Hello, FloridaArmy
Thank you for creating Lakewood Theatre Colony.
User:Dmehus, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
This redirect seems like it would be useful, though I was uncertain on which redirect categories to use, so have used {{R from alternative spelling}} and {{R from incorrect name}}. You may find the Archer redirect categorization script helpful. After you edit a redirect with Archer, be sure to double-check to make sure you've used the categories appropriately.

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission:
I think you need to give more exact sourcing before you ask for drafts to be approved. Don't just give the GBooks link, but publication information on the original, and the relevant page number. Information on a printed book should give enough information to get it from a library. The GB link is necessary also, of course, especially because you are probably basing the entire article on it. February 2020
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Samuel Shipman. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please do not continually resubmit articles with little to no improvement in hopes of WP:GAMING the system. - FloridaArmy, I'm afraid I have to agree with Sirfur. When reviewers ask for improvements, please work with them, or discuss why you think further improvements are not needed. For the Shipman article, he might be notable, but you need to show that. And frankly, you of all people should be writing better articles. You've written so many articles and done so much research, you should know the importance of writing good articles. An article with not even three sentences of prose is of essentially no value. Please improve the article further before submitting again. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 03:04, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. kingboyk (talk) 22:10, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- User:kingboyk are you nominating and deleting drafts? How much time are you giving draft creators after notifying them and before deleting? Are you using discretion in which ones you delete? FloridaArmy (talk) 22:28, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello. Yes indeed, I sometimes work through the list of expired drafts.
- There is no notice period (but this is under discussion at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion; some editors think a PROD-type process should be introduced instead).
- Yes, I exercise discretion: I often make keep-alive edits or submit for review instead of deleting; I perform history merges when I observe that a draft has been copy-and-paste-moved to mainspace; and I keep a look out for spam and hoaxes.
- I am also active at WP:REFUND, helping folks get there drafts back if they want to resume work on them.
- Your draft was deleted because 6 months had expired and it has only one source so is clearly not ready for mainspace or review. I'm also aware that you know how to get drafts back at WP:REFUND when you need them. Of course, as an established user you could create your drafts in sandbox where they would be safe fromd speedy deletion (unless tagged as AFC drafts)... --kingboyk (talk) 22:41, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for your prompt reply User:kingboyk. I don't think sandbox drafts are safe after 6 months either, but I could be wrong. And drafspace invites anyone to work on a writeup.
- Giving editors some time to see what's run up against the 6 months time limit seems to me to be the most sensible, practical, and courteous approach. I, like any commoner editor, have no ability to see what was deleted without seeking a refund which may not be warranted. I don't like lack of courtesy or time wasting approaches on Wikipedia. Seems counterproductive. Thanks for the good works you do. And thanks again for answering. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:48, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- I just had a power cut so I'm on mobile hotspot and battery power :/ There is certainly some merit in the new idea of 'proposing deletion' for expired drafts and waiting a week. Thank you for the nice reply. --kingboyk (talk) 23:19, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

advice
as you know, we're way behind on the reviews. Please make it easier by not making it necessary to review more than once. Go over what you have waiting, and try to clean them up to emphasise the better sources. I will clean up in a few fields I'm interested in, but I can't do them all, and it does look like other reviewers may be losing patience. DGG ( talk ) 04:55, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
And the way you add a note about the redirect, it's *great* that you point them out, because few contributors do, but they tend to get lost when the article is accepted, & it's a little unfair to expect the reviewer to make them. . The best course will be to keep track and make them yourself after it gets accepted . (and, in addition, to list them not at the top of the article, but in a note at the bottom: It has more of a chance of being kept by the AFCH macro) DGG ( talk ) 04:58, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
