Ways to improve Mimiks

edit

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Harut111, thanks for creating Mimiks!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add clear sources - for an article on a living person, they need to be clear and WP:INLINECITED.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Boleyn (talk) 20:18, 20 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

Please add your sources to theunreferenced articles you have created. I have contacted you several times about unreferenced articles, but here is a full list of the remaining concerns:

Against the Flow (Armenian TV series), Hayastan Jan (TV series), Secret Love (Armenian TV series), The Leaders (Armenian TV series), Im tiknikn es, Special section (Armenian TV series), Dangerous Games (Armenian TV series), The Last Father, In the City (TV series), Overview of Abroad (Armenian TV series), Marinka Khachatryan, Sona Shahgeldyan, Gevorg Martirosyan, Tnpesa, Sos Janibekyan, Garik Sephkhanyan, Abel's Sister, In the Army, Head of State (Armenian film), Kentron TV, Vendetta (Armenian TV series), Love Odd, Anne Bedian, Own Enemy, Towards Artsakh, With the Whole Family, Name that Tune (Armenian game show), Hovhannes Davtyan (actor), North-South, Hima kimana (Mihran Tsarukyan song), Mimiks, If Only (Armenian TV series), 3/OFF, Grigor Danielyan, Ani Yeranyan, [Raffi Barsoumian]], Raffi Barsoumian, Melite de Manziquerta, Ani Petrosyan and The Slave of Love.

Please also WP:INLINECITE sources on articles like Tiri, Artsakh. A huge number of articles you have created are not listed above, but are tagged for referencing or notability issues. You often use unreliable sources like imdb, which should not be used per WP:RELIABLESOURCES, as it can be edited by anyone. You also often have 'external links' but this just means 'suggestions for further reading' rather than what is necessary in an article, the sources used to create it. You have created many biographies of living people with no clear sources, just an external link to imdb. Biographies of living people not only need clear, reliable sources, but they need to be WP:INLINECITED. Can you please work through these. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 21:12, 20 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I'll add sources to those articles. Harut111 (talk) 08:17, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

SONA (singer)

edit
Abandoned - this BLP article has no checkable inline sources and is written like a resume, thus I think a thorough c/e would be a waste of time. I've tagged it and have made no changes to the text. Baffle gab1978 (talk) 04:47, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I agree; the (presumed) translation is very rough, and the lack of inline citations makes it impossible to copyedit at this time. The article's subject may meet WP:NMUSIC; in any case, you should list the page at WP:PNT. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 17:10, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi Harut, I will do this copy edit. Cheers, Tdslk (talk) 19:33, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Harut, I have copy edited your article. Because I know little about SONA, I have a few questions for you that will help make the article even better:

Hi, thanks for the copy edit.

1) Is the singer's name usually given as "SONA" or "Sona"? The title has "SONA," but the rest of the article uses "Sona."

Both versions are used but Sona is more common. [1]

2) Are the Manolo Gypsy Gitanes the same group as the Gypsy Kings?

I have no idea but I'll try to find information about it.

3) There are several song titles like "Serdce plachet (Heart Cries)." Is the correct name of the song (e.g., what the song is called on the album cover) "Serce plachet (Heart Cries)" or just "Serce plachet," and "Heart Cries" is the English translation of the title?

Heart Cries is the translation of the Russian song. [2]

4) You use the word "project" five times in the article. Could you us a more specific word? For example, would the words "TV show," "album," or "concert tour" be correct?

Done.

5) Can you give the full first name for "I. Prigojini" and "P. Kashin," or are they usually called by only their first initial?

It is Pavel Kashin [3] and Igor Prigogine [4]

6) Also, if you can add inline citations, that would be very helpful.

I'll try. Thanks Harut111 (talk) 10:24, 26 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please ask if you have any questions. Cheers, Tdslk (talk) 03:15, 26 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your answers, Harut. I've made a few more changes to the article based on what you said. I also have a few more questions:
1) There are two tables in the "Albums" section, but I don't know what is different about them. The second has a Russian name, Все пройдет, that also seems to be a name of an album. Should these be combined into one table?
2) What is the "M" short for in "M. Dovlatyan"?
3) If "Sona" is more common, should the article be moved to "Sona (singer)"?
Regards, Tdslk (talk) 01:35, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

։։։I really appreciate your dedication to this article. I did some research and I couldn't find anything about her album Sona (first section). However, Все пройдет is an album of hers. SONA is more common I think. M stands for Mikayel [5]. Thanks again. Harut111 (talk) 17:00, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Harut. Thank you for your responses above. Based on them, I have made my final copy edits to the article. I agree with the others above that this article would benefit from inline citations. Please let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Tdslk (talk) 21:21, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Mariam Petrosyan (singer).jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mariam Petrosyan (singer).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:29, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Swallow Music Awards.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:02, 23 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Young Tapz

edit

The article Young Tapz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:MUSICBIO or WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 18:53, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

He won a major award outside his country and there are many articles about him. Yeah I know the article is short but I don't think it should be deleted only for that because he clearly passes some points of notability guidelines. Harut111 (talk) 19:16, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Iveta Mukuchyan has been completed. There are a couple of issues that will likely need to be resolved before the article has a chance to achieve FA status:

In the Early Life section there are details missing including her parents’ names/occupations. Her parents advised her to return to Armenia but there is no explanation why they did this. The “reported difficulties” I assume are political issues. These need to be elaborated. Do we know what she studied at the Yerevan Conservatory? I assume music, if so what? Vocal, instrumental … needs to be clarified.
In the 2009 section is there an “official” translation of the song title “L'amour n'a pas de loi?”
In the 2016-17 section is there a translation for "Depi Nor Irakanutyun", or for "Siraharvel Em Qez" and the other songs mentioned in the 2018 section?

Some of the sources cited in the article such as WiWibloggs.com do not appear to meet the FA standard of "high-quality, reliable sources". I am also concerned that the article seems to include every public appearance Mukuchyan has ever made. This is turning the article into a glorified list which is not FA standard. Only the most significant events should be in the article, in my opinion. Appearing at a mall opening, or every appearance on a magazine cover are of little consequence to her overall career.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best of luck with the FA process when you get to it.
Regards,
Twofingered Typist (talk) 19:06, 12 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

RonBot (talk) 20:10, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your article title

edit

Doesn't matter what the cover art says, a comma is not how we disambiguate two artists who are not a collective. We put "and" between their names, so the redirect I created that you changed the target of is where the page should go. Ss112 15:45, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sure, you can change the name if you can. I cannot move the page because it displays "a page of that name already exists". Harut111 (talk) 17:42, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I removed German from Iveta because she moved back to Armenia and is no longer an Armenian in Germany. --Hraztan.v (talk) 21:47, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

She is a citizen of Germany, she knows German better than Armenian. I don't think there is need for that. Besides, she has not moved back to Armenia. Harut111 (talk) 10:16, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Where did she say she speaks it better? Also I corrected the order of Armenian and German because Armenian is her first nationality and that's what she calls herself on her verified YouTube account. And her verified Twitter says she lives in Yerevan. --Hraztan.v (talk) 21:57, 24 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Stone Cage

edit

The article Stone Cage has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not satisfy WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Creating articles

edit

If it's your tactic to get around creating articles over redirects others have made by titling your articles "(song by 21 Savage)" and "(song by Demi Lovato)", can you please just do it the correct way in future and ask an admin to delete the page for you before you start? You clearly know the correct disambiguation, hence your requests at WP:RM/TR. Why are you making others do this when it's much easier to just ask for it to be deleted to begin with? Tag it with the speedy deletion tag G6. Or better yet, make the article in your sandbox or as a draft then request it be moved over. Creating forms of disambiguation you know to not be the standard is not the right way. Thank you. Ss112 12:17, 25 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Demi Lovato - Sexy Dirty Love.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Demi Lovato - Sexy Dirty Love.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:28, 30 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Lucifer (season 3)

edit

Hello, Harut111. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Lucifer".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Phospheros (talk) 17:35, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your new article on Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Manuscript Library. I recommend more text on any media notice or critical notice that the library has received, as opposed to simply listing its existence.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

A tag has been placed on Category:Volcanoes of the Republic of Artsakh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Proposed deletion of Arminka

edit

The article Arminka has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article doesn't assert notability and a search of her name in Armenian comes up with very little.

Proposed deletion of Armella Shakaryan

edit

Hello, Harut111

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username SunDawn, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Armella Shakaryan, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|SunDawn}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Proposed deletion of Special Section (TV series)

edit

The article Special Section (TV series) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NTV and WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
