@Lee Wooyeon Your translations are a good start but they are not finished. Please ensure that you translate all content - there are still untranslated parts, including most references. Please format the references so that they have all metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Korean).
For articles that exist on English but not Korean Wikipedia, please use ko:틀:임시링크 .
Also, please revisit our module on communicating on Wikipedia. You should leave your messages at the bottom of the talk page, and you should sign them properly. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:07, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Wjyy1212 @Wsw1357 The translation topic about Chinese car plates from Chinese to English is approved. Regarding your other topic I am not sure I fully understand it - I'd recommend you instead chose to translate a topic from my list here from English to Chinese: User:Piotrus/Ideas for students . If you are interested in motorization, how about History of steam road vehicles ? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 07:28, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Wjyy1212 Very good job with the pictures. For your images, can you add the description in English? You should also add categories (they are like tags). See Commons:Categories .
For example, your first picture should probably be somewhere under the category Category:Food products of China - Wikimedia Commons

This is my sandbox link, which contains the content I translated. The description and classification of the picture is a little difficult for me, because it has been uploaded. If you want to change it, you need to use coding. I am not very good at using it. I’m sorry, Professor. Wjyy1212 (talk) 14:14, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Wjyy1212 This is a good start, but please use tools like Grammarly to improve your grammar; many sentences are hard to understand. Next, work on adding blue links (hyperlinks) and correctly formatted references, as well as importing images. If there are any code issues, talk to me during class or office hours, and I'll help you solve the problems. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:23, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, I didn't have time to visit you in the office on Friday because of the exam. I have slightly modified the translation. Do you have any questions? The translation is in my sandbox. Wjyy1212 (talk) 07:05, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Wjyy1212 You are making good progress. Remember that all content added should be referenced, otherwise it can be removed form Wikipedia and will not count for course grade. You can publish your work (WP:MOVE it to the mainspace) anytime.
After moving it, please add categories (see bottom of the original Chinese articles for Chinese categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the Chinese article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:26, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I modified it as you said. Do you think there are any other problems? Wjyy1212 (talk) 02:44, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Wjyy1212 Regarding your English translation about Chinese vehicle plates, there are two problems to fix in this round of the review:
1) Your categories are incorrect (red). Please try to identify working (blue) categories.
2) Some links you added are to Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages like Wuwei - which Wuwei did you mean?
To identify and fix the problem, go to your Preferences and activate the gadget called "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange". After you save your preferences and refresh (reload) your article, the wrong links will be in orange. Please fix them, then you can publish (move) your page.

Hi professor, I'm a student in your class "Everyday Life and Social Structure". I edited and added references in here. please check. I used a citation template and make my reference have a title, author, publisher, date of publication and translated title. Kimseoeun2023079825 (talk) 15:17, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kimseoeun2023079825 Your reference is good, but in your edit why did you chance "Haemaro" to "Haimarrow "? This seems like an error - please restore the original spelling unless you can explain to me why your version is better. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:10, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Umm.. actually it’s not an error. I edited because the company’s official spelling is Haimarrow. Not the Haemaro. You can see here. Also, when you search haemaro in google, you cannot see the company that take over mom’s touch. When you search haimarrow, you can find the official site. Haimarrow and Haemaro, both can read “해마로“, its not a problem in korean, but i think it have to be more correct in enlglish wikipedia.(because it is a korea company, enlgish users can have a problem when they search it.) 210.98.151.244 (talk) 16:09, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Professor!I am a student in both the Collective Intelligence in Practice and Introduction to Information Sociology courses.I have already started my translation work, I translated the first paragraph before it could be quoted and inserted, if there is any grammar problem, please give me your opinion, I will change it in time, thank you! Hkiho (talk) 14:59, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Hkiho This is a good start and the grammar is fine. However, as it happens, another of our students has translated this very article without discussing this with me - I assume this was done for extra credit although I have not heard from them yet. See User:Muqing112233/Handan Junior High School Student Kills a Student . As such, while you have successfully completed all assignments so far, and I will credit your work as well, I recommend that you change your topic. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 11:24, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello professor, as you said, this student translated without approval, but I have already completed most of the translations. I don't want to make me choose other articles because of her mistake, other Chinese articles that meet the requirements are difficult to find, but in order to be fair, I will not plagiarize her article, so I choose to find a new article. Because the time to re-translate the new article is urgent, if there is any mistake, please help me correct it. I wish you a good day! Hkiho (talk) 17:14, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho
The topic is ok, but right now your draft is not close to the standards that are required for publication on English Wikipedia. It is primarily a plot summary with no information about the importance of the work; it is also not referenced. Remember that content added to English Wikipedia (and credited for our course) has to be referenced (as I mentioned above). For articles about movies or other works of arts, we need to provide information about awards and reception. Please see formatting and sections at Meteor Shower (TV series) or other entries in (for example) Category:2009 Chinese television series debuts, paying special attention to section(s) on "Reception".
Please also review Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Film, with special attention to "Critical reception" and the policy on importance (Wikipedia:Notability (films)) - right now nothing in your draft suggest the chosen production is important enough to warrant an entry in Wikipedia (for that, you need to include the said section on Reception, with reviews by reliable critics - in newspapers, magazines, or such, not social media)
Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:57, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, can I meet the final requirements of the article now, because the previous article others choose, I can change the topic to meet the requirements of the article very few, I hope you can tell me what else to do, thank you very much for your reply Hkiho (talk) 01:59, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho I am afraid I do not understand your question. Just above I told you what you need to do to bring your work up to acceptable quality. If anything I wrote is unclear, please let me know here or you can come to my office hours or talk to me after our class. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:30, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, thank you for helping me in class, I'm looking for a new topic now, I'll finish it as soon as possible this week if I can, thank you! Hkiho (talk) 14:02, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho I discourage translating articles about seasons of TV shows, as it is hard to show their Wikipedia:Notability and they may be deleted. Instead, try to expand Joy of Life (TV series) with information on reviews and reception, or translate information about another show (but not a season of the show). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:59, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your reply professor, so I decided not to focus on TV series anymore, this is my new article should meet the requirements, if possible, I will finish as soon as possible, thank you for your reply, wish you have a nice day! Hkiho (talk) 02:47, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, I have completed my latest translation assignment and will upload it pending your approval." Hkiho (talk) 16:25, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho This is an interesting topic. I have moved it to a better title. Here are items you need to fix:
  • please review the grammar and vocabulary with a tool like Grammarly. Some concepts are not translated properly' for example, you use the term Demonization but I am pretty sure you mean Discrimination
  • If a topic exists in Chinese but not English, please link it using this tool: Template:Interlanguage link
  • Your article needs a proper lead (summary) at the top. You can try to create one by asking an AI tool like ChatGPT to summarize your article - but please proofread the outcome and ensure it has no errors (hallucinations)
  • Please format the references so that they have all metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Chinese).
  • please add categories (see bottom of the original Chinese articles for Chinese categories and try to add similar one to your article)
  • Please ensure all content is referenced. I see several sentences (half-paragraphs, etc. that do not have references.
Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 08:17, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks to the professor's guidance, I corrected a lot of grammatical errors and corrected them according to your requirements, if it passes, I will upload it as required, thank you for your reply! Hkiho (talk) 14:48, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho Good progress. For Xinyang Incident, please add a link using the Template:Interlanguage link. Ditto for 黄泛区, 苏北, 王士性 and 炒作 (double check first if they don't have English article, I fixed one link for you - 中国大陆 has an English Wikipedia article (Mainland China).
You also moved the article back to the previous title, despite my note above that I have moved it to a better title. Please move it to the title I used unless you have a good reason no to?
You should also add more blue links and double check the terminology. For example, Anti-Japanese War should be linked but in English it is usually known as "Second Sino-Japanese War", hence the article location at that title (Second Sino-Japanese War). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:05, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you professor for your opinion, I have revised the title, as well as the use of a lot of technical terms, and added a lot of blue links, but now the only problem is that there is no English article about the Xinyang incident, I tried to use Template:Interlanguage link.I would appreciate it if you could help! Thanks for your reply and I wish youEnjoyable day Hkiho (talk) 06:31, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Hkiho Well done. For extra credit, now that your wiki skills have improved, you could consider finishing your old work from last year (still available in the history of your sandbox here).
Additionally, looking at my notes, I see you / your group where also supposed to translate the article Russian fashion from English to Chinese and zh:邯郸初中生杀人案 to English. Are you still working on those projects? What is their status? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:40, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello professor, about zh: Handan junior high school student murder to English this topic was written by other students before, you asked me to change the topic may you forgot, it is in the dialogue above. I have been unable to contact my team member, so I can only try my best to complete my own task. Thanks to the professor's affirmation, I learned a lot of skills in using Wikipedia in this class! Although there are many shortcomings, I will continue to work hard! I hope I can take your class again next time!! Hkiho (talk) 16:50, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hkiho Thank you for the reminder. It seems that the other student has abandoned their draft about 邯郸初中生杀人案, so if you would like, you can finish it yourself (using the draft at User:Muqing112233/Handan Junior High School Student Kills a Student) for extra credit.

HI, Professor.I am a student in the Introduction to Collective Intelligence Practices and the Sociology of Information course.I have started to make translation homework Please check it.Thank you! Redyeoni (talk) 15:08, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Redyeoni It is a good start. But your sandbox is on English Wikipedia. You should copy it to Chinese Wikipedia - the code on English is not the same as on Chinese one. The sooner you start working in Chinese Wikipedia, the better. I will provide more feedback after you copy your article there. You'll likely need to redo all the hyperlinks after the move Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 11:28, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello professor Good evening, this is my translation homework has been completed Please check Thank you! Redyeoni (talk) 10:12, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Redyeoni This is a good start, which you should have completed over a month ago. You need to move it to Chinese Wikipedia, fix errors resulting from interwiki move, then publish it. After moving it, please add categories (see bottom of the original English articles for English categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the English article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list). Remember to proofread your translations to eliminate any machine translation errors, for example. Poor translation can lead to your articles being deleted and that would negatively impact your grade, so please make sure to proofread them carefully before publication.
You will need to complete much extra credit work in addition to raise your grade to satisfactory levels, since you have not carried out most of the other assignments and missed most deadlines for the main one. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 10:23, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your article is missing blue links to other Wikipedia articles (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking). If a topic exists in Chinese but not English, please link it using this tool: Template:Interlanguage link.
Your article needs references; only referenced content is allowed on Wikipedia (and counts for class credit). See WP:V and our corresponding class module. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:47, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@장로아 You are making progress, but please use a proper infobox template. Look at the infoboxes used in other similar articles (ex. Zhou Shen), and copy one of them and add it to your article, then modify accordingly.
After that, focus on adding references (and ensure they have the correct metadata - author, date, publisher, and title; if the source is Chinese the title should be both in Chinese and English). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 09:02, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@장로아 Good, but there are still many issues to fix. Some are the ones I mentioned before - For links to Chinese articles like "The Coming One 2 please use tool: Template:Interlanguage link. Some link to articles that do not even seem to exist on zh wiki like 见面吧!电台 .
Also, please add Chinese name of that person to your lead and infobox - again, compare your article with Zhou Shen "Zhou Shen (Chinese: 周深; pinyin: Zhōu Shēn; born 29 September 1992), also known as"
Your three references do not have correct metadata, and the biggest problem still remains - most of your article is still unreferenced. In order for you to be able to publish your article and complete the assignment, all the content needs to be referenced to reliable sources (see Wikipedia:Verifiability); as mentioned in our syllabus, only referenced content counts for our assignment. @Liangyiqiao2004 Good progress. Regarding your Chinese article, you can now publish (WP:MOVE) your article. After that, please add WP:CATEGORIES: and link your article to the English one with the tool explained here Help:Interlanguage links. After that, you should monitor your article to check for any feedback from Chinese reviewers over the next few weeks.
Regarding your English article, it needs much more work. Much of it is is unreferenced (see (WP:V and recall that only referenced content is allowed on Wikipedia and counts for our class credit). Next, your article needs throughout proofreading as right now it contains numerous grammar and vocabulary errors that make reading and understanding it very difficult. I am afraid that almost every sentence has errors or is written in unencyclopedic style (see Wikipedia:Writing_better_articles#Use_of_pronouns). Please have your article reviewed by someone who is fluent in English; you can also try to use tools like Grammarly but I am afraid the amount of errors I see will make any automatic tool struggle with fixing this.
Also, please let me know when you have asked for and gotten permission to translate this topic from Chinese in English? I cannot locate it in my records. (The topic is probably fine, but I need to know the name of the Chinese article you are translating to offer you more feedback and to ensure you have chosen a topic that is not already covered in English; like Siheyuan, which already is, and has some coverage under Siheyuan#Layout_of_Beijing_siheyuan) Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:18, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Week15(YANGPEIFU)

edit

Hello, professor.

I'm Yang Peifu, taking classes on 'Understanding Wikipedia' and 'Everyday Life and Social Structure'.

I have 10 edits per week, Please check it. Thank you!

Eggy Party and Taiwan Daily News are Wikipedia articles for increasing the score of Introduction to Sociology. Liu Shuqin, Zhang Wenhuan, Draft: Wang Baiyuan, Xie Lifa, and Wu Kunhuang are articles that need to be completed and increase the score of Collective Intelligence in Practice: Understanding Wikipedia. Please check them out. Thank you! Yangpeifu (talk) 12:23, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Yangpeifu Well done. Here are the fixes needed:
  • in Eggy Party, please format the references so that they have all metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Chinese). If you don't know how to do this, ask me in class or during office hours
  • in Taiwan Daily News, please add categories (look at Chinese article and its categories, then try to add similar categories to your English translation), and format references with metedata.
  • in Liu Shuqin, format references with metedata. That article can also use more blue links, for example to Tsinghua University. See what other terms can be linked and link them. For articles that exist in Chinese but not English use Template:Interlanguage link.
  • Zhang Wenhuan needs categories and metadata fixing in references
  • Wang Baiyuan can be moved to mainspace after you add categories (most references there are well formatted already with metadata). After publishing it (moving it), please link it to the Chinese article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list).
  • Xie Lifa needs reference metadata improvements. It has also been tagged as a Wikipedia:Orphan - can you resolve this by linking to this article from other articles? See links to Chinese article for ideas here Link to the page of "Sheriffa" - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Please add links to your other articles in the same fashion (see how they are linked to in Chinese then try to add links from existing English articles)
  • Wu Kunhuang needs ref metadata, and addressing the orphan issue
Overall, you are doing a very good job! Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:52, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dear Professor,
I have been completing the above tasks these days, and I added "Guo Qiusen"'s article to solve the orphan article of "Liu Shuqin". I have moved "Wang Baiyuan"'s article and the cross-language links of the above articles. Please check, thank you!
My blog1 and blog2 assignments are also all completed, And commented on classmates' blogs more than a dozen times, please check, thank you, professor! Yangpeifu (talk) 06:59, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Yangpeifu Well done. Wang Baiyuan needs WP:CATEGORIES (see original Chinese articles or categories in Guo Qiusen for ideas). Well done expanding Guo Qiusen, it will count for extra credit. Please double check the references you added there - they may need metadata fixing (title, author, date, etc.). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 08:14, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, professor. We are students in everyday life and social structure.

We have made revisions to the editing of the English article. There has been no feedback received regarding the editing of the Chinese article. Please review, thank you! Han77720 (talk) 11:05, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Han77720 Good, you are almost finished. Some links you added are to Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages like Bells - you probably wanted to link to Bell.
To identify and fix the problem, go to your Preferences and activate the gadget called "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange". After you save your preferences and refresh (reload) your article, the wrong links will be in orange. Please fix them, then you can publish (move) your page.
After moving it, please add categories (see bottom of the original Chinese articles for Chinese categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the Chinese article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list).
Regarding your Chinese article, you can publish it as well, following the same advice as I gave you above. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:50, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Han77720 Good, but please try to address the Orphan issue I mentioned above. If you do not know what it means, read the linked article explaining this in detail (in short, it means you need to indentify other articles on English Wikipedia that should mention yours and link it from them). Good luck! Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:00, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good, you are almost finished.

@Yue03090616 I see. Your article has one major problem - compared to the Chinese article, it has more references, but most of them seem to be fake / garbage such as links to irrelevant pages. Please remove all fake references from your article immediately, and ensure that the remaining references are properly formatted with metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Chinese). @Yue03090616 Your English article still contains many fake/wrong references, likely a result of using a malfunctioning AI tool. Please remove ALL references from it, then add references from Chinese Wikipedia. Otherwise your English article will be deleted from English Wikipedia shortly, as it is not only effectively unreferenced, but it has fake/wrong references. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:43, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your Chinese article was published correctly. Please monitor it over the next few days to check for reviews from Chinese editors. Remember to proofread it to avoid errors introduced by machine translation - if the quality of the translation is too poor, the article may be deleted, which would cause the assignment to fail. Good evening, Professor. Thank you very much for your help. I have revised the article, please check it. Hanyuanyuan613 (talk) 10:04, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hanyuanyuan613 You need to add references to the parts that do not have them. All I see is minor rewording that still results in parts of the article being unreferenced. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:03, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Good evening, professor. I don't know how to add citations to some Chinese abbreviations, such as "dragon through flowers"(龙穿花). So I changed it to a description of the meaning of the word. And the sentence "exudes a unique charm" means that the iron flower has unique characteristics, which are displayed in front of the audience. How should I add citations to this sentence? Hanyuanyuan613 (talk) 16:44, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hanyuanyuan613 You should check which of your existing sources confirms those facts, such as says that the iron flowe has unique characteristics, and add it to the relevant sentence. If none of your current sources contain that assertion, you need to find a new source to add or remove that sentence as unverifiable. See also Wikipedia:Verifiability Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:51, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have made appropriate modifications and added some citations. Please check it, professor. Hanyuanyuan613 (talk) 11:19, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello professor. I am a student of daily life and social structure. My academic number is 2023025414.This is my Wikipedia assignment.I'd like to ask you how to insert English pictures, but the pictures can't be inserted. And there's something else to add. Please check, thank you!https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Wsw1357/%E6%B2%99%E7%9B%92 Wsw1357 (talk) 05:38, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Wsw1357 To use a picture, click "add image" on Chinese Wikipedia and add the picture name, or copy the code from "use this picture" option from the image page. You should be able to use File:Censorship of Tik Tok.svg and File:Banning of TikTok on state devices in the United States.svg on Chinese Wikipedia without any problems, although you may have to ask Chinese experienced editors on how to copy the advanced caption (legend) code from English - I recommend doing so here: at zh:维基百科:Discord交流群
After that, you can publish (move) your article. After moving (publishing) your article, please add categories (see bottom of the original English articles for English categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the English article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list). Hello professor.I have successfully inserted this photo through your explanation. But for the last link, I don't have this option because I implemented the wrong upload a few weeks ago and the administrator has restricted my permissions on this. Can you delete this permission?Or maybe there are ways to solve it. 211.36.149.43 (talk) 05:38, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just driving by because this edit triggered the edit filter, which I am patrolling, but you seem to be logged out, which is uncommon for a student editor. Maybe fix that? Also IP editors can't upload images if I'm correct. Anyways, I'm sure that if an image is protected from being uploaded, I'm sure people with appropriate permissions can do it. Also a drive by note that I've modified the archiving interval for this page since it's getting too laggy to patrol. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 05:50, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@AlphaBetaGamma Student forgetting to log in - not as uncommon as you think :P Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:58, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well I've encountered problematic student edits before, but they're more uncommon than you think, as much as an IP forgetting to log in during a discussion and causing a patroller to revert the comment because they thought a completely different person was replying. I had to get an administrator to protect an article from being made to prevent 4th recreation of CSD-worthy mess once, but that was about it. By the way, I've modified the archive date to 14d for the convenience of other people and myself as the page was getting too heavy, but I hope you don't mind. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 06:05, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh well. Anyways, @Wsw1357, I'm going to intervene but only autoconfirmed users can upload messages in Wikipedia and you have 9 edits to both ZH and EN versions, which regrettably is not enough for the status. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 06:10, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@AlphaBetaGamma Sure. I was trying to keep more content here on the off chance some students would read it and learn from my comments to others, but, a, I've never seen any indication this happens, and b, yeah, this page is too big and I am having trouble loading it myself, so - good call. Cheers, Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 11:42, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Wsw1357 You will need to publish (move) your article before you can link it to the English article. Please publish it first, then link it. Hopefully this will fix the issue you are having. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 06:01, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hanyangprofessor2Professor, I don't have the option to move, which means I can't publish, I can only publish in my own sandbox.I tried but couldn't find a move option. If I can't publish it means I can't join the link, what should I do with the tasks I did earlier? Wsw1357 (talk) 06:47, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Professor. I am a student in the Everyday Life and Social Structure class. I would like to report my final progress: 1. I have successfully published my article. It has been rated as Start-Class articles. And the language link has been added. Please check. Although there are still some shortcomings. I will work hard with the Wikipedia administrator to revise it. Thank you for your valuable suggestions on this article.

2. I have also completed all the extra credit activities for the blog. Please check it.

3. I will edit some additional English Wikipedia. The main edited article is this. Please check it.

Thank you for your help this semester. Thank you very much. Professor, you have worked hard. Lihaochang678 (talk) 15:18, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Lihaochang678 Well done. Please note that several Chinese editors have reviewed your work and some have asked for additional fixes, you can see who they are here. I recommend you contact them on their talk pages and ask for detailed feedback.
Regarding your additions to the English article here, remember that all content added should be referenced, otherwise it can be removed form Wikipedia and will not count for course grade. Please add references to the content that is missing it to ensure your effort is not wasted. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:35, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK, professor, I understand. Thank you for your advice.
1. I have communicated with those administrators. I basically know where the problem is. We will work together to revise this article.
2. I will continue to add some references to the additional edited Wikipedia. And make appropriate changes.

Hello professor, these are my two article translations1HAHAHAHAHA_(Chinese_program) please check, my blog has also been completed. and This is my next edit from Wikipedia, please check itThank you very much. 218.37.101.231 (talk) 02:55, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dear student @Linziyu1823. Remember to sign (Wikipedia:Signatures) your messages, otherwise you cannot be notified of my replies.
Your article (currently at HAHAHAHAHA (Chinese program)which is a bad title, due to wrong bracket and ambigious term in the parenthesis - it will be renamed shortly) has a number of problems.
First, you should have asked me whether this topic is a good one to translate - this is required in Deadline 2. I do not see that you have ever done so, and the article you have chosen is problematic. It does not appear to meet Wikipedia:Notability, because it lacks sections on awards (reviews) and reception (awards), which are used to demonstrate that the topic is important. You can rescue your article by adding such sections. For example of how this should look, see IPartment#Reception and Awards below, or much better Friends#Reception.
Please link your article to the Chinese article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list).
Please add Chinese name to the top of the article (see how it is done in iPartment).
Your article needs more blue links. Please compare it to the Chinese article and link all the important concepts (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking). If a topic exists in Chinese but not English, please link it using this tool: Template:Interlanguage link.
Please format the references so that they have all metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Chinese). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:55, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok Professor, there is a question do I need to re-translate an article or improve this one? In addition, is my other translation OK?Please check it Linziyu1823 (talk) 07:07, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, I also translated another article, but it has not been published yet. Could you please check it? Linziyu1823 (talk) 07:42, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello professor, the translations of my two articles are respectively
Czech Gothic architecture translated into Chinese 捷克建筑发展
中华文明五千年说into EnglishFive thousand years of Chinese civilization
Please check it again. Thank you。 Linziyu1823 (talk) 08:02, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Linziyu1823 Regarding HAHAHAHAHA (Chinese TV series) as I noted above, you need to show the importance of this topic by adding information on reviews and awards. Otherwise it will be deleted and will not count for much course credit. If you find such sources and add them to the article, please also say so at the relevant deletion discussion (a Wikipedia reviewer has already nominted that article for deletion due to lack of importance).
Regarding your other work. zh:捷克建筑发展 was deleted from Chinese Wikipedia by a Chinese reviewer @Manchiu who explained the issues in their deletion comment (red box). Please read them carefully and improve your draft there so that the issues raised (ex. poor translation) are fixed before publishing it again.
I see you have chosen another topic for translation, Five thousand years of Chinese civilization. It is an good topic (notable) and I don't think it will be deleted. However, it has a number of problems that need to be fixed (as the Chinese article is simply not finished). Please format the references so that they have all metadata: first and late name, date, publisher, title (in English as well as Chinese). Then you should add references to unrefenced paragraphs and sentences. The article is also pretty short. Please expand it using the following high quality sources: one, two. If you cannot access them, ask for help in our Hanyang ERICA library. You can also use Chinese sources such as the ones found here (link). At this point I recommend that you try to merge the parts of the article that are referenced and not plagiarized into Chinese clothing, and to try to earn extra credit by translating some article(s) from English to Chinese Wikipedia, as we are running out of time to do further research on your chosen topic. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:26, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, I have compared and blended the content of my article with Chinese clothing, check it out!
And edited 50 Wikipedia articles, check it out.
If I want to translate an article into Chinese, should I just find a random article or should I choose from the original topic? Bai0926 (talk) 06:28, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, I apologize for the many interruptions. But I would like to explain that I did not plagiarize others' content, my article and the Chinese clothing are not the same in terms of citing articles and content although they are both strung together with time development. You can compare and check. Bai0926 (talk) 08:34, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bai0926 Thank you for your explanation. Are you familiar with the page https://www.scielo.br/j/trans/a/T3zX3gNY7kR3bP8dmh7LTdr/ which according to the reviewers is the one some content was copied from?
Your contributions to Chinse clothing will be recognized as part of your main project, so your effort will not be wasted. As for translating content to Chinese, you can chose any content you want, although if you want some suggestions, how about this? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:12, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Professor, this pagehttps://www.scielo.br/j/trans/a/T3zX3gNY7kR3bP8dmh7LTdr/ which I linked to in the content of my article, has been removed by the Wikipedia administrators.
I checked the translation assignment, is the score for this assignment an extra score or is it a score for my big assignment? It seems a bit difficult to complete in a short period of time. Also I have completed 20 more Wikipedia edits please check.
Looking forward to your reply. Bai0926 (talk) 14:02, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bai0926 Your current score is very good (A), so you would only need to do a small extra credit translation to get to A+. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:03, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
A short, referenced article on “Dopamine,” or “New Chinese style” might be a good idea, for example (500-1000 words). Or you could chose something else you find is enjoyable. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 04:04, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Orange-1203 Regarding your Chinese article, it seems ready. You can publish (move) it. After moving (publishing) your article(s), please add categories (see bottom of the original English articles for English categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the English article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list)
But please keep in mind that if you are translating from English to Chinese for this assignment, you need to carry out TWO translations. Anarchism in Korea is one. What is your second one? If you have not chosen it yet, how about Anarchism in Poland? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:53, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

As the professor gave me the feedback, I changed the 'The Economist(이코노미스트)' to natural Korean after reviewing it to avoid machine translation. Regarding the 'Japanese beer(일본의 맥주)', I added my editing content to the original document and quoted it, and changed it to natural Korean sentence to avoid machine translation. Please check it. Wiki document editing task I translated 2 documents from English to Korean. 1. 1.

Originally, I tried to edit Korean translations on two topics: 1. The Wave of Democracy document and 2. The censorship document of Korean movies. 2. Someone else has already translated the censorship document of Korean movies into Korean, so I translated the document on "Latin America's History" as a Wikipedia-recommended editing document into Korean. I was going to visit the lab today Friday and talk to you in person, but I'm sorry to talk to you late because you didn't come today. If there's anything I need to change, please let me know Jeong dayean (talk) 08:10, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Jeong dayean Your changed topic is approved.
However, your translations have a number of errors. You need to add references in the form of footnotes to appopriate places. For articles that exist on English but not Korean Wikipedia, please use ko:틀:임시링크 to link articles from English Wikipedia. Remember to proofread your translations to eliminate any machine translation errors, for example - your articles have already been tagged as having translation problems. Please correct the issues promptly; poorly translated articles can be deleted and that would negatively affect our assignment.
Some content in your articles have been already fixed by the reviewers - please study the changes (1, 2) and learn from them for your future writing. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 05:34, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Professor

1. I discussed with the administrator. The administrator said that there are some unclear definitions in the English article itself. The administrator said: (The bigger problem is that the English version itself did not make it clear that when the media used the term "biohacker", they were referring to DIY biology in a broad sense or just body hacking in a narrow sense. In particular, the relevant reports of the Washington Post have a paywall, and it seems that it is impossible to verify without paying them a little money). So far, my translation has been completed. In terms of content, I will correct it with experts in this field based on the changes made in the English article.

2. My team member has also completed the translation. She sent it to you for inspection before. She also successfully published it. And completed the editing. Please check.

Hello professor, I have completed the editing task for Wikipedia and hope to receive an additional score. These are five Wikipedia articles that I have edited: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. This is the article that I corrected and marked as incorrect: 6 7. Please review, thank you very much. Jzhdylb (talk) 20:04, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Jzhdylb Good, you should have enough extra credit for A+. However, please double check whether content you added to subculture article has been added to the most relevant place. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 08:32, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deadline5 - Jeongha Ahn

edit

Hello professor. I'm Jeongha Ahn and I'm taking the Everyday Life and Social Structure class. I've finished editing deadline 5. I added a lot more content than what I edited on Deadline 4 and uploaded it supplemented. Please check it! Thank you. here Jeongha1 (talk) 12:25, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Jeongha1 You are now approaching the point your assignment should have reached in late April/early May. Remember the deadline to complete assignments is today. You have to finish translation, including adding blue links, properly formatted references and related media like images, and publish your work (see bottom of the English articles for English categories and try to add similar one to your article) and please link it to the English article (see how at Help:Interlanguage_links#Links_in_the_"Languages"_list). Remember to proofread your article, as content that is machine translated and not proofread will be quickly deleted from Korean Wikipedia, causing the assignment to fail. I also completed publishing my article at the very end of each wiki. 전진이 (talk) 03:24, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@전진이 I don't see your content merged to ko:문화전쟁 and ko:매체 편향 which you were supposed to expand?
You need to copy your content from your sandboxes and merge it (integrate it) with the existing articles on Korean Wikipedia. Be careful not to remove any existing good content. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:18, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, while you have enough credits now for a passing grade, the system indicate you have insufficient attendance to pass. If you retake this class with me, you can get extra credit for your work that you submitted yesterday. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:26, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
