style="clear:both;"></div>
. Please help to replace any existing uses on your wiki. There are global-search links available at T287962.
Future changes
- The Wikipedia Library is a place for Wikipedia editors to get access to sources. There is an extension which has a new function to tell users when they can take part in it. It will use notifications. It will start pinging the first users in September. It will ping more users later. [35]
- Vue.js will be the JavaScript framework for MediaWiki in the future. [36]

Re this edit to Randy Wayne (biologist): you restored information that had been removed claiming that the removal was "unexplained". Yet the editor who removed the material left an edit summary indicating that the material was "unnecessary". If you'll look, you'll see that the removed material is simply a list of every professor Wayne studied under at some point, whether notable or not. Moreover, the material is unsourced. This particular article has been extensively edited by a user who claims to be Wayne himself, and the autobiographical nature of the article shows. I think it best to allow this particular removal of material to stand. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:15, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

- A revision tag will soon be added to edits that add links to disambiguation pages. This is because these links are usually added by accident. The tag will allow editors to easily find the broken links and fix them. If your wiki does not like this feature, it can be hidden. [41]
- Would you like to help improve the information about tools? Would you like to attend or help organize a small virtual meetup for your community to discuss the list of tools? Please get in touch on the Toolhub Quality Signal Sessions talk page. We are also looking for feedback from tool maintainers on some specific questions.
- In the past, edits to any page in your user talk space ignored your mute list, e.g. sub-pages. Starting this week, this is only true for edits to your talk page. [42]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 17 August. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 18 August. It will be on all wikis from 19 August (calendar).

Alain Guélis Decline
Hello Mustapha, I saw that you refused my draft on the composer Alain Guélis, you certainly have good reasons, so if I greatly shortened the introduction in a much more neutral way, and that I remove the sources like youtube, by leaving only sources such as the press, the library of congress, the national library of France, and going into much less detail of musical works, do you think it could be better? thank you for your advice do not hesitate I do not have much experience. see you soon.--AMPYTRION (talk) 17:39, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi AMPYTRION, thanks for contributing to Wikipedia and helping to expand the project scope. Yes, of course, that will make it better, please go ahead and make the changes and don't hesitate to resubmit again for review when you are done. By the way, I dropped a welcome note on your talkpage with some helpful links to guide you. The Living love talk 21:10, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
Merci beaucoup Mustapha ! je vais regarder ça avec attention et je vais essayer d'aller dans ce sens. bien à vous
AMPYTRION (talk) 08:17, 2 August 2021 (UTC) Hello Mustapha, I reviewed my draft on the composer Alain Guélis, I shortened a lot, used a much more neutral tone, much less advertising, I removed the youtube links and left only references, but I am waiting for your precious advices.--AMPYTRION (talk) 19:13, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Trout
Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |
This is for Shershaah. It would be helpful if you check before undoing like you did here and here. You reinserted vandalism that an inexperienced IP was trying to remove. 2405:201:4013:80F5:B187:1062:5D0:21A1 (talk) 22:27, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

Submission
Good evening Em-mustapha. Thank you so much for your observations and review of the submission. I have edited and hope to resubmit. Can you please go through my draft to see if everything is in place as you suggested? Also feel free to identify those areas that needs to be edited. Thank you once more --Olugold (talk) 18:40, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you Olugold, for improving the article and making the necessary corrections. I have gone through it, but still, I suggest you add more references from independent secondary sources and please remove all the links to external websites in the body of the article. Best The Living love talk 23:43, 3 September 2021 (UTC)
Okay I'll do that. Thank you Em-mustapha for your response.--Olugold (talk) 06:35, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- Growth features are now deployed to almost all Wikipedias. For the majority of small Wikipedias, the features are only available for experienced users, to test the features and configure them. Features will be available for newcomers starting on 20 September 2021.
- MediaWiki had a feature that would highlight local links to short articles in a different style. Each user could pick the size at which "stubs" would be highlighted. This feature was very bad for performance, and following a consultation, has been removed. [56]
- A technical change was made to the MonoBook skin to allow for easier maintenance and upkeep. This has resulted in some minor changes to HTML that make MonoBook's HTML consistent with other skins. Efforts have been made to minimize the impact on editors, but please ping Jon (WMF) on wiki or in phabricator if any problems are reported.
Problems
- There was a problem with search last week. Many search requests did not work for 2 hours because of an accidental restart of the search servers. [57]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 21 September. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 22 September. It will be on all wikis from 23 September (calendar).
- The meta=proofreadpage API has changed. The
piprop
parameter has been renamed toprpiprop
. API users should update their code to avoid unrecognized parameter warnings. Pywikibot users should upgrade to 6.6.0. [58]
Future changes
- The Reply tool will be deployed to the remaining wikis in the coming weeks. It is currently part of "Discussion tools" in Beta features at most wikis. You will be able to turn it off in Editing Preferences. [59]
- The previously announced change to how you obtain tokens from the API has been delayed to September 21 because of an incompatibility with Pywikibot. Bot operators using Pywikibot can follow T291202 for progress on a fix, and should plan to upgrade to 6.6.1 when it is released.
