Speedy deletion nomination of File:Alison King Arrivals British Soap Awards Part xaeiIlN8 Zol.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Alison King Arrivals British Soap Awards Part xaeiIlN8 Zol.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —C.Fred (talk) 22:06, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- A little more searching revealed that the image came from Getty Images, and their images are not under a free license. —C.Fred (talk) 22:07, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 2
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Being Evel, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Jackass and George Hamilton. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:56, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Omni Flames. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Siege Week seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Omni Flames (talk) 10:05, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Tying up some loose ends
editYeah, pointing out people being bound and gagged in movie articles whenever you can seems unnecessary at best. --Jtalledo (talk) 23:24, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

editHello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Lea Michele does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! bojo1498 talk 19:55, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
editHello FryUp32, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Ozzy (film) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:21, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Alison King This Morning.png
editThanks for uploading File:Alison King This Morning.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. January (talk) 23:09, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Majora. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Gag have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Repeated violations of copyright policies after being warned is considered vandalism. Please do not do it again. Majora (talk) 00:13, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Majora. The contributions I have made are constructive. You have made a mistake. A quick look at your page I can see you were recently sent the message: "Hello Majora, It has come to our attention that you have uploaded several files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing" You clearly don't understand how the use of images works on Wikipedia. Overzealous editing is not necessary. The edits I have made are constructive. If you'd like to discuss why you think they aren't, then leave me a message. Until then please stop aggressively editing. FryUp32 (talk) 00:16, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- Curious: Where is this message to Majora? I can't see it anywhere in his page, archives, nor in any edit history does it seem to have been removed? Chaheel Riens (talk) 10:30, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

editHi,
I just noticed as our discussion evolves that your sigs seem to be either missing, or non-standard, as if you're typing them out or C&P'ing them. Don't mean to patronise, but are you aware that you can append a full sig to the end of your post by either typing four tildes - ~~~~, or you can just click the "Sign your posts on talk pages:" just underneath the text box. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
editHello, FryUp32. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

edit You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. –Davey2010Talk 20:01, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- You need to provide an actual source for the image, please don't revert until you've added a source to that image otherwise you could be blocked, Thank you. –Davey2010Talk 20:03, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Alison King This Morning Interview.png
editThanks for uploading File:Alison King This Morning Interview.png.
- Go to the file description page and add the text

editYou may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you upload a blatantly unencyclopedic image. –Davey2010Talk 22:53, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- They are NOT unencyclopedic! Just like you agreed File:Alison King headshot.png was fine, the images are not in violation of fair use policy, nor are they overused. There are not too many of them. There is no problem with these images so just leave it be. FryUp32 (talk) 22:55, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Notice
editThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Non-free images issues. Thank you. Majora (talk) 01:10, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- I strongly suggest you reply at the noticeboard. Your misperceptions of how copyright and fair use are applied on English Wikipedia is putting the project at risk. Free-use photos of living people might reasonably be created by a photographer taking a picture of the subject and releasing it under an appropriate license. --NeilN talk to me 01:39, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

December 2016
editPlease take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page:
{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. NeilN talk to me 14:06, 19 December 2016 (UTC)Your responses show you plainly don't understand our policy of "non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose." As such, you are indefinitely blocked. You can be unblocked if you promise not to upload any more images to Wikipedia. --NeilN talk to me 14:13, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- I have been trying to amend the mistake, you moron. I demand an unblock right away, as it is unjustified FryUp32 (talk) 18:42, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have been blocked for trying to add constructively to Wikipedia by clearly a bullying editor. I want unblocked right away FryUp32 (talk) 18:45, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This is not the case. You've been blocked for violating our copyright policies. See WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:FU. A quick check shows you are indeed violating our fair-use policies, at least, and the consensus of WP:ANI was to block you. You are very welcome to familiarise yourself with these policies and request another unblock. It's very likely that unblock would be successful if you refrain from personal attacks and if you clearly explain why your upload(s) were inappropriate, so we can be sure you understand the (often confusing) policies around fair-use. Yamla (talk) 18:49, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
I have no wish to seem like I am rubbing it in, but using language like "bullying editor" or calling another user a moron is not going to convince an admin you understand why you were blocked, and are going to operate within policy in future. I would suggest reading fair use policy, then coming back and explaining that you now understand what you did wrong.Slatersteven (talk) 11:59, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
