Kendra Lust = (redacted)

Hello Gene, well, how can one define a "reliable source"? Let me clarify: my addition was based on a string of entries. Let me put them here:

(Redacted)

you can immediately see (numerous pictures!) that his wife is indeed Kendra Lust, pictures on his page make it obvious.

These three pieces of evidence combined look fully reliable to me.

Probably instead of citing only [1] I had to cite also [2] and [3]?

Of course there remains an ethical issue: she is an adult film actress and she doesn't make her real name open herself. So, even though now it seems quite clear what her real name is, maybe it still not 100% ethical to put her real name in the Wikipedia article!? If this is the case I certainly wouldn't insist on re-putting the info about her real name there. I do mean no disrespect, for sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Urbain.legrandier (talkcontribs) 20:43, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

  • @Urbain.legrandier: NONE of these "sources" are acceptable in Wikipedia. Wikipedia policies about living people WP:BLP says to respect the privacy of names of people in sensitive lines of work. Contentious information needs to be cited to reputable published sources. Self-published sources are note acceptable. Link #1 is a self-published blog meant to out people. Link #2 is a self-published death announcement with no proven link to the subject. Link #3 is user-generated Facebook content, no a reliable source. Please also note that BLP applies to all Wikipedia page spaces. Suggestion: let this go. • Gene93k (talk) 23:19, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohsen Milani

Hi Gene93k,

Rather than updating notices for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohsen Milani, you can actually close it, since the nominator has withdrawn it. Thanks! X4n6 (talk) 21:25, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Not a problem and thanks again. Cheers! X4n6 (talk) 06:32, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

Requested to review newly added references for page Little Joe McLerran

Dear Gene93k,

I notice you support the deletion of the page Little Joe McLerran. I have added several references from the Tulsa World daily newspaper, the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame website, the Tulsa People monthly magazine and several others that support Little Joe's contribution to Blues Music in Oklahoma, in the USA and around the world. I feel if you look more closely you will agree that Little Joe McLerran deserves an article in Wikipedia. Although I am an avid user and supporter of Wikipedia, this my first attempt at being a contributor. I feel I have come a long way so far in building the page. I hope you will take another look at the page and change your mind.

Best regard,Robmclerran (talk) 14:58, 25 April 2017 (UTC)Robmclerran

Query regarding adding AfD entries onto discussion lists

Hi Gene93k, I have a query regarding an AfD (Lorenzo Chiesa). You included the debate on a couple of additional lists (rightly so). In one case - the list of Philosophy-related deletion discussions -comments made are not visible and I am not able to understand why or what needs doing to make them visible? They can be seen on all other discussion lists as well as the main / generic AfD page. Are you able to clarify why and what needs doing? Apologies if there is an obvious answer - maybe you can just point me in the right direction? Many thanks! Ananke83 (talk) 14:25, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Gene93k, I reached the same conclusion and have posted a shorter version of the same comment myself on the main page, so I don't think it is necessary - many thanks for your reply and offer of help!Ananke83 (talk) 10:52, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jerry Cuomo

I would like to draft a new article on Jerry Cuomo that addresses the concerns raised. Where can I find the source of the deleted article? Or can the article be restored, such that it can be worked? THANKS Cuomogs (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:42, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

  • @Cuomogs: You can contact the contact the administrator who closed the previous AfD as delete (Juliancolton) and ask him to restore the article to draft space. That said, you appear to be the subject or are closely related to him. It is a bad idea to create a Wikipedia article about yourself. Finally, please consider editors' comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jerry Cuomo. They considered the deleted article unsalvageable. • Gene93k (talk) 03:07, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Nomination of Chidera Okolie for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Chidera Okolie is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chidera Okolie (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 07:32, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Transport in Dominica

Regarding the Transport in Dominica article I've made. There's a Template:Old prod full in the talk page. Not sure what happened there before, but it is a real, sourced article now. I get the template automatically applies from the previous deletion. This is a brand new article, and the subject matter is part of a well established series, so is there a way it can be removed? ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ 02:53, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

  • @Leoberacai: The previous version of Transport in Dominica was deleted by PROD. The {{old prod full}} tag tell editors (especially administrators) the the PROD was disputed and the article should not prodded again. You've written a decent article but the talk page is also there to note the significant milestones in the page history. It is not a reflection on the page in its present state. • Gene93k (talk) 03:31, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
Alright, then. Thanks! ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ৳€Ø฿€ƦȺ₡Ⱥƪ 04:26, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

Question

Hi, Gene93k - Is your notice a BOT or other form of auto notification? How do we get Wikipedia:WikiProject_Women_in_Red and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Women on the list for deletion notifications when it's a woman-related article at AfD? Thanks in advance...Atsme📞📧 02:10, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

  • @Atsme: The deletion sorting, like the edit in question, is done by human editors. Elizabeth Esther is a special case, as the debate was reopened a day after it was closed. The archive bot took down the listings when the debate was closed. I just restored those deletion sorts, including the Women category. A bot detected the reopened debate for the WikiProject Women article alert. • Gene93k (talk) 20:33, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

Talk:2017 Weis Markets shooting

I'm a total novice at this Wikipedia thing but wanted to thank you for attempting to save this page. I do not agree that is should be deleted. It is historically relevant for many reasons and I'm afraid the proposal for deletion is being suggested due to cultural influences. Though an uncomfortable topic, the history of what occurred in Pennsylvania contributes to an overall picture of these type of events, a picture that might in some way work towards combatting them. I'm totally unfamiliar with the system but wanted to encourage you. I know my edit may not have been the best but the intent was to provide further recognition to the victims. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to me. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fandangoforever (talkcontribs) 18:45, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Gripe, groan, grouch, grouse and grumble

No Wikipedian's user page deserves to be such an organised, barnstar-ry model of cooperative goodwill, so I've come here to grumble. I'll think of a good reason later OK? [FBDB] Pincrete (talk) 18:36, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Reinstate Jesselynn Desmond page

It is a known fact that Jesselynn Desmond is a celebrity. She is the same person that you weren't sure was her in the newspaper for being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for being the loudest fan. In a google search with her name JESSELYNN DESMOND you will find she comes up in every single listing in the first 17 pages. There is no denying she needs her own page. She is in newspapers all around the world. Here are 24 pages that contribute to her bio and what she has done. France recognizes her as needing her own page as well: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] She is in newspapers and magazines all around the world: People Magazine, Irish Independent, Electric Pictures, Electric Ticket: [7] She is an actress in 23 films and many TV shows: Flavor of Love [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] She is a music video director: [15] [16] She toured Europe performing with Emily Autumn: [17] She is a founding member of Lucent Dossier: [18] [19] Rotten TOmatoes: [20] She is a singer [21] and community leader She is a psychic: [22] She is a teacher: [23] She is a stand-up comedian: [24] She produces live shows all around the world: [25]

Thank you so much! MissAbundance (talk) 05:36, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

References

  • @MissAbundance: Please see the Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources guideline. The French Wikipedia has different inclusion standards from the English Wikipedia. The references you supplied fall under a) unreliable tabloids, b) self-published or c) trivial mentions. They do not satisfy the requirements for significant coverage by reliable published sources independent of the subject. I did not vote in the 2011 deletion debate, but the delete consensus still seems to be a correct one. • Gene93k (talk) 12:04, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

A quick favour, please

On 16 July 2010, the page on Rab Corbett was deleted, see here. Part of this page was a transcript of a phone call. Is it possible for you to put this transcript on my talk page? It took me a while to add it to the page and I'd like to get it back. I'm not going to start the page again, I'd just like the words back. (I've asked this of the deleter Cirt, but (s)he's no longer active.) Thanks. --ML5 (talk) 18:27, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Listing AfDs on WikiProject Canada Deletion talks

Hello Gene93k - I see you've applied AfD tags to a number of articles recently, and that you've been dutifully adding the new AfD discussions to Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Canada. Unfortunately, the new AfDs have appeared in the wrong section of the list - they've appeared under "Canada proposed deletions", but new AfDs are to be listed just above that heading. I've moved the AfD listings to the correct section.

You're not alone with this - at least one other user has been doing the same thing, and they informed me that the new AfDs are being added by a tool she's using for delsorting. Is this the same situation with you? If so, what tool are you using?

Happy new year! PKT(alk) 14:15, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

  • @PKT: Thanks for notice. Many editors use automated scripts for deletion sorting. Somebody moved a comment used by the sorting scripts to the proposed deletion section. I just moved it back. Thanks again. • Gene93k (talk) 14:42, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
