edit

Thanks for uploading File:Elisabeth Domitien, Prime Minister of the Central African Republic.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 00:55, 30 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Bolding

edit

Hello Gag. I would have hope that you being reverted several times by different users would have given you a clue that the bolding isn't wanted, but now I'm asking outright for you to stop adding it. In particular, bolding in infoboxes doesn't work because the party name appearance is coded, and cannot be bolded, so it looks stupid to have some bits bold and others not. Non-free image use

edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically User:Gag0409/sandbox, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:26, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Gago409, Please be careful when copying and pasting image files into your user sandbox. Not every image file you see on Wikipedia is freely licensed or in the public domain. Certain files have been uploaded locally to Wikipedia as non-free content and there are strict limitations on how these files may be used. Non-free images are only allowed to be used in the article namespace per WP:NFCC#9; they cannot be used (displayed) in sandboxes. Each image you see on Wikipedia is required to have a copyright license and you can check a particular file's licensing by clicking on the image and looking at the file's page. Image use is tricky and lots of people make good faith mistakes in using them. If, however, you continue to use non-free content in an inappropriate manner, then eventually it's going to be seen as disruptive and a copyright violation, which in turn may lead to an administrator being asked to get involved. The safest thing to do when you're not sure of a particular file's licensing is simply to just not copy it into your sandbox and then ask for help at WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:34, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
You really need to try and be more careful and stop adding non-free images to your sandbox. If you continue to do so, an administrator will be asked to get involved. -- Marchjuly (talk) 15:06, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 158.140.187.224. The IP that my network and the IP on the blocked notification are different. I need advice on how to solve this. The IP address given is the blocked one, but I never edit anything using VPN cause I know it will be blocked. I have checked the contributing IPs and it's not my IP. I don't know why my IP listed as that. I hope Wikipedia administrators can give some advices on how to ensure this thing won't happen again.

Decline reason:

If you turn your VPN off before contributing to Wikipedia, you may also need to clear your browser's cache before editing, as cookies could cause Wikipedia to "think" your VPN is on even if it is off. The fact that you get a different IP than your actual one suggests this. 331dot (talk) 08:31, 13 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! ― Tartan357 Talk 04:11, 4 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
