The tag "{{prod}}" template to the article ArcSoft, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:ArcSoft. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mglitchname.gif)
editThanks for uploading Image:Mglitchname.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 23:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Happy Wikipedia Day!
editOn January 15, 2007, Wikipedia turned six-years-old. According to statistics, Wikipedia has around 1,500,000 articles and Wikipedians have made 104,000,000 edits. The millionth article was Jordanhill railway station, created on March 2, 2006.
Wikipedia has moved from an Alexa rank of 20 to a rank of 12 having already briefly visited rank 8 (current rank). Happy editing!
May I suggest
editFirst of all, so sorry to hear you can't use VP, it's quite the tool. :D
Now. May I suggest, you change the image for my vista UBx (which I would like to thank you for changing, and publishing.. I think..) so that the colors go: Orange, then green for the top, and blue, then yellow for the bottom? As that's the color for the windows logo, which I think you're trying to relate to.. and maybe improve the image in a couple other ways, and more people, will be even more happy, to have a Vista UBx on their page. editYour VandalProof Application
editDear Eugene2x,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that you only have 168 edits in the article namespace. You must have a minimum of 250 edits before you may submit an applicaiton. You're close, just a few more and I'd be happy to grant your application.. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof.
(Note: This is an old message, I already have more than 250 edits, for those who want to know)

9:30 Club
editI don't understand why you reverted the edits I made to the portions of the Great Moments in Time section. All I did was add an internal hyperlink to the Never Ending Tour and add three links to references. I was the original person who posted all the Bob Dylan material and I was just adding to, editing, and providing source material to my own entry. I changed it back again after you reverted it, so I hope you keep it the way I left it this time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.53.13.163 (talk) 05:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC).
Please explain what links are considered spam. I added a concert review from the Washington Post and two other links to concert reviews from people who attended the concerts.
RE: 9:30 Club
editI have changed your reversion again, placing the external links inside the actual text now. Maybe now you can see them in context and understand how they each apply to the portion of the article I wrote. I don't mind taking them away if the links are inappropriate in any way, I just haven't heard an explanation regarding why any of them are considered spam. Instead of deleting them, please explain the reasons for your actions as to each link. It's taking me a long time to add what I consider valuable source material and then you just summarily erase all the work. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.53.13.163 (talk) 06:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC).
RE: RE: 9:30 Club
editMkpumphrey has now incorporated my reference pages as hyperlinked text within the article I wrote. Once again, the links are not spam, they are concert reviews from people who attended 9:30 Club shows. Please refrain from meddling in our article now, it's getting nothing less than tedious. I was the original writer, I'm only providing additional reference sources and hyperlinks to relevant topics related to what I had already written. I don't even understand how you have any interest or standing to make changes to our article, so please stop undoing our work unless you have read the material and can state valid reasons as to why it is not appropriate. You have yet to explain why you are classifying these links as spam. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.53.13.163 (talk) 17:24, 3 March 2007 (UTC).
"vandalism"
editWith regards to my edits on Kate Kelly I was simply making the content more encyclopedic. "Making a pass" should probably be considered a slang term. What was it about my edit that you found offensive? I'll wait three days before reverting it again. Flage 07:26, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
External links
editWith what part of the External links guidelines am I out of conformance? As per "What should be linked," I linked to concert reviews, the fourth item specifically enumerated under the guidelines. All the reviews not only discuss the Bob Dylan concerts, but also give details discriptions and accounts of the atmosphere inside the 9:30 Club, an invaluable resource for anyone seeking information and research about the club. I don't see how any of the "Links normally to be avoided" items apply. No advertising or conflicts of interest are involved. The sites I linked to do not require registration, link to foreign-language links or link to redirection sites. The reviews are objective and do not provide undue weight to any particular point of view. The links have been available for years and are not expected to expire any time soon. They are not dead links or hijacked sites. Once again, you have provided me with no information to help me address your concerns. Please tell me what guideline you feel is being violated and help me understand what part of my links are not in conformity. I would be happy to remove them if you just explained how they violate any Manuel of Style guideline. 71.139.157.201 15:47, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Persephone edit
editIn regards to the Persephone article, I was simply trying to make the number of seeds agree with the number of winter months. I do realize that the number of seeds and months can vary depending on the story. However it should be clear in the article that the number of seeds eaten should be equal to the number of winter months. I have done some more research and will now change the number of seeds to four according to wikipedia's own article on the pomegranate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.189.13.186 (talk • contribs)
Hiya Eugene. You are right in your assumption that I have not read (the US version of) PC World, nor have I visited the site. All I said in my original edit summary was that a citation would be needed, especially for something that (if untrue) would be quite a negative thing to have on Wikipedia. I remember once before there has been quite a storm about someone's death being added to Wikipedia, even though it was reverted. I was just being cautious, that's all. :) --Dreaded Walrus 04:51, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Carwash fosters.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Carwash fosters.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. I need your help
editOn the DragonBall wikia, I created some templates there such as a Template:Message box and have been trying to properly create a [[1]] exactly like User:1ne/Title created one here on this Wikipedia. I could really, really use your help, man. We don't have any administrators there to help out at this stuff and a friend of mine there couldn't find anyone also. See, I just want it created obviously so I can hide the "User:" in my username there. I don't plan to edit this Wikipedia with the username I'm talking to you with now, as it was only made to conceal my IP address; I'm more desparately needed to help out there. So, if you could help, that would be great! Also, I tried creating Template:Tracking category and Template:Interwiki there also, as I thought it was the case. Perhaps it isn't and was a mistake of mine to make them (I'm still an amateur at this template stuff ;[) So, whenever possible, may you please respond to my account there only or just fix those templates and let me know? Better yet, we could sure use other templates made there, but you don't have to do all of 'em (hint: I'm the "burdock man" who created the pages) Thanks! I'm anonymous

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Campmac fosters.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Campmac fosters.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.

Fair use rationale for Image:Sblogo.png
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sblogo.png. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

editThis is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Arcsoftlogo.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:32, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner.
