Names
editReviving the issue of names. What about RP Singh as a disambig page which point to the two RP Singhs, and redirect Rudra Pratap Singh to the disambig page ? Tintin (talk) 10:29, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Okay. That would be fine. Tintin (talk) 07:56, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

India:Portal
editHi Ganesh, I have requested Shyam to address the concerns you put forward regarding the nomination process for the portal's selected articles, since he had taken the initiative in setting up that feature for us. He will probably reply directly on WP:PR or on my talk page. Will keep you posted. AreJay 03:44, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Proceure for appearing an article on Portal:India
editGaneshk, thank you for your response. I was seeking this type of response for Portal:India. I have moved the page towards Portal talk:India Tomorrow's selected article from Portal talk:India Today's selected article. Sorry for inconvenience, but once an article has been appeared on Portal:India, it can not be changed. For future appearances you can post a request on this talk page. I have left a message on it. Please read it. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 09:45, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!!
editThank you for the Barnstar!! Just when I was thinking if anyone had even noticed the edits I have made!! This should keep me motivated to complete the entire ODI Bios list!
Thanks once again

need some templates
editI finally made the page Wikipedia:WikiProject Hinduism/Peer review. Could you make some templates for it? Particulary {{WPHINDUISM Peer review}}
and {{WPHINDUISM Old peer review}}

Fair use rationale
editHi, for fair use, you don't need the permission from anyone. The best links regarding images are available on WP:IUP. However, for fair use images, you need to provide a rationale as outlined on Image_description_page - an admittedly average, but instructive example can be found at Image:Sania_on_Time.jpg. I was more concerned about making a portrair by seeing a photograph and then releasing it under PD. I am not sure about the legality of the same. For example, some computer software can convert a photo into a drawing - that would definitely not change the licensing. However, here I am confused; I am also a trifle busy and hence could not followit up. You may want to ask for comments on the talkpage of WP:IUP or a more relevant page. btw, among the admin links that I gave you, Durin's subpages are the best, imo. And thanks a ton for your warm words - what you are doing in energising Indian community on WP is even more note-worthy. --Gurubrahma 05:28, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi,I saw that you have added the wikify tag to List of railway stations in India. Am yet to get the hang of certain things in Wikipedia, so is there any other way the article can be wikified?The Silent Contributor 06:48, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

WP:PIN
editHi Ganesh,
Portal India is WP:FPCAN right now. Please contribute by voting aye or nay on the page. Thanks! AreJay 20:01, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Ganesh, noticed that you have been addressing some of the objections. I am also calling in User:Urshyam — he was heading up the selected article project for the portal, so he should be in a position to answer points 2, 5, and 6. I have always felt that we should only have featured articles as Portal selected articles, and if that means reducing the frequency of selected articles, so be it. Your thoughts? AreJay 23:31, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ganesh, great work and as you say, I am beginning to feel that the selected articles/selected picture section is unnecessarily complicated. I think it is an interesting idea, however, it is not practical since we do not have enough high quality/featured articles to feature one every day. All this aside from the fact of course that it is a fork of WP:FAC. I have requested Urshyam's attention and hopefully we can simplify matters a little bit. Thanks again for all the great work! AreJay 00:41, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Does moving a page also automatically move subpages associated with it? If it does, then I can just go ahead and move Portal:India Today's Selected Article (and all the subpages associated with it) to Portal:India/Today's Selected Article/... I reviewed Wikipedia:Move but found nothing on the matter. If it dosen't work this way, I propose scrapping this whole selected article process and restarting it within the appropriate sub page in a manner that makes sense and dosen't fly in the the face of established Wiki policies. Any thoughts? AreJay 16:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ganesh, I have nominated both the portals for deletion. But still there are some pages which should go for deletion. I am seeking if any information can be gained from them before deletion we can do. After deletion we will have to work hard, if something is missing. Thank you for appericiation. Still we need to publicize nomination process for articles and pictures. Any suggestion will be appericiated. Shyam (T/C) 11:40, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Hello Sir I'm nominating this page for deletion because it is written with a point of view , excessive use of unreliable sources.and the title "Khalistan" is wrong for the topic because "Khalistan" does not exist,lack of support from resident Punjabi's and Sikhs in India, but there was a "Movement for Khalistan" and that is the right title for the topic, and i think this whole article "a new name" should be rewritten with the help of people from sikh community "in" India and other Indians, because this topic is related to politics/people of India.We all should understand Khalistan is not a political entity and having a article is not justified, Microsoft Encarta and Britannic encyclopedia don't have an article known as "Khalistan" but they do have articles on the movement that took place decades back, and i think there are also copyright issues involved with this article because big parts of this article are written on other peoples research. Many reliable sources are used to show "one side" of their view on the topic, there are also indications that organisations banned by US and EU are involved in providing their research on the movement.I am a strong supporter to have a stub on this topic , but im afraid that such articles on wikipedia have become mouthpieces for organisation which are known for disrupting peace (assassination of one of india's prime minister, twin bomb blast in New Delhi on the eve of Diwali) in Indian sub continent. This article requires your attention , please help. Anmol.2k4 18:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi
editHi Ganeshk! Thanks for your message on my talk page. Of course, things like this are not going to change the way I've been contributing since November. The law of karma is infallible. Cheers. deeptrivia (talk) 02:31, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
INCOTW
editHi Ganesh, the FPCAN for WP:PIN appears to be progressing satisfactorily. I know you have a lot on your plate right now, but when you get the chance can you update WP:INCOTW? I think based on the current votes tally Jaisalmer (3) will be our new INCOTW. I was going to change it myself, but seeing as how I messed things up a couple of weeks ago, I think I would rather leave it up to the pros to handle :) AreJay 03:52, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi! A request has been made for peer review of Kolkata. Could you please help improving the article? Thanks a lot.--Dwaipayanc 11:23, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

editTemplate:User WikiProject Hinduism
Want to fix it up a little bit?--Dangerous-Boy 20:46, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi there
editIt was cool to have another Indian Wikipedian on #wikipedia. Now that you have created the Template for Wikiproject Hinduism, I believe that you should also post about it on the respective Wikiproject page. You can contact me through my email address. It is anirudhsbh at gmail dot com. I am using GTalk (Gmail Talk). --Andy123(talk) 22:40, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- You said that you live in the US, so you will not be needing the special proxy software to login to freenode.org IRC network. You can just download an IRC client (pref. mIRC), and then start using it. --Andy123(talk) 22:44, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Even I dont see you online on Gmail. How about logging into Yahoo! Messenger? My id is anirudhbhati at yahoo dot co dot in. If you do not have the client you can access Yahoo! Messenger through Meebo.com and E-Messenger --Andy123(talk) 22:54, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that you tagged the page India Portal for speedy deletion with the reason "redirect to a portal in main space, can use WP:PIN instead". However, "redirect to a portal in main space, can use WP:PIN instead" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use one of our other deletion processes, proposed deletion or redirects for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle 21:58, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
