A bit of courtesy wouldn't hurt

It think the way you spoke towards me on the talk section of the Punk rock article could have been kinder. In no way was I trying to be contentious or out of line in any kind of way--I've gone the extra mile to avoid controversy there for the last few years and intend to remain as non-controversial as possible. In this instance I was only suggesting a slight change in wording, that I felt was a reasoned request, and I kept my comments brief. People have a right to go to the talk page about issues--it is constructive. In no way were you obliged to agree with my suggestion--but you could have lodged your disagreements in a better way. Contrast your response there with Ghmyrtle's. He disagreed--but in a courteous and respectful manner and gave a rationale which I could respect (and I do recognize and respect your work--I just don't like the way you have spoken to me on a couple of occasions). Normally, I wouldn't mind an editor responding in a brusque manner--I've seen instances of people being much more extreme. But, as an administrator, I hold you to a higher standard and expect better from you than that. I think that you have a responsibility to fair and objective--and supportive to to other editors in your capacity. And, I think that if you look at my work over the last few years, you would find a lot there to like--and would see that there is a lot more to what I'm about here than what you might have assumed based on when I was a brand new editor. In the last year I have been working on a large expansion of the garage rock article and pushed it up to GA in November--my hope is that we can get it up to FA in the next year or so. I've been working on an expansion of the Wrecking Crew article, the Democratic party article, and others. I've worked on numerous projects and written over 100 articles, I think I have a good track record for accuracy and credibility in my contributions, so I think I have a right to get better treatment from an administrator. I say this in a spirit of good will and could only wish you the best in saying this. Garagepunk66 (talk) 02:36, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

@Garagepunk66: I have been up to my eyeballs in irl work for the past week. I will have a longer response for you in a day or two, but you are right. I was coming from a place of frustration based on past conduct. I will try to not do this in the future. --Guerillero | Parlez Moi 02:59, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
Oh, no problem at all. I'll be the first to admit that I was a bit headstrong when I first arrived at Wiki--I hope that I have "mellowed" out a bit. By the way, I really appreciate all of the great things you do here at Wikipedia. Best of luck! Garagepunk66 (talk) 03:21, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
