Media Balance
I'm sorry if this is sound offensive, but there has been an AFD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Media_balance) in favor of a redirection, and I've been trying to implement that redirect. This page does not supposed to still exist, that's why I did that redirect. This page still exist after 2 years, despite an AFD that says it should be redirected. There is already a page that deals with "media balance" (Objectivity (journalism)), for crying out loud, please let this redirect stay.--SilentScope001 (talk) 17:51, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- Is the content exactly the same? If not, you need to contact an administrator to do a history merge. That is why I reverted it.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 17:56, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- The content is not the same, but I don't think it's entirely necessary to save. in any event, it's a redirect, so the history itself is still accessible. But if you want a history merge, can't I just request that merge after the redirection?--SilentScope001 (talk) 17:59, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- Strictly speaking, yes. But it's best just to merge it when it's the full article.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 18:01, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'll do a redirection to Objectivity (journalism) in the meantime, because I think it's long overdue for that, but I would also request the proper procedure for requesting an administration history merge so that this could be done as well. I don't know how long that procedure will take.--SilentScope001 (talk) 18:04, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- Less than a day, I should imagine.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 18:08, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- I made my request. Once the history is merged, I'll attempt another redirect and hope it doesn't get reverted.--SilentScope001 (talk) 18:39, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

The history-merge was rejected, due to the different pages having different histories...so now what? According to the policy cited: "An appropriate procedure for such a case is to forego the history merge, and instead handle the situation much like a normal merge; put a note pointing to the other version of the page on the article's talk page. If it is inappropriate to leave the second copy in the main article space, you can archive the duplicate page to Talk: space (i.e. by moving it to some suitable title, such as Talk:RandomArticle/OldVersion)." Should I just do that?--SilentScope001 (talk) 00:23, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 21:02, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

GA review
Quite happy to do tit for tat reviews. Can you review Hilston Park for me, there's not an awful lot on it and its appear to be pretty comprehensive and a decent overview.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:54, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Church of St Helen, Treeton
On 11 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Church of St Helen, Treeton, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that when three men wearing gloves, masks and balaclavas were found on the roof of a church (pictured) missing £100,000 worth of lead, they were let off because police said they "might be there just for the view"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Church of St Helen, Treeton. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

For sterling efforts in promoting awareness of use of ecclesiastical buildings as vantage points for observation of pretty countryside, and helping improve coverage of everyone's favourite Transylvanian Count. (I had thought I was fed up with too many DYKs about church buildings, but you've helped add some more variety.) --Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:48, 11 June 2012 (UTC) |

From the Editor
Ichthus is one of the ways that the WikiProject Christianity’s Outreach department helps update our members. We have recently added some new sections to the newsletter. Please let us know what you think of the new departments, and if there are any other suggestions for departments you would like to see. And if you have anything you would personally like to add, by all means let us know. The talk page of the current issue is probably the best place to post such comments.
With that, I wish you all happy reading!

Vote for the project mascot
We had last month asked our members to help "bring into the fold" Wikipe-tan as the project's mascot. Voting will take place this month for which image we should adopt at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Outreach/Wikipe-tan. Please take a moment to review the images and vote for whichever is your favorite, or, if you so prefer, suggest an additional one.

Wikimedia Foundation report
Wikisource currently has many old texts available, most of them in the public domain. This is a potentially very valuable source for several things, including for instance links to Biblical verses, because we know that it will, basically, be around as long as we are.

Spotlight
A new WikiProject relating directly to Christian history is being developed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian history. Also, a group specifically devoted to the Mennonites and other Anabaptists is now up and running at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Anabaptist work group. Anyone interested in assisting with the development of these groups and topics is more than welcome to do so.

I believe
... in the statements contained in the Nicene Creed. I believe that the Bible is one of the two defining bases for belief. The other is the Sacred tradition, which provides us with means of interpreting the Scriptures, as well as some teachings which have been handed on by God outside of the scriptures. I believe that the Magisterium has been empowered to fill this interpretative function. I believe that clerical celibacy is a rule that should generally be followed. I am a member of the Catholic Church.

Please carefully read material before reverting "unexplained removal of content"
The article Surfer Blood was brought to my attention because of edit warring and serious violations of the BLP policy. On reviewing the history, blocking the mass of sockpuppets, and reverting the clear BLP violation, I note that twice in the last 24 hours you reverted the removal of this same BLP violation. Please, please read what you are reinserting into an article before you revert; this is what *you* inserted into the article, and "RC Patrol" doesn't make you any less responsible for that edit. I've just blocked a pile of sockpuppets for making that same edit. Because I'm certain you're a good faith editor just trying to help out, you're just getting a warning. Please keep in mind, though, that you're not really helping when you reinsert BLP violations into articles. Risker (talk) 05:10, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
